A CALL FOR REPENTANCE TO THE BISHOP OF SABAH, DTK ALBERT VUN

TIME FOR THE RIGHTEOUS TO ARISE! Many had said Bishop Albert Vun is the man of God, how can he be so evil?  Isn’t he the Lord’s anointed? We can only conclude he was probably appointed based on misrepresented facts as we all know him well enough by now he is good at making himself look best and never tell the full truth. Greed, power, lies and self-glorification have definitely possessed and corrupted our Bishop Vun.  The current situation is not good for our Diocese of Sabah. Unless a bleak hope of total repentance, it is devastating if this continues. All issues raised are true and factual.  We suggest those in doubt or denial to validate these truths. Be watchful to the current situations and pray for God’s revelations as how we should move on.

Priest, pastors and Bishop Vun’s supporters had commented the bloggers as trouble makers. We urge you to come clean before God in complete honesty and total repentance before you make any comments. Please do not mock us as if you are the only righteous and spiritual people around. We want to resolve our present mess and failures caused by the bad conduct and dictatorship of Bishop Albert Vun. We do not want these to deteriorate further in ASC and the Diocese of Sabah. How can you rebuke us as liars and trouble makers but you chose not to be informed? We had prayed over these issues long ago but you chose to disagree with us because you are still in denial. This is serious to ASC and the entire Diocese of Sabah! We urge all priests and pastors to be more discerning, rise up righteously and pray with us. Much has been revealed and many people are hopeful our bishop is given a 2nd chance only if he comes clean and we all must continue to pray what is our next move if he refuse to repent.

Pride has definitely struck our Bishop Vun to deny and excuse himself not to entertain comments from anonymous.  Issues and facts are undeniable. Whether the complaint comes from anonymous or with identity it is totally irrelevant and such excuses can never be used as good defences. We have seen enough of Bishop Albert Vun and this is one of his cunning tactics to bury truths underground in total ignorance and denial. The tricks that worked in the past will not necessary work now because more are informed about his fatal flaws.
Should we sit and hope to see Bishop Albert Vun’s response to our call of righteousness after all he will pretend innocent his way? Do you think hoping for his repentance alone is good enough at this critical time?  God willing, even if he responds to the call of repentance, should he not be more appropriate to serve as priest instead of the bishop for this season until such time trust and confidence is regained?

The Anglican standard for the removal of bishop from office is when someone is unable to perform functions of his office, having infirmity of body and mind, misbehaviour and heresy. Don’t you think all the bad conducts of Bishop Albert Vun has far surpassed the tolerance level of the Anglican standard of a Bishop? Has he not violated the removal clause? Is he not in a situation with sufficient complaints to warrant for his removal?

Let’s respond to the call of righteousness for the good of our Anglican Diocese of Sabah.

1/.Over stayed his welcome in ASC.
2/.Living beyond the spiritual life of a traditional spiritual leader.Spent too lavishly
on worldly things, eg.Cars,5 Stars toilets & equipments & etc etc.
3/.Trusting & listening too much to his "inner circle" of " Pastors ". esp. Project Director.
4/.Hv not connected himself with all the parishioners. esp. the retired wage earners.
    ( too pigeon eyes ).
5/.Unfair treatments to some of the long service Pastors who did not " angkat " him.
6/.Hypersonic speed in promoting Rev. John Yeo from just a Pastor in Charge in Labuan 6 years ago to Bishop, bypassing very senior Rev. like
Archdecon Moses Chin & a few others deserving candidates.
7/.Abused & misused of Church funds.
8/.Abused his authority. eg. refused to approved Rev.Fu compassionate leave.
9/.Threaten to evict Parishioners to speak up at ASC AGM.
Can someone in the know continue with the list.

The dead not allowed to be buried in the Anglican Cemetery because some of BAV 'spies' told him that they did not go to church when alive. Therefore their last requests by the deceased families were rejected. You call this compassion? The dead was already condemmed by BAV! Did he know that some of the dead could hardly walk and could not attend church service? Did he know some of the dead had close relationship with God while on their death beds? Isn't it the duties of the pastors to find out how many of ASC people are sick and need spiritual support? Many people in the ASC said they don't even know who are sick because the names of the sick are not revealed in the church bulletin.BAV is still controlling everything even the dead!!!! I wish BAV long healthy life and faithfully attends church every Sunday even sick!

Does he know that some of those dead were faithful church goers, only when he became the bishop they did not attend because they were fed up with his constant scolding and teaching the wrong doctrine.Do you know that a lot of the old folks going to church now are to show their faces because they are afraid that you will deprive them of their last resting ground? Have a heart BAV!

God is the judge not you.

  5. Can our Rector Yong Thiam Choy answer the following,
a/.why was the late William denied a funeral service last week by you ?
b/.Did you not know that the late William was a very faithful sunday parishioners at ASC before he was bed ridden more then 6 months ago?
c/.Why were you having double standards by allowing Dr.Philip Lyn's father a full funeral service at our Cathedral, knowing fully that the family have never attended sunday services at ASC ?
d/.What are the criteria for allowing a dead person a full funeral service at ASC ? Dead must be from the very rich & famous, like Dr.Philip Lyn's father & Datuk Wong Tze Fatt of
    Tong Hing Group ?
We will pray for you Rector & trust you will not turn out to be another MONSTER in the making. One MONSTER is bad enough already.
We shall await for your reply soonest.

  6. I had been to a few funeral services where the dead was not allowed to be buried in the Anglican cemetery because they did not go to church for quite sometime. Is attendance taken every Sunday by the church 'secret agents'? In the past as long as the families of the dead could verify that the deceased was an Anglican through certificates or verified by certain people close to the deceased,he/she was allowed to have a burial plot, not anymore now. What I would like to know is that surely the pastors can verify why that person could not go to church if they had visited him/her when he/she was sick and then passed away.

What is the point of going to perform the funeral service and then deprived the deceased of being buried in the Anglican cemetery and worse still, sending condolences on behalf of the bishop,ASC staff etc to the deceased family and the poor dead person was lying in the coffin with no burial place!! Don't use the bishop's name in vain,he may not like it!

Instead of drawing people back to church,he is driving the deceased families away.Who wants to go to worship in a church where the bishop sets his own rules and expects people to follow-like punishing the dead and warning the families that if they don't go to church, the same will happen to them when they die.

Does the Anglican cemetery belong to BAV?

He make the pastor and their family members he transfered in hot soup with dont care at all attitude, (this is not bluffing as i myself witness the situation right infront of me).

From that minute onward i dont respect this monster at all.

He is just WORST than my smoking & non-christian boss.

My dear brother & sister in Christ, how could a bishop or some of his pastors cannot differentiate the RIGHT and the WRONG?

  9. This blog was brought to my attention.
Let us be objective and not emotional on these issues.
    1) Dead not permitted to have the last service in the "Church".
    i) Is the clergy aware of the physical, emotional and spiritual conditions of the decease prior to his/her passing or returning to be with the Lord Jesus?
ii) Is there a "caring team" looking into not just the worldly; but also the spiritual welfare of the flock?
iii) Is the Holy communion administered to those who cannot attend the physical church service on Sunday due to reasons as being bedridden, house bound, prison bound, etc.?
"By these shall all men know that you are my disciple if you have love one for another".
Scripture is crystal clear that "Love" is not just talk only; but; action!
These are some of the questions the "church" (people) must post to the the Church Administrator as Martin Luther did in the days of old.
    2) It is shocking to read that the Priest in charge is authorized to sign off check amounting to RM 100,000 without going through the PCC.
We are human and fallible creatures; hence there must be checked and balance. Argue if it need be (in the PCC Meeting until kingdom come); but, there must still be accountability. The clergy are still human; who there say he/she will not fall! (For all have sin and fall short of the glory of God - note that the work sin is not in the passed tense!)
Let this not be a personal attack to the character of a person. Put up a petition, have a signature drive and then send it to higher authority. I believe that with all these accusations, an official investigation is warranted. But, it (the investigation) will not come about without an official written complain.
Do we fear God and seek HIS Glory or are we afraid of "Men" whom we put in Authority?
All Saints Cathedral is just a building. The Church is the call out people of God.
For the Glory of God in Christ Jesus.
(These are my two sen worth of thought for the Brothers and Sisters in Christ to think through and act if such is the feeling you harbour and feel of the injustice done by Bishop Albert Vun.)
    Shalom.

  10. This blog is getting nowhere. All talks and no action. You are becoming the laughing stock. BAV brushed off everything that was brought up here. We are getting fed up already. It is time to act. There is no more time to wait. Otherwise all efforts will just fizzle out. BAV will get off scot-free. He will get away without any kind of punishment.

He doesn't even need to be a dog with remorseful eyes to get off from his wrong doing. All he need to do is keep silent. You commented that BAV has mental retardation. I think it is the bloggers who are imbecile if you don't take concrete action soon.

  11. With this blog the fear factor has been removed. It has given people courage to challenge bishop's authority.

Rumor has it that 2 priests will be resigning. One has come true.

He will be spearheading a group of people to challenge bishop's authority. He hopes that our bishop will make the fatal mistake of taking DOS out of the Anglican Communion. He will then use legal mean to oust the current bishop and install himself as bishop of the diocese.

The other will start his own church and he will be taking with him quite a few of his members. He is also on the look out for some younger priests and pastors to join him.

All these sound like fairy tale but the Arab Spring started as a fairy tale.

  15. I am looking forward to the coming AGM in Cathedral. BAV will instruct his merry men to get everyone from the BM congregation to attend. If the anti-BAV team wants to have the upperhand, you better make sure that many from the English and Chinese Congregations will also attend.

  16. It is sad to see the people of God like this, myself for one was a faithful church goer, i use the term "was" because now i no longer see the reason for attending if our spiritual bread is replaced with ridicule by our BAV. I honestly say so, and my honest feelings are that the anglican diosease has been converted into a profitable organization/company instead of a community of God loving people. As a young adult i spent my youth growing up in ASC but now when i graduated i dont feel the passion or the joy of going to church. Since BAV took over that is, i find myself unable to "afford" to attend a ASC service.. all they ask for is -"the money in your pockets". BAV please understand that the church is the people and their spiritual needs, not the infrastructure or the biggest church building or lavish prayer centres. How could you close down our kindergarten yet open up multiple schools which have no students. I hope the people of ASC will have the courage to take action and not only hide behind a blog.

  19. Anonymous of 29 December 2011 02:08

I do not know what is in the mind of William Thien and as for me, I am out of touch with ASC and there are three months to go to the AGM.

From my personal experiences of the AGMs in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 which I never missed and never missed to ask questions and give some comments, there was very little support from those present. I did moved some motions annually but never approved by those present for reasons known to them.

I think I left early as it was meaningless to stay on.

So there is no way to use the AGM to topple sny one especially the Dean and/or the Bishop.

Can we move a motion to remove the Dean and the Bishop who happen to be the same person?

Any motion must have a proposer and a seconder and must be approved by the Dean.

Even if (if ever) it is approved by the Dean, there would not be any publicity given by the ASC with adequate time of notice to the parishioners? So if we need to move any motion, please organise ourselves properly and get enough parishioners to turn up.

I wonder how we can have a motion to move a no-confidence in the Dean cum Bishop?

If we can do a motion of no-confidence, we don't need to wait for the AGM, and we can do it anytime now.

About lodging Police Report and MACC report, I do not know if that can work for/in ASC. I have lodged more than 30 major Police Reports in my life.

BTW, how is a church registered in the society?

Finally, I don't intend to be a bishop without the required experience but it is timely that a new beginning for the Anglican church as a growth factor to separate the role of Bishop from administering the physical aspects of the church/diocese so that the Bishop as the spiritual head concentrate himself in the spiritual affairs of the church and leave the daily administration of the church in the hands of professional managers.

In the ensuing scenario post critical mess, who would dare to take up the role of the professional managers?

There must be total changes in the way ADOS and the major churches are managed and in that way we can move forward for more growth spiritually and physically..

Praise God in Christ, for this possible new direction.

  20. Don’t forget also other high conspiracy transactions like the purchase of Sipitang and Tenom lands. Can someone give details of the land titles purchased for Sipitang & Tenom lands? Do the same land search on these and also do a comparison for price on the transactions to the titles adjacent to these lands. Surely you will find huge difference between the adjacent land price transacted and the land bought by our ADOS for the Sipitang land.

Price per acre bought by ADOS was more than RM430,000 for the Sipitang land. Once we have these important documentary evidences, we are one step nearer to end the conspiracies.

  22. From : William Thien( jkthien@gmail.com)
To : The Bishop of Diocese of Sabah.

    30th December 2011

    Dear Bishop,

In my letter dated 27th December 2011, I mentioned that I will sum up for your easy reference some of the accusations from the bloggers.

I have carefully studied the blog and come to the conclusion that the following issues are the main causes of the complaints lashed out at you.

    1. Closing down of the kindergarten—you have failed to give a valid reason for closing down one of the most historical kindergarten in the city. You made a hasty decision to have it closed just because of your “Like”. You are liable to give the congregation a convincing explanation.

    2. Wrong perception of religious success— as the leader of the Diocese, you are too preoccupied with materialism rather than spiritualism. You are not enthusiastic to build up your relationship with the congregation; you opt to confront them. In order to make yourself prominent from others, you are more interested in the following concrete buildings:-
2.1. Kokol Prayer Centre— a huge sum of fund (at least RM5,000,000) was allocated to construct the building but it was completed without the OC. It has never been used to hold any function it was intended for. Its land erosion problem has rendered it unfit to use. You are required to give the congregation a clear explanation for your non-compliance with the regulation. Were you advised by your project manager or the Standing Committee to confront the authority? You are blamed for wasting the church’s fund.
2.2. Tawau Vision School—you chose to close down the well-established kindergarten and decided to open a new school in Tawau. Are you contradicting yourself ? Would you please give us your reasoning for doing so? How much was the cost for building this school?
2.3. The Celebration Centre (at least RM31,000,000)—You have failed to learn any lesson from your past failure. Most of the congregation have expressed their strong objection to the plan of this mega building. But you chose to confront them; you insist to proceed with the project. You must have your reasoning. Please tell them.

    3. Your official residence--it was said that a huge sum of fund (about RM1,000,000) was spent for the renovation of your residence. I was told that you had installed 14 units of air-conditioners in the house. Who bears the electricity bills?
    ……page 1

    ReplyDelete
  23. 4. The deanery—who are those occupying the house? Are they entitled to it? It was said that all the furniture in the house were imported from KL. Is it true? The congregation need to know because they paid for the cost.

    5. Improper tone – the congregation are disgusted at the words ‘ I AM THE BISHOP’ shouting out from your mouth. Your frequent shouting so has indicated that you are a narrow-minded person who does not accept different opinion. Please humble yourself.

    6. Practice of nepotism -- a number of reverends, pastors and coworkers are being engaged or promoted not based on their meritorious services or contribution.

    7. Practice of persecution -- experienced reverends and coworkers with excellent track record were asked to resign or were transferred to places where population of congregation are not justifiable for such a transfer.

    8. Manipulation of the last AGM -- you are blamed for playing politics in the church. Do you accept this accusation?

    9. Conflict of interest—you are accused of abusing your power in the capacity as bishop to purchase a piece of land from your family of which you have a share of interest and the purchase price was believed to be above the average market value. Can you tell them why did DOS need to purchase such a piece of land?

10.Misuse of church funds – you were complained of spending extravagantly on unnecessary projects, such as (a) putting up decoration of the trees with light bulbs ,(b) re-polishing of the pews which were done by unprofessional carpenters and (c) replacement of the carpets. All the projects were carried out without any formal PCC meeting for approval. The cost for those projects are considered as very unreasonable.

11.Appointment of Dean— since Dean Khoo resigned about six years ago, the position of Dean has been suspended since then. You are blamed for holding two positions in the church, bishop cum dean.

    12. Land purchase—you are alleged to spend RM800,000.00 for a piece of 2-acres land which has a value of RM200,000.00 only in Sipitang. Can you tell them why did DOS need to purchase such a piece of land?

    13. Land sales—the congregation are interested to know how you deal with the huge sum of reserve derived from the sale of the land in Likas. Reliable sources disclosed that its selling price was undervalued by RM8,000,000.00. I believe that it is untrue. I advise you to make it clear. Can you tell them why did the DOS need to sell this piece of land?

    14. Academy school in K L—you have spent RM500,000.00 for this school. Can you explain why you need to open this school in Kuala Lumpur? Are we operating any business in education? Sources disclosed that only 15 students were enrolled. Can you account for it? …page 2

    ReplyDelete
  24. 15. School in Beijing—you have puzzled the whole congregation in the Diocese for operating this school because it is not at all what they would have expected. They need your explanation.

From my observation, I conclude that lacking of transparency in the issues is the main cause leading to all the misunderstandings. The congregation are suspicious of your intention in the Diocese. Some of them even questioned whether you are undertaking the illicit outflow of the church’s fund.

You can not deny that we are having a crisis in the Diocese. You are the Bishop and you are responsible to solve the problem. You may make some changes to ease the tension: (1) appoint Rev Yong as the Dean, empowering him to handle ASC affairs without your interference (2) transfer some of those pastors (from Tawau) to the interior churches. As what I said in my previous letter, the key to the door of solution is with you.

    May God advise you!

    Yours truly,

    William Thien

  28. Reading what was posted so far, I discern that the bloggers are having problem trying to figure out what is the best measure to get rid of bishop. I read this article that was published in The Church of England Newspaper. This may be of help.

"The Primate of the Anglican Church of Australia, Archbishop Phillip Aspinall of Brisbane, has accepted the findings of the church’s Special Tribunal and deposed the former Bishop of The Murray.

On Dec 13, a spokesman for Dr. Aspinall stated the archbishop had “accepted the recommendation of the tribunal and approved the removal of Bishop Davies from office in accordance with these recommendations.”

On Sept 24, Bishop Davies resigned as Bishop of The Murray in South Australia, one day before a tribunal met to hear nine counts of misconduct laid against him by the Archbishop of Adelaide and Bishop of Willochra.

After two days of hearings, the tribunal found the former bishop guilty of misconduct in absentia and recommended he be removed from the episcopate.

Bishop Davies was adjudged to have subverted the Professional Standards processes by failing to respond to allegations of sexual misconduct made against his archdeacon. The tribunal found he had displayed a lack of commitment to the Anglican Church and acted at times in an abusive manner “inconsistent with his pastoral role as a Bishop of the Diocese.”

He was also found guilty of having improperly influenced the composition of diocesan council in order to gain financial advantage “at the expense of the interests of the Diocese.”

Bishop Davies is believed to have been received into the Roman Catholic Church, but the Anglican Church of Australia had no knowledge of his current status, Dr. Aspinall’s spokesman said."

    You can do the following.
    1. Set up a special tribunal with the agreement of our Archbishop - Bishop Bolly by this February.
    2. Press charges of misconduct against BAV. The tribunal can meet and recommend BAV to be dismissed even if BAV does not attend the meeting.
    3. The hearing must be fair to BAV. If he is found not guilty allow him to continue his office. But if found guilty recommend him to be dismissed or even defrocked.

All the best to all of you. May God come out triumph in everything.

  30. Hello Bishop,

You are very lucky that you are not beaten up by people for doing such acts. If you think carefully, people actually still respect you and have yet to take any actions on you because we are in hope that you would repent and change.

For real, in the corporate world, you might have lost your hands or legs by now if you are lucky for not being shoot dead.

I may not have as much experience as you, but please, do not abuse by using the name of God. Even I am not earning much, I would rather save up my money, visit the village kids and buy them some goodies. At least, I will be happy doing this than going to a tension and cold church.

I am another anonymous here like everyone but that doesnt mean we are not people. We are human, we have feelings so do you Bishop. Where is you feelings for the people in the church? Your compassion and the love of God to spread around and move as many people in the KK city!

  32. To all the bloggers,

I am pleased to disclose herewith the two letters from Bishop for your reference.

    Dated 20th December 2011

    Dear William

I do thank you for your message to me.

I do not read any blog especially those that are not signed by people. If there are any accussations against me, there are proper channels. People cannot just accuse me or any pastors without facts and truth. You must realise that they are the ones destroying the good name of All Saints. I have not spoken against these people or against our church. Our Standing Committee and my Chancellor have advised me not to respond or discuss this. From the guidance of the Bible, we are also not to react because over the ages, leaders are accused and slandered all the time. My respond is to commit this to the Lord and let the Lord judge between us. I am not worried about my prestige as I am clear about what the Lord has called me to do.

We are here to build up the church, All Saints and all the churches in the whole Diocese. I will continue to do my part as Bishop faithfully without fear or favor. You must remember that a prophet is not without honor except in his own country.

If you have things that you need explanations to put your heart at rest, I will be glad to see you. At least you are honest enough to write to me. (But to publish an open letter is not the way we due with differences in the church.) I would advise all of us to be guided by God's word and not by our own opinions - or be influenced by people who has malice in their hearts. The Bible clearly tells us not to walk in the way of the wicked or sit in the seat of scoffers...Ps.1.

I cannot explain anything because I do not know what are the issues. We have a Standing Committee that meet regularly that look into the overall running of the Diocese. It there are any major issues, all these are addressed and approved there. To wildly react, especially in the internet, would not be right and will not help.

May the Lord Himself contend with those who contend with me. Ps. 35.

    In Christ

    Bishop

    Dated 9th Jan 2012

    Dear William

I already said to you that we do not discuss our church leadership matters in the internet. I noted your concern. But there are right ways to address them. We do have responsibility to lead our church to do what God calls our church to do. Our church are led by responsible leaders who are called and trained for the work God calls us to do. I trust you will be willing to submit to rightful spiritual authority God has put over you. The church is not about you and about me. It is about mobilize God's people to do His will.

This will be my final reply to you out of . Like I said to you earlier, we do not discuss our church leadership matters in the internet. This is not the right way.

    In Christ

    Bishop

  33. Dear William,

Quote" (But to publish an open letter is not the way we due with differences in the church.)"

was this word "due" in the bishop's letter?

Quote "be influenced by people who has malice in their hearts." and the bishop using this word "malice" in his letter needs to be exposed now.

Reading from the postings here, is it right for the preachers including the BAV to use the pulpit to "attack" or "criticize" the views of parishioners?

To resolve this long standing issue, definitely a tribunal in the open be instituted now. If the BAV is not prepared to go ahead to do one now, then the parishioners must do one.

  34. I hope he sleeps at night with all those lies hovering over him. The overly used name of "GOD" to "move" the church to his will - even claiming to be a prophet. God bless his soul, he may not have to answer to us. But he will answer to God.

    ReplyDelete
  35. From BAV's letter to WT he keeps saying he is doing God's work and God wants him to do his will. What will? Building mega projects, opening up schools with few students, renovations of this and that, buying and selling, junior priests over taking the senior ones in promotions, buying expensive cars, dining in 5 star hotels? Now senior servers are taken over by new ones-are these the will of God too? Don't use the name of God in vain. What about the attitudes of your pastors? No right to ask this or that-what we do is for your own good, for future generations etc..This church and the pastors are getting very arrogant,dictatorial,materialistic,uncaring-do you think this is also God's will that you all should treat the flock with such uncultured manners? There are no fruits of the Holy Spirit present-leaders should lead by examples.

We are not stupid sheep and led by the nose-we know what is the will of God and what is not. What we are made to believe is that God is love, kind gentle, caring, listens to the cries of his sheep, the exact opposite of what we are facing now from some of the pastors .You can kick all the bloggers out from the church and see what will happen?

BAV said via the internet is not the right way to settle things but he did not mention what other ways he would satisfy the matters other than to ask WT to see him .He did not say other people can come long with WT.If WT comes with a group then BAV will say,I only ask W. to come.not all of you.He always has a reason,he can twist and turn and what a sly cunning fox, this bishop is.

  36. BAV's reply to WT is very cordial and very polite but I can guarantee in his heart he wants to 'kill' him and throw him out of the church! When he replied to Clarence Foo's letter of resignation he was also very understanding telling him to reconsider and why not consult him first so that that could pray together. When CF said his resignation was final, wah,BAV was a changed person! Mr.Thien be careful,we are all for you and may God be with you wherever you may be.We will pray for you.Have a happy time in Australia.

  41. Lat us not be deceived by words like "work", "will", "call" in the name of God....but trample on the dignity of people and trivialising relationship....

The Gospel starts with relationship, first, relationship with God then relationship among men and women, and continue to be expressed in the building of relationship in the Church and Christian community. For BAV to trivialise, de-emphasise, belittle and downplaying this, and to damage his relationship with the church (Christian people)through his action and inaction as listed by WT, and to continue in his attitude of scorn and disdain is both scandalous and sacrilegious to his own calling and office.

Ecclesiastical and spiritual authority are predominatly authority to build up, never to tear down relationship with God and betwen people. The great many fantastic church buildings and monuments in Europe and elsewhere are testimony of the dubious and sacrilegious emphasis of the physical & material & outward things to "glorify" God, because these buildings and monuments are devoid of what is most important to God, the people who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord. Spiritual authorities are authority to serve and to set free, to build up and to love, never to "lord over" and demand submission except the word of God, "But whoever would be great among you must be your servant".

BAV should resign as he has defiled his office and despised his calling and take responsibility for his action and inaction because to be removed would be irresponsible....

    ReplyDelete
  42. It is obvious that BAV is digging his nails in. Who can blame him? Where will he go if he is removed as bishop. He and his family have lived a lifestyle at the church's expense. So, let's pray that he has somewhere to go and something else to do.

  43. Can anyone, esp. Pastors,Rector & Bishop tell all ASC Parishioners the TRUTH.,
1/.Did Ablert Vun Chong Fui booked 3 ( three ) plots of burial ground registered
    under his name ?
2/.Did he pay for the additional 2 plots booked under his name ?
3/.Where in the constitution that said Bishop can booked more the one burial plot
    for himself ?
4/.Why would he needs not 2 but 3 ( THREE ) burial plots ? Was it due to his great
visionary mind that because of so much " kui nyuk & park sum kai " that
eventually his body will needs more then 2 burial plots to bury his body when
he leaves this worldly world of his ?
5/.Chong Fui, you MUST lead by example & not have 3 sets of rules, one for
yourself, one for " Deputy Bishop" Stella Lo & Rev.Philip Lo and one for
    parishioners.

  44. Why is it others only can only buy a a plot of burial place at the age of 70 an AV is not yet 70 already bought 3!!Clearly this is double standard. Some have no right to 'own' a plot even on their last journey to meet their maker!!!Never mind-lah,so long as there are many 'mansions in my father's house',no house on earth is no big deal, wherever our bodies are,we will rise up and meet the Lord,it needs not be from the Anglican cemetery!!

  46. From observer- Members in ADOS are still ignorant in a lot of things. The leaders of the church are doing things without informing the members. They go against the church constitutions and those in the standing committee are bending backwards to go along with BAV.The bishop disregards the constitutions and change them to his liking. Can a bishop change the constitution without going through some form of meeting with other priests and leaders of ADOS?

I heard something about the BAV's family land.Yes,it was sold at a good price but to his benefits .The church had to pay more than what was originally valued. The chairman was John Yeo who negotiated the highest price for him.Can the chairman who is also the assistant bishop and also BAV's blue eye man be the chairman of the 'buy and sell' committee? What was more,he was not helping the church to get a good deal but helped BAV to get a good deal at the expense of members of ADOS.The Standing committee should have objected JY being the chairman in the first place. He was not neutral and he was one sided-for the bishop.

From my observation, this church is not transparent anymore, they preach half truths, not willing to answer to allegations, breaking laws as the bishop deems fit, enjoy a comfortable and luxurious life style at the expense of the members. In other words they 'own' ASC/DOS.The Sunday services are for show only-well dressed priests in their smart robes, beautiful church with expensive carpets,air-cons,first class toilets and now ushers must wear suits! The congregation must jump and clap to the music of the beating of drums and shaking of hands to make peace with everyone, singing stimulating songs over and over again to show what a vibrant church ASC is . but alas, the insiders all know it is a show only, inside each and everyone's heart, they feel empty when they come out of the church.

  47. This burial ground business should be stop once and for all. As long you are baptised and conformed an Anglican you should be allowed to be buried in any Sabah Anglican Cemetery. Why should one man be the judge to say whether you can or cannot be bury in an Anglican cemetery. After all we are all children of God only he can judge and definitely no demigod in DOS or Church can judge any child of God. Mat 7:1-5. If you think that a sheep is lost is it not the shepherd responsibility to go in search of that sheep and bring him back to the flock. Mat 18:12-14. If the shepherd cannot bring the sheep back, whose fault it is? BAV you are answerable because you are the chief shepherd and the Dean. Don’t always point one finger at others where as three fingers are pointing back at yourself. God gave you all the sheep to take care. Be honest to God Have you ever visit your sheep when they are sick? Pray for them when they are sick? Visit them when they did not come to church? Pray for any one of them for good health for whatever difficulties or problem they may face? All these and many more is your no 1 responsibilities and not big and nice building. God does not need materials things on earth for what he has in heaven nothing can compare on earth. What our God need is numbers added each day, Ooooh wake up lah from you big dream Vun Chong Fui and repent.

  48. If nothing is done about ASC/DOS,soon the Sabah Anglican community will be not respected.Other churches other than Anglican churches, locally and all over the world from Canada to Australia and England all know about this crisis and only BAV said he is not aware of it!! He is telling a big lie!He gives so many reasons why he will not answer to the allegations,it is just an excuse not to answer them because there is hanky panky going on.Everyone is talking about it.Whether an allegation is true or not ,either revealed by people in their real identities or not, must be answered truthfully cannot say you follow the advice of your chancellor and the Standing committee.Since when did the bishop ever listen to anybody's advice? Beware, those leaders in ASC,the blame may fall on you,if you bend backwards to agree to what the bishop is doing.Don't think you are doing an honourable thing-you know what is not right and yet you let him do what he wants to do.The people voted you to be their leaders/respresentatives and they have a right to be consulted before a deal is made, looks like when a deal is done and money is needed in big sums-no small amount-from the members, then only they are let into the bishop's plan. The favourite phrases for AV and his pastors are,'what I do, need not be made known to you, I am in authority,I have the right to choose whosoever I want to take over from your duties in church'.Don't you all think this is arrogant talking? Where is the humbleness? Those who are in the bishop's gang, always act like BAV esp Lolly, sounds like the bishop and God helps us if they are all bishops!!

  49. My Friends
The reason why late brother Felix Miao cannot be buried in the Anglican Cemetery is NOT because he has not attended church for a long time, the real reason is that he has NOT made any offering to BAV for a long time. If you dont attend church how are you going to give offerings..... Got it.

  50. Is BAV in a state of denial? I quote a write-up from last week’s local newspapers on the subject of Denial. (It’s a bit long but worth reading.)
“Denial (also called abnegation) is a defense mechanism postulated by Sigmund Freud, in which a person is faced with a fact that is too uncomfortable to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence. The subject may use:

    1. Simple denial: deny the reality of the unpleasant fact altogether.
    2. Minimization: admit the fact but deny its seriousness (a combination of denial and rationalization).
    3. Projection: admit both the fact and seriousness but deny responsibility.

    Denial of fact

In this form of denial, someone avoids a fact by lying. This lying can take the form of an outright falsehood (commission), leaving out certain details to tailor a story (omission), or by falsely agreeing to something (assent, also referred to as "yessing" behavior). Someone who is in denial of fact is typically using lies to avoid facts they think may be painful to themselves or others.

    Denial of responsibility

This form of denial involves avoiding personal responsibility by:

    1. Blaming: a direct statement shifting culpability and may overlap with denial of fact.
    2. Minimizing: an attempt to make the effects or results of an action appear to be less harmful than they may actually be.
    3. Justifying: when someone takes a choice and attempts to make that choice look okay due to their perception of what is "right" in a situation.

Someone using denial of responsibility is usually attempting to avoid potential harm or pain by shifting attention away from themselves.”

BAV is not willing to confront the truth. It is possible that it is too painful for him, but he must be made to realize that if he does nothing, he will destroy the church. Those who are close to him, his wife, his children, his rector, his intercessors have a responsibility to wake him up. He is still using bible verses taken out of context to defend his inferior complex. He is still talking about honour, respect to be accorded to pastors. Pastors, be very careful of what BAV is teaching you. Do not only think of honour, rights and privileges. What about servanthood? Pastors are primarily called to serve God’s people. Overtime spent under bad leaders, some of you might have forgotten what it is like to serve.

BAV, the church will exists until Jesus comes again, but you only have one life. You started well, are you going to finish well? Why are you running away, preaching in Indonesia and Nigeria? If there is nothing wrong, why fear your own church? Do not behave like our brothers of other faith who are so fearful of discovering the truth from reading the bible. You are fearful of discovering the truth from reading the blog. Read the blog to discover some of the things said of you and reflect on them instead of avoiding it.

There is no need to pretend that all is well. The pastors are still smiling and preaching and performing their duties as though nothing has happened. You may say you are not reading the blog, but people in Canada, Australia, West Malaysia are following it with interest. Do you still want to pretend? People from other denominations are being polite to us by not asking.

No one can doubt that leaders are appointed by God, but take note the spirit of God left King Saul when he disobeyed God. There is no point in striving to show that you are right and others are wrong. This will only destroy the church that you claim you are trying to build.

For your info cause of your ignorence, brother Felix Miao is a more senior member than you. You have no respect NOT only for the dead, but also for your senior member of the church. By the same token, we have no respect for you. Hope that you will face the same judgment when on judgement day, our Lord Jesus will do the same to you, for the teaching goes, DO NOT DO UNTO OTHERS THAT YOU DO NOT WANT OTHERS TO DO UNTO YOU. If you all have the time and have internet access, please go online and look for the Book of Common Prayer.Look for the title Ordination of a Deacon-page 543 .A few lines caught my eye-you are to serve all people, particularly the POOR,the WEAK,the SICK and the LONELY.As a deacon,in the church, you are to study the Holy Scripture to seek NOURISHMENT from them and to MODEL YOUR LIFE from them. You are to make Christ and his REDEMPTIVE LOVE known by WORD and EXAMPLE to those among whom you LIVE and WORK and WORSHIP.I hope the new deacon knows what he is ordained for,not just to VOTE for the bishop. You have promised all these before God and you must make good your promises.Don't let people say that you are an illegal deaon! Only the Tawau people who attended the ordination knew what sort of promises PLo made-Did the bishop follow the Common Book of Prayer or did he make his own laws to fit the occasion and motive???

  53. BAV could not give a hoot what everyone comments in this blog. He claims he does not read it and therefore treats all voiced criticisms as hot air. He just went ahead without taking heed of issues the parishioners of ADOS raised on improprieties of his decisions and actions. He is bomb proof and the more hot air is created, the more he will defy the complaints.

His cronies, henchmen and shoe lickers will even believe him more of his absolute power over the Diocese and they too will become fearless of the bleating lambs that the parishioners have been nurtured to become after continuous obedience, meekness, power yielding sermons preached over and over again.

Sad to admit, the situation is helpless like a failed coup. Just brace ourselves for the next authoritarian assault when the Celebration Centre project will be launched this year. BAV will continue in his ways and perhaps even more exaggerated with his arrogance, dictatorial behavior, extravagance and aggressiveness.

Our meekness should not be taken advantage of. In fact, meekness should be first shown by BAV before becoming majestic like our Christ. As in the hymn “Meekness and Majesty”:

Meekness and Majesty, manhood and deity
In perfect harmony the man who is god
Lord of eternity dwells in humanity
Kneels in humility and washes our feet.

We must soldier on like what the hymn “Onward Christian Soldiers” tells us:

Like a mighty army moves the church of God
Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
We are not divided, all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.

    1. Anyone have the details of the CC projects as there are grievous implications to ASC and the ADOS if the project is not properly thought out and planned.

There would be serious financial implications for the ASC and its land if the CC is to be funded by loans with the land of ASC and ADOS as mortgaged to finance the said project. It is to be very expensive to maintain it if that project is not to be self sustaining.

ASC in its prevailing crisis with financial implications cannot sustain the CC projects. We need a totally united church of dedicated people to make sure the success of CC project if it is going ahead to make it a meaningful project.

If more people leave the church in recent years, how would the auditorium fill up with 5,000 sincere Christians within the next few years? If we cannot get 5,000 christians in ASC within the next few years - as we know the statistics in recent years namely slow growth, CC is doomed in the perceived expectations.

  54. I heard there were written objections about the ordination of PLo officially sent to BAV, and his 2 assistant bishops but BAV still went ahead to ordain PLo. The complaint was with valid reasons. Moreover, BAV has refused his official Diocesan Chancellor to witness the ordination. Why? Because that ordination was illegal? Instead he appointed another ADK lawyer friend from his tawau church to witness the ordination of PLo. Is this unlawful? Why & why? His Diocesan Chancellor could flew in tawau for another meeting yet BAV told him no need to witness the ordination. Hanky panky ? Wow! That is to show our BAV is outrageous and his unlawful practice has proven his character.
You know what BAV said in the ordination service? He wants to train his workforce in house so he justified the need of the celebration centre. 2 points for BAV to answer: 1) You need to celebration centre to train your priest or to facilitate your wife’s students? 2) Why are you training your own people? You have problem adopting other theological training which is biblical based?

Better watch out now on how BAV handle the CC from the angle of financing including mortgage some properties of the ADOS. Is there any chance to stop the arrogant BAV to proceed to building CC with such loans likely to be defaulted and the church properties be forclosed or auctioned and all members of the church would be in trouble then.

    1. Yes, anonymous of Jan 18, and "if you can foresee the downfall of ADOS and clearly we have anti Christ in church" can the parishioners take action to stop this downfall?

So many of you here cannot be anonymous any more but make a stand to be counted and try to stop the obvious projects which are in the pipeline. The most obvious one is CC. To save ADOS from downfall, BAV must table all the details of the CC projects for all to see. The financial aspects are very crucial.

Can BAV explain what happen to the sale proceeds from the Likas land?

The Kokol prayer project already believed to be in bad shape with with the landslip there.

Can ADOS afford another likely failed project in CC?

I strongly believe that if BAV does not provide details of the CC project, the parishioners should bring this case to the Court for an injunction to stop the BAV to proceed with CC project.

So some of you have to appear visible now to be the plaintiffs.

So we need to act fast now before the contract is signed on CC as it was indicated earlier that BAV would proceed on the CC project despite protests.

The CC project when failed/delayed in completion would affect ADOS and all the anglicans too.

Very sad that most of sermons from all the Pastors to Bishop Vun were all about themselves or family & very soon Chong Fui will come up with his own bible, NAV, ie " New Albert Version "
    Here is the summary,
AV - Kiu Hyuk & Pak Sum Kai.
"Deputy Bishop" Stella Lo - My husband the great builder as he always used huge cardboard boxes to houses for all his children.NOT the small boxes, those very very huge for putting
    fridge.
( now you guys know why AV employed him to be the Project Director of DOS ).
Will he scream his lung out when the CC is completed ?
LKV - Football & is he going to recomend AV to buy over MU to compete with Tony who had bought
    QPR ?
BTW, AV when are you getting your printer to print your new Albert version bible ?

  57. From what l understand that BAV is going to use part of money from the sales of the DOS land in Jalan Telik Likas to fimnace the CC. He is not going to mortgage anything becuse bank usually don't take NGO property as security to finance development. We have been talking a lot and months but no concrete action to remove the bad hats. we should expose this to the press even we have to face the embarrassment ourselves and the consequences because he is not willing to sit down to talk. There is no choice. Even right now, people have been talking about this in town. The longer we wait, the more the church has to suffer. To go to the press, we need someone to meet the press officially.

    1. From earlier postings by some people, CC was to be financed by contributions from parishioners. As I can see BAV is very impatient with the slow support and BAV is trying to expedite the CC, what are the ways he is going to raise the adequate money (not start with inadequate fund).

Reading the other posts here, am I right to assume that the money from the sale of DOSland in Likas is already gone to finance his other pet projects. Would BAV confirm this?

So how much money is still left for CC?

You seem to "understand" that and that is not good enough. This must be confirmed by BAV.

A range of pre-emptive measures have been proposed here and going to the Courts would be the best option on this CC when proper procedures are not followed. Going to the press, there are the ups and downs of this approach.

BAV's leadership style (dictatorial, arrogant, controlling, proud, thinks he is always right, vindictive, abusive, witchcraft (controlling spirit), bad PR, cant be challenged (i.e he is NOT (though he mind think he is) an "alpha male". Alpha males like to be challenged. Its part of being a real man!
2.His doctrine of leadership (very Watchman Nee) He should read Gene Edwards "A Tale of Three Kings". It might help him adjust. And certainly please read John Maxwell (" If people don't like you, they won't do business with you" is his key maxim. Hey, BAV it's as simple as that so why choose to remain like the Red Heart Queen in Alice in Wonderland?
      3. Pastors must serve God's people and God's purposes. The pastoral epistles of Paul are VERY CLEAR- "A bishop must NOT be OVERBEARING".
      4. BAV is a spendthrift. Living in luxury at the church's expense. Shameful to say the least-no different from dictators in Africa, Asia & South America,
      5. You don't listen! My advice is you better do so to regain some respect that might be left for you by doing the following immediately: Cancel the 30 million project; transfer Lollies and Co back to Tawau; appoint Moses Chin as dean ;auction off some of the aircons in the Bishop's "lodge"; sell off the cars bought for Mary Poppins; and if all this fails the train you are travelling on as reached its destination and its time to get off. (This last piece of wisdom is from Larry King!!)

      Delete
    2. Your suggestions in 5 is very expensive now for ASC and ADOS.

I had seen BAV through and through in 2005/6 and I tried in successive AGMs of ASC in 2006, 2007, 2008 and finally in 2009 to alert members but support was not forthcoming.
When you wrote " Cancel the 30 million project", you can confirm that the contract already signed? If that is the case ASC and ADOS is almost "finished" now.

Why you don't recommend BAV to go to solve this 'impasse'?

  59. Sermon by BAV on Chinese New Year Service is really out. Shameful to hear it from a Bishop. We regret to attend the service because BAV again is back to the pulpit to scold. BAV, WAKE UP CALL FOR YOU! The church members dislike the way you spend the money like no body's business for the lights and the pews because you didn't call for quotations and THAT ALONE CAN WARRANT YOU TO JAIL! BAV, your continous scolding will not shut the people because no body else respect you anymore.

Please speak courteously and be mindful, the pulpit is meant to glorify God and not to be used for your convenience to scold repeatedly. All your scolding from the pulpit has lost most respects because you have misused God's authority to glorify your own ego!

Hello, we do not need to speak with our mouth through this blog. Who cares whether the new year cake is sticky to shut us up. By the way, we believe our blessings are from God and not from BAV. WHO is BAV? WHY SHOULD WE CARRY HIS BAG? God has given us wisdom to discern BAV is beginning to behave as if he is GOD. If BAV thinks the Indonesian carry his bag and treat him like God, please go and serve them there in Indonesia.

  60. Don't accuse the Free Masons for the church's crisis. It is purely AV himself. Why was it there was no problem when Bishop Yong and other past bishops were bishops and why when AV became the bishop, now we have so many problems.Yes,anonymous 23 Jan said it all.

House of Blessings in Telupid- why must an 8 million complex building be built in Teupid!According to the Diocesan Bulletin Issue no.36 December 2011 I quote- The new complex will incorporate a worship hall with a seating capacity of 2000.There will be a space for a resource center in the front porch and a substantial conference room above the porch. The rear of the building will be a double storeyed and will house offices, equipment rooms and ministry rooms.

How many Anglicans are worshipping in Telupid? Rev.Clarence Foo should know.To dump so much money in a complex where it is seldom made used of,don't you all think this bishop has gone over the limit in his vision?BAV now that you have time to go visiting churches why not go to Telupid and do evangelism first then see whether you can come up with 2000!!

    1. Very Sad that until today our Bishops & Pastors are still in denial mode.
First, they accused the elected PCC for spreading lies that caused the disunity.
Secondly, they accused the unhappy 7.30am ASC parishioners because they wanted Archdeacon Mosses Chin to be the Dean of ASC. The 7.30am also wanted "Deputy
Bishop " Stella Lo to be transferred out of ASC.
Now, they accused the Free Masons for the Cathedral crisis.
These shows how our Bishops & Pastors are so out of touch with all the congregations & parishioners on the ground.
Please turun padang to build human relationship & not concrete monuments.
If all our Bishops & Pastors are sincere in solving the crisis, I suggest that you guys better stop pointing fingers at other ppl for the crisis.
All you need to do is reform & repent. Don't be too arrogant with so much pride.
The crisis was brought about because of:-
Dictatorial Issues, Not transparent in administrative & accounting issues.
Giving voting rights to all his staff & Pastors in PCC meetings.
Over spent money on renovations & changing of carpets after carpets, RM 40K lighting, Pews vanishing without calling for quotations.
Buying expensive cars for Bishop Vun, Mary Poppins & Mission Impossible Director.
The heartless treatments on God's ordained servants.ie all the resigned priests.
The ordination of a half baked Rev.Philip Lo who had no theology training at all except Moore College. ( not surprised Bishop Vun also shown him the questions papers before exam ? ).
Very soon might have to get Bishop Vun to change his surname to Bishop " LAI ".

  61. BAV is not going to reveal any of his plans for discussions other than those already decided and passed by his standing committee and the Chancellor. How are these projects going to be maintained is not known.Maybe he thinks God will take care of the rest since he said all these are his visions for God and also to glorify Him. He does not need your meager givings as being told off by Mary Poppins.God will provide !!!

This is like 'catch me if you can and if you dare' seems to be in the bishop's mind.No amount of pressure on him will make him bow to your accusations. This is a battle of wills and see who can outdo the other! If the whole diocese come out to protest against him.then nothing is impossible.

  62. Enough of talking. Concrete action needed. Will someone take a lead? The following can be done:
    1. Signature campaign for the removal of BAV as dean of ASC; the transfer out of Stella and Philip Lo; the transfer out of the rector (good man but tainted by association)
    2. Appeal to the provincial archbishop (and cc to Rowan Williams ABC)
    3. Seek assistance of the Yong brothers
    4. The call for the resignation of the Standing Committee
    5. Seek counsel of Diocesan Chancellor & provincial chancellor (Lawyer Dato Stanley Isaacs of St Mary's Cathedral KL)
    6. An arbitrator to be brought in.
    7. As a last resort MACC & legal action (VERY LAST RESORT!)

With all the office staff employed by him and guarded by his cronies ,no one can even get near to the necessary documents/accounts of the church so something must be done to force the bishop to make them available for all members, they have a right to know of everything. They all have a share of the church, don't treat it like your own.

2.We always reap what we sow, foe eg, if we sow smiling ,love and respect each time, we will reap smiling, love and respect from members too.

3.The Christian way of turning around is still to repent and be humble, learn from the mistake, forgive one another and reconciliation in the Lord and finally look forward to achieve Christ's purpose for us!

  69. An open letter to the Rt.Revd Bishop Albert Vun.
    Dear Bishop,
I am sure that the issues raised in this blog has caused you and your wife great consternation. Perhaps your health has taken a toll and sleep evades you night after night. Fight or flee? For now its fight. Deny, decry, despise, judge, criticise, threaten, dig in your heels, condemn the bloggers as rebels and instruments of division, shame, discord and of the devil himself.
This is what you are doing with the aid of your band of Albertristas. (As in Anwaristas)
I appeal to you to PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE humble your self and listen. Listen to the godly and earnest counsel of persons like Archbishop YPC, Dr Philip Lyn, and the diocesan chancellor. Seek their advice for they wouldn't want to give unsolicited advise. The advise might hurt you and not be what you want to hear but you must.
    So, first seek advise.
Second, listen to God. Why has this happened? It has because of your style of leadership. There is no need to elaborate any further as this blog has listed them out. Could God be trying to get your aTtention? Remember bishop this is HIS church. When Moses labelled God's people as rebels and struck the rock (instead of speaking to it) he was immediately disqualified from future leadership. The reason is simple: if you don't love God's people you can't serve them. Ask yourself-do you love God's people or the ministry? Do you build up lives and relationships or mortar and bricks?
Third, God's people are hurting bishop-HURTING! They no longer find joy, peace and motivation when attending the ASC services. Stella and Philip Lo are a major source of contention and the rector is caught between a rock and a hard place.
You MUST listen to the cries, concerns and sighs of God's battered, bruised, tired, hurting people whom God purchased through the shed blood of Christ. The church is His inheritance.
Fourth, stop being offensive, ballistic, defensive and combative. But humbly search your heart, seek advise, listen to God and properly regard the flock under your care. If you want to redeem yourself do the following:
1 set a better example for your colleagues. John Maxwell says we become like the leaders we follow. So Stella and Philip are like that because you are like that. Jesus said "by the fruits you shall know them".As much as children reflect their parents so too staff reflect their bosses!
2 put the 30million project on hold.
3 release yourself from being dean.
    4. dialogue with the key leaders of this blog.
5 BUT MOST IMPORTANT-stop striking God's people because when struck the rock he failed to realise that the rock was Christ! You wouldn't intentionally strike Christ, will you?
I pray daily for you and Mary to be delivered and for God to do that which is fittinf
    g in HIS sight.
The word of the LORD is God's people are hurting and they need healing, restoration and hope. Will you stop beating them and treating them with indignity and disrespect?
A brother priest in God's church.

  70. People have been praying for AV for 6 long years and no signs of his repenting.Infact,
he is more and more worse by the day.He says he fears no man except God.What he is doing is God's vision. If that is so how come the flock do not have the same vision and can discern something is not right!

If he really cares for his flock and listens to them he would have immediately called for meetings to discuss things as,it is he says there is no crisis and still goes ahead with his plan.Where is he and his wife?? I heard they are somewhere in Africa at the invitation of some priest in one of the Anglican churches there. He can still leave the flock as if nothing is wrong in his church.A bishop with dignity would have resigned long ago.As I see it,once he is got rid of,ADOS will inherit lots of problems from him,the Kokol Hill center, his unlicensed schools, missions set up by him overseas ,those AV's character style of pastors trained by him,the expensive cars under his care etc..Members if nothing is done more and more problems will appear once his CC starts and also his House of Blessings in Telupid and where else?

  71. AV does not like people to write him open letters. He said he will not answer through the internet so don't waste your time dealing with him in this area.He said he does not bother to read the blogs.I hope Mr.Thien has written an official letter to AV as he has promised before he went to Australia.

    ReplyDelete

    1. BAV doesn't want to entertain William Thien's letters sent through internet is merely an EXCUSE for him to escape his wrongs. He simply says whatever he likes according to his advantage.

Why BAV can use emails as the official letters to terminate his priest within 24 hours? He can communicate with everybody else in email BUT when he was asked to explain his wrong by our brother Thien's humble letter in email form, he said he will not answer through internet.

Have you noticed BAV, John Yeo, and his cronies priests use Ipad to preach? We do not believe email is not their mode of correspondence. Resigned pastors & priest, do keep all your emails to prove how many mails BAV has corresponded with you through internet versus mails sent by post or hand. He is just giving us false hope and delaying us.

  72. During the recent clergy retreat, BAV mentioned that Archbishop asked if he would like to talk about the issues raised by this blog. BAV said he didn't need to talk about it. He justified to the clergy that Singapore has more problems than Sabah. Singapore church attendance is retracting, while DOS is growing. BAV just chided his superior and gloated about it before the entire clergy. Imagine the seeds he is planting. We do not need to heed correction if the numbers are good? Is this the example we are setting for our younger clergy? "As long as the church is growing, I can disregard everyone."

BAV talked about the House of Celebration being a training center for future clergy. Traditional theological seminaries are too liberal he alleged; and graduates are theologically trained but lacked ministry experience. Both arguments are flawed. All our priests are trained in seminaries, including BAV. If seminaries' teachings are flawed, then we would have a bunched of theologically inept priests and have rampant heretical practices in DOS. By that argument, BAV, a graduate of a Western seminary is also unfit theologically? So a newly minted training center will be better than established seminaries like Singapore Bible College, STS or Oxford University from which BAV graduated? Any institution of higher learning is only as good as its faculty. Who will be teaching at House of Celebration? What sort of qualification do they have? Are we offering degree or diploma? Will it be recognized internationally?

The second argument that fresh grads are not ministry ready because they lacked practical experience. Welcome to the real world. Any employers can tell you that's always the case. That's why you have on the job training.

The two arguments that BAV put forward for building the House of Celebration sounded very dodgy. Many questions left unaswered. We must press for more answers.

It is very clear that BAV will not cede to the demands to answer and clarify on the many allegations highlighted in this blog. What's next? We need to take real actions since attempts for diplomacy have been brushed aside.

    1. I agree with anonymous 28 Jan 6.03am. BAV has written on the front page of bulletin about himself being having achieved better than any other bishops in the province. If a person's heart is right, he will treat the ministries as glory unto God and not for self glorification. How can our BAV criticise the Diocese of Singapore and concluded only Diocese of Sabah has growth.

Do you know the numbers produced by BAV as have claimed as growth is not real? I believe none in any other Diocese will do like what our Diocese Of Sabah has done. People worshiping with us for more than 30years were asked to go for confirmation again. Now you see how these growth were boosted artificially?

Also the Sunday attendance has reduced significantly over the past 2 or 3 years but the attendance reported still looks not dropped. The figure is not correctly reported.

    2. As far as I know Albert Vun studied at Wycliff Hall, Oxford which at that time (early) 1980s was not yet part of Oxford University but a federation of colleges validated by the CNAA. Of course Wycliff student could do Oxdord degrees but did Albert? A quick check of his degree will show if Oxford or the CNAA conferred it. Integrity is everything, isn't it?

  73. Please ask Bishop Datuk Albert Vun Cheong Fui to give a working paper on the training center for future clergy. How would that supposedly noble project be feasible in term of costs and benefits? How long would this training center TC take to be self financed? Would this TC as part and parcel of the CC or HC be financed by the church and the public donation? It is public knowledge that all educational projects would need to be financed by external sources if the quality is to be maintained. Can BAV tell us what are his sources in the TC to enable it to be sustained?

Before we talk of the TC, lets talk about the whole project CC or HC. Please give the details on the massive projects to avoid it being a 'white elephant'.

  74. Why did the bishop want to single out DOS of Singapore to talk bad about it? Plain and simple.Common sense will tell us that the former Archbishop must have written to him just like the current Archbishop being in the same brotherhood asking him in a nice way to explain the allegations. By saying that he needs not reply them, shows how disrespectful to his superiors he is.So Mr. Thien,be prepared for not getting any answers from him and you may get a 'GET OUT' order.Get a body guard to go with you, just in case this MAD bishop does something funny!!

By boasting how his diocese outshines others, shows how arrogant and egoistic he is .This is self glorification.Jesus never asked his disciples to build anything to glorify him.Infact all his disciples were just simple people and most were fishermen.Jesus wanted them to follow his example ,humble, kind, compassionate, loving, forgiving etc.. nothing like AV style.Jesus put his priorities in saving souls, not how much money can you give, how often do you go to church, otherwise no burial ground for you and the priest may not even want to perform the funeral service for you. This is the sort of brain washing given to his young pastors. No matter how busy and tired Jesus was,he always found the time for anybody who needed him.He never told his disciples that the more numbers they got the more God would bless them! Getting numbers but not saving souls-what is the point?

Young men and women,if you want to give your lives to God better go faraway from this AV.He is not preaching the right doctrine. He is brainwashing you and he is trying to get rid of the senior priests in the diocese.Once he gets all the young priests to be on his side, the senior ones will be edged out. Then we will have a whole church of pastors trained in AV's style.Read the bible, see what sort of qualities God wants for you to be a pastor. What does AV offer to entice you to join up as priests under him? He seems to be in a hurry getting any Tom, Dick or Harry to be ordained as long as they are on his side.Objections of certain people being ordained went unheeded!

BAV ,if you want to have a new type of training ground for your new recruits, get out from the Anglican church, start your new church, get your new followers, use your own money, your own land, your own constitutions. Then you can be your own boss,no superiors above you and you are the KING.Mary Poppins, the newly ordained Deacon and his wife (deputy bishop) can go with you and 'Good riddance'.Try the same method like you do to us with your new members in your new church and see how many will cling on to you.In the past we had a few priests leaving the Anglican church to start their new churches,so be like them,be a MAN and do the same and nobody will say anything. You must have forgotten that in your craziness for self glorification, you are in an Anglican church, you have superiors, you have constitutions to follow and the members have been worshiping in the church since they were Sunday School kids and you have driven many away due to your wrong type of teaching. Some were deceived by you but now their eyes are open.

How can a bishop say, take no heed to any of the criticisms.A church full of people does not mean a thing.I think 99% other than your family and cronies are not for you!Don't be misled by the numbers.

The signature campaign is a good start. If he says numbers show growth in church, let's see how many are for him! You are not wanted anymore so be like a MAN,don't hang on and leave gracefully,Looks like you are daring the members to do the inevitable.

    ReplyDelete
  75. As I see it,

If not careful,ADOS crisis will lead to a provincial one since AV wants to drag the Singapore Diocese into his crisis.Don't compare your diocese with the others.Their members don't cry out in pain like yours do.Their priests are not like some of yours.Right from the beginning we knew that you wanted to be the outstanding bishop and how right we are.You are outstanding but in a bad light. You like to ridicule your pastors, members and those who go against you and now looks like you are not listening to the Archbishop! Start your own church, don't create havoc in the Anglican church at the expense of the church fund.Your cousin-William is a man of principals. He started his own church,he has his own followers, bought his own land and built his own church with their own fund. He did not use the Anglican church fund like his own and when he left,he left on his own.Followers were free either to follow or chose to stay and why can't you do the same, bring your own flock if you have any with you and start evangelizing and making your vision for God comes true if you think your vision is also God's vision. You will have a free hand in everything and nobody will accuse you of anything.

    1. ASC has been built by so many sacrifices of the past and present congregation despite some hiccups now and then.

But this one is definitely going to ruin ASC and in turn ruin the ADOS if we leave it too long to the fancies of BAV. I know what lives in him right now if he treasure his "datukship" so much... I think he got his dstukship too soon after he became a bishop.. You go and look at the scroll and then you will find out for yourself and in whose name the Datukship is given...

I think after this crisis of GREED, only the blood of Christ can clean up the mess and the dedicated Anglicans can rebuild it again but it is not going to be easy.

  76. I cannot help thinking that the Standing committee and the Chancellor are partly to be blamed by giving so much power to this bishop.I heard they bent backwards to accommodate him and now look at this mess.Don't they have any guilty feelings at all? They are still representing the parishioners, they should resign to show protests.Let the members choose their own PCC-not the ones put up by BAV to be nominated. Not one of these in the committee so far has come out to say anything-are you also like the bishop-just ignore them if what you told the bishop to do is true? Have you all vowed to BAV to keep everything secret? Do you or do you not know about the bishop's plan for his mega projects? Is everything done then only he seeks your rubber stamp! The members have a right to know. They care for their church.

If the Archbishop's request is not heeded then you will all know what sort of person this bishop is.How true his character painted by the members is-all are true.He just does not have an answer to all the questions. How could a bishop come out to say all the theological training given in seminaries are too liberal. What does he mean by that? Does he mean that ,the priests must be in authority at all times, they know what is best for their sheep, lead their flock by the nose, cannot query this or that!

I have to give great credit to his cousin WV who like a man with dignity and principles left the church by resigning gracefully. He felt that he would not be able to do what he wanted to do in an Anglican church so he left.Yes,he did take with him some Anglicans with him and together they built up their own church from scratch not creating havoc in the Anglican church. So likewise AV if he is brave enough, like he said he fears no man only God,can do the same. This is a challenge to him, don't hide behind ADOS to do ungodly things which we all know they are not from God.I can say he is a coward, although he keeps saying he is not frightened, look at his face to prove it.He is only putting on a brave front-how can one not feel frightened if he has abused church funds and now members start coming out wanting to have answers. Putting on a brave smiling face does not mean anything.God can look into the heart. He can fool us but not God.Don't be misled by the flock too by putting on smiling faces and shaking your hands ,they are just being polite-not like you ignoring Archbishop's letter.Luckily the flock do not follow your example, these are clever sheep. They know it is not them that have gone astrayed ,it is their shepherd who is, and he is leading some 'blind pastors' as well. These blind pastors also putting on brave smiling faces (told by AV,I suppose)to act as if nothing is happening. BAV got his Datukship because he is the chosen (by mistake) bishop of the Sabah Anglican community.Who knows AV anyway if not because of the Anglican church!

  80. I have seen the thousands of white little lights in the carpark of ASC. BAV obviously find great comfort in this physical presentation in the ASC grounds. If you read the Bible properly, All Saints when they pass on from the earth into eternity, the true saints would carry with them the lights of Jesus Christ as we are cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. The holier the saints, the more lights would be the framework of the saints in the other world. At the judgement day, we will be identified by the lights we carry in our souls. Those with darkness would sure to end up in hell.

So BAV cannot impart such "holy lit bodies" of the saints in his diocese and so he is substituting such white lights by the physical ones as we see in the carpark.

BAV might have seen such scenario and would like to remind his parishioners of such development but when we talk of spiritual things, it is into eternity but such little WHITE lights irrespective how many thousand are only temporary as what are seen is only a falsehood and a very costly one too.

Can all parishioners at ASC now cry out to the Lord Jesus for this eternal lights on our souls? We don't need BAV to mislead the true saints of such falsehood.

We may draw some parallel here with the iguana which had eaten a chicken and note of V shape is seen carved in the tail. So when saints achieve holiness in Christ, we derive such light from Christ as Jesus is the light.

    ReplyDelete
  84. From the new blog written about the Kokol centre, l can see there seems to be endless soil erosion and building structure problems ahead. About 2 years ago, a few concerned brothers from Good Sam went up and later gave BAV a report on the soil conditions at KoKol centre. He said he didn't want to comment on the report and he didn't bother to take any action. See this what is happening now because BAV don't listen to advice.

  85. I stayed at Kokol for two nights with a group recently and it scares me when I saw the erosion. It was raining heavily too. But good thing nothing bad happened. But I admit the building is very nice, good furniture, spacious, good view, cool climate. The food was good too. The mattress also very comfortable and the price was reasonable and affordable.

But there is a room, Elijah Room which has the best view, double level but out of bound. I heard that this room is a private room, only BAV can stay there. This room other people cannot rent, reserved for the boss as and when he likes. Like when he feels like it, he can drive up and stay, no need worry some other people rented already. Like private room like that.

And I also heard this Elijah Room is the best decorated, with furniture from outside Sabah. He sent his Secretary for special mission to buy the best furniture that Chan Furniture don't have. The furniture comes in container. Even the Project Director cannot decide as his class not good enough. This room has to be special and stand out among the rest.

    1. For your information the Elijah Room has a deep crack appearing on the wall already. This could be due to the instability of the ground foundation in veiw of the soil erosion happening. Our ignorant Building Director told one parishioner that no piling work is needed since the building is sitting on a rock! wow!!! Talk as if he can see through the ground!!! No wonder BAV promoted him to be Deacon.

  86. I was told in BAV sunday sermon he says that being the Bishop appointed, he should be allowed to do his job without interference which he compares to an dentist drilling a tooth, should be left to do his job because he knows the best. I agreed to some extend but being any professional, when entrusted to do carry out his duties, he must be guided with the code of ethnics. The professional can be sent to jail if he betrays the trust given to him to do the job. He is given the power but he must excerise it wisely. Even the PM or CM has given the mandate to govern but if they don't perform wisely, they betray the trust given by the public and they can be removed. In the same manner, if the BAV betrays the trust given to him, he should resign or be removed if he refuses to change. In his sermon, he also says indirectly hinted that if a leader keeps listening to comments, he can't never can things done. I agree to some extend but he must use his veto power wisely. He can't just bulldoze constructive criticism just because you are a CEO. Even the PM or CM listen and do make decisions base on feed back from public. Do you think a church Bishop should consider feed back from the parishioners too.

    1. If the appointed Bishop can do everything, then there is no need for PCC or the Standing Committee and so BAV can act alone in all matters involving the diocese and ASC holding dual positions which appear to be in conflict for far too long already.

So it is timely that he be removed to avoid any more excuses to ruin ASC and ADOS further.

The Kokol project need a full investigation now as there is new blog on that damaged project which is going to drain away all the resources of ASC and ADOS - very sad indeed.

How can a bishop have special treatment in staying in a VIP room in Kokol center? Since he is the bishop I suppose he stays there for free whereas other Anglicans have to pay to stay there.Members helped to build this center and have to pay to stay with the bishop's permission and the bishop gets to enjoy the the best facilities for free.Where is the logic? He uses the church facilities as if they are his own.He even has a special parking lot in the church compound and try parking there and see what happens? Even if it is vacant, nobody is allowed to park there. The security guard will come shouting and ordering whosoever parks there to get out or else he will be in great trouble with the bishop!

All those project only decided and plan by Datuk & his director .
How much funding had be raised for every project ? None published in SUNDAY BULLETIN.How much fund are short for every project, we never knew. How to settled the outstanding amount ? Nobody know. To overcome the funding issued, this might lead Datuk Vun to let go the LIKAS land .

He is not a professional such as a dentist or a pilot who have a deep sense of responsibility. His responsibility is to himself and to his cronies not the church. He, as a Bishop of a Church should display the atributes of Christ which is love, patience, longsuffering, goodness, kindness, and compassion to which there is no law. Can you see even one of this attributes in him. If he wants to compare to anyone it should be non other than Christ Himself and not any man who live on this earth. Shame on him if he dare not compare himself to even one atribute of Christ. He is trying to justify his misdeeds but dare not say it directly and answer the accusations. So what are the strategies now to prevent the destruction of the Cathedral & ADOS.

The whole prevailing scenario in term of publicity can be worsening as more and more people get to know the malaise in ASC and ADOS. So blame ourselves (most of us) for complacency even know the true situation. Many may think the problems would go away by itself. Many are also too busy with their daily lives and living in hard times.

Since there maybe criminal implications, it is good to start with a Police Report to be followed by a Report to the MACC as corruption is suspect, and then a Court action to stop the CC in the present scenario. This would strengthen our case.

For the Police Report, it is helpful if someone well versed with this case print out a few pages of this blog to support the Police Report and it can be classified as a commercial crime.

We can lodge the Police Report so that investigation may follow.

How many of us would like to go to the Police Station?
After the POlice Report, we can call the press to highlight the crisis for further attention.

  106. I agreed with Anonymous, Feb 23 2.06am The committee members have been reading the blog which is on for almost 4 months. I am sure most of the committee members are learned respected people. Some committee members say not all what was written in the blog was true. Then they should be responsible to inform the parishioners what is true and what is untrue. They should call a dialogue to explain to the parishioners. You are elected by the parishioners to represent them. So you don't need to get BAV consent to do so. You can have the dialogue outside the church compound. To remain silent, means all the committee members endorsed to what BAV had been doing. May be they are too scare to do so because of BAV high pitch voice and he uses Godly words to defend himself and embarrass those who dare to speak against him. Dear committee members and stand com members, you may be obligated to BAV in some manner but you are duty bound to act wisely and protect the church interests. You got nothing to worry. Very odd ,isn't it? Plo better tell us how you managed to satisfy the authorities and wrangled an OC from them.According to one blogger who is very well versed with projects who posted a blog recently said that no plans submitted,so who is right, it is not so easy to get such a fast approval without detailed study.Could it be plans were submitted after the buiiding was built? Could a building be finished within 2 months, that is approval in October and OC in Dec!Now who is to be blamed-the authorities or Plo since he like BAV also knows all! I think what he should do is to show all parishioners documents of approval from the authorities and posted in the church for all to see,the date of sending the plans to the authorities, the starting date of the project ,the date of declaring the center opened and the date of the OC being approved. The parishioners have a right to know since it was built with their hard earned money. The reason why the bloggers blog things that the leaders said not true, then it is the fault of the leaders because they keep everything in hiding and from this you will know the members are in the dark of things happening in the church.Come out and make a stand! Your names are also being dragged with those favoured ones.Even if the numbers outnumber the few who are against what BAV is doing, never mind,we will hold you as heroes and 'fighting for God' as his faithful witnesses. Those representatives of the members know what is going on but they are not telling, why? 112. I just learn that the govt is going to launch the construction of a RM400 mil convention center near the wharf at Tg Lipat. The seating capacity is to be more than 5,000 and complete with other facilities such as improved road network to accommodate the traffic congestion caused. I wonder how big is ASC convention center and how serious is the traffic congestion caused at the Karamunsing traffic lights intersection. The cost to upgrade the intersection and road network would be enormous. Who is going to pay for it.?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It is not comparable of the two proposed projects - the Tg Lipat is funded by the Government and other private investors and how viable that be is to be felt in years to come.

The proposed CC in ASC if it ever goes ahead in the perceived format cannot be RM400m as who would pay for that. Can anyone ever make that kind of money back? If it is RM400m, it would bring ASC and ADOS to ruins, if without outside funding. Even if it is about RM30m-50m, it is not viable as lots of maintenance costs would be needed before adequate revenue can be derived.

Please also take note, there are natural limitations for public use in any projects/properties/facilities of ASC as a religious setup hence potential for good income is lesser in this context. I think we are aware of this.

I think the brief proposal I made in 2009 is still superior to the one CC now proposed in 2011 - costwise in the context of funding, operations and maintenance.

Since he is the Project Director of Anglician Diocese of Sabah, he should knows all. But mind you, come rainy season, you will bound to see the whole All Saints cathedral compound flooded like before but this time it will be more serious. 2 more clergy is forced to consider resigning before the end of this year.

BAV is so arrogant that our prayers could not change him at all because God leaves it to BAV whether he wants to reform.

The reason for not reforming is that BAV wants to destroy the Diocese of Sabah and build a completely new empire of his own so that he will be KING over all the crony assistant bishops, crony priests, crony pstors and workers and crony lay leaders who have no brain and principles of their own.

BAV is using ASC and ADOS financial resources to buy the hearts of the crony assistant bishops, crony clergy, crony pastors and workers with big salary increment, bonuses and allowances.

These unprincipled 'servants' of God only look after their own financial interests and high positions at the expense of ASC and ADOS and God's mission for salvation.

They do not want to or dare to tell BAV in the face directly that he is wrong and that he is destroying ASC and ADOS.

All the good works of the early missionaries sent from oeverseas and of Bishop Chhoa and Bishop Yong are going down the drain.

Most or many of the financial resources and lands applied by Bishop Chhoa and Bishop Yong are used up and sold by BAV.

BAV has recently sold another piece of prime land in Tawau just behind St. Patrick's Church to L A Hotel.

That is why BAV and his family can live in a 'palace' like rumah bishop with the most expensive furnishing besides having a fleet of 4 expensive cars.

BAV clearly wants to remove all right thinking and principled clergy and workers.

Canon Ronnie Liew is one such clergy who is forced out of ADOS.

ADOS lost another valuable worker and BAV is laughing all the way to the bank.

In the end ADOS will only have crony assistant bishops, clergy and workers who are useless and preach rubbish in the pulpit every Sunday. These people have lost all their integrity and credibility and are not fit to use the pulpit to lie and heap all praises on their hero and benefactor - BAV.

The Bible said Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy.

BAV has stolen from the Diocese and has killed the souls of many clergy, workers axed by him.

Now he concentrates on destroying the Church of Christ (ADOS) to build his own completely new empire all under the guise of his zeal for evangelism and mission work - HOW SLIMEY AND CUNNING.

  116. For all you know the spirit of God has left AV!! That is why all your fervent prayers are not answered.ADOS is going down the drain.Who wants to cling on to a leader that is not a man of God anymore.Going to church is a farce. What is there to listen in church except to a bunch of bishop's cronies speaking in 'his language' Still want to give to CC?

  117. BAV must be smiling.another one gone, some more to follow suit.Soon, this diocese will be full of BAV's cronies and all pastors with principles are going to resign. Those that remain will be the ones who carry the bishop's legs.Aren't we going to do something? Just let all the good priests go just like that?BAV will never change so why not we 'change him'?

  121. Dear members of ASC and William Thien,,

We need to make a few motions at the AGM on 1st April, 2012.

We need to call for various reports on certain projects undertaken by
    the Dean and the Bishop.

We cannot leave most matters to speculation and need to resolve
the whole matters raised at the above-mentioned blog at the coming AGM.

I need some supporters to sign as seconders to the few motions we can
submit to the Parish office prior to 14days of the AGM.

The latest date of submission is on Sunday 18 March and we need to do them
    a few days earlier.

Please give me a call on 012-8380897 if we can discuss the important issues.

  122. ASC & ADOS

Do you agree with me on the hierarchy of the administration of any organization more so with religious body especially for a set up of 100 years and more?

In the Anglican Diocese of Sabah ADOS, we know there is the Bishop of Sabah BS at the top who does and knows everything. I don’t know what is the system within after the BS. How is that hierarchy? Please ask the BS to lay that out for public consumption of the members or who call themselves Anglicans.

On the All Saints Cathedral ASC, it has a long tradition of hierarchy in the administration of the church. Please define Bishop, Dean, Rector, Canon, Reverend, Deacon and Pastor and lay readers by their roles they play in the church.

In ASC, there are 4 departments namely English, Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia and Filipino. At the top we have the Bishop, Dean and the Rector assisted by pastors and reverend but I do not see any Deacons there. The English department – the most significant department as a tradition of ASC is led by a pastor and assisted by 4 reverends. The Rector is almost in every department except the BM department.

What does the Dean do if that is not the role of the Rector? Is there a duplication of duty here? Who occupy the Deanery when the Bishop also the Dean live in the Bishop lodge?
Where is the Rector staying in his many roles in ASC?

Is there an evolution or revolution at ADOS and ASC?

The Bishop wrote in the ASC bulletin of 11 March, 2012 “Together with the local churches, I am also putting personal effort to plant new churches” when Jesus builds his church (lasting spiritual and physical ones) where ADOS and ASC declares “Rooted and built up in Christ”. Is Jesus Christ demoted or demeaned here?

Lets ADOS and ASC be guided back in orderly manner in Christ.

  123. Coffee shop talk,

A non Anglican asked, if the members of ADOS love God and their church, how come non comes out to take action against this bishop? Don't tell me they just let him squander everything away? Many of the members are well qualified people,by reading the blogs they only know how to complain and they just stand by helplessly to watch the powerful bishop gets away with everything.Worse still, those members who are supposed to represent the members in committees even encouraged the bishop to just ignore the crisis. What sort of committee members are they? They side with the bishop rather than the parishioners.Parishioners, rise up.Why can't you all do something-you can't deal with one man how can you be God's witnesses?? Those who spoke so strongly, where are they?Have they given up and let this bishop be in control? Having heard this,I am ashamed of myself of being an Anglican for not being able to do anything because I am only a small 'nobody' in church. The powerful ones are not willing to take the initiative.

  124. URGENT please

We as members of ASC need to move some motions at the AGM on 1st April, 2012 at 3pm.

Some motions would be specific for ASC, while some can be directed to the Bishop via ASC.

!. Request the Dean for full report on the building of CC and the programmes within the complex with financial data within 30 days of this AGM or even earlier.

Rational is that transparency is important for the RM30m for the construction costs plus all other costs to implement all programmes which be excessive burden for the 'shrinking' church. The renovation and annual maintenance costs can be astronomical. Is the project self financed and viable to be sustained?

    2. Request the Dean for full report on Kokol Prayer Summit which appears to be in use but with faulty features.

Rational: Due to lack of transparency on the implementation of the said project, many questions have not been answered. If the OC is issued, it must be exhibited here to give assurance of security to the users of the premises subject to landslide and cracked walls in the building.

    3. Request the Bishop to give a full report on the string of resignations of qualified and trained clergies which had been a drain on the resources of the ADOS and ASC.

Rational: ASC had been supportive of all education and training of clergies in Sabah and damage to the image of the church is inevitable with such sudden resignations and some with very short notices.

    4. Request the Bishop to give full report on the disposal and purchases of properties and land within the ADOS.

Rational: The reasons must be disclosed for such transactions as the church is not in the business of assets speculation. Some of these transactions have direct impact on ASC.

    5. Request the Bishop to give the summaries of financial statement of ADOS for the past ten years.

Rational: This would help the parishioners and members of the Anglican church in the giving culture as accountability must be seen to be practised throughout the diocese.

Please polish these 5 motions for me and then agree to second them on paper and then come to AGM to move them to be approved at the AGM. You can have more..

Then we can go from here to any further action deemed necessary.

    God bless all,
    Joshua Y. C. Kong

    ReplyDelete
  125. Don't push any more...

Just be seconders of my 5 motions now.

    Quick..

    ReplyDelete
  126. About the motions, the excuse by the Bishop would be concerning affairs of ADOS.

So to address them to ASC AGM, the Dean would likely reject them for not really relevant.

Since ASC is the mother and anchor church of ADOS, everything that affect the ADOS also affect
the ASC especially the financial matters when ASC had been the main contributor to the coffer of ADOS
for decades. Most of the important and major items of ADOS over the decades had been held at the
    ASC.

So all issues can be brought up at the ASC level and forwarded to the ADOS level.

If we do not take the initiatives at the ASC level, who else would do so?

The Synod is likely a rubber stamp for 5 years or even longer.

The Standing Committee is likely indiferent to what the Bishop is doing.

The House of Bishop would likely be ineffective as BAV had already attacked the
exArchiboshops as reported in the ASC websites.

So it is likely BAV already overrun the ADOS like a private property, would be unstoppable.

STOP the rot, stop the cronyism syndrome.

The impression given by William Thien WT is that BAV would not allow my motions as they concern the ADOS.

WT has spoken to me that some people is doing a range of actions to stop the BAV including legal actions.
But how costly and effective that would be, nobody would know. You see if we bring up legal action against BAV,
he would use church money to engage lawyers to defend himself. How many more years to go on like that?

What I am trying to tell the BAV with the 5 motions if accepted by the ASC PCC is that the Church as a whole
including ASC has been disparaged beyond revognition with the prevailing website which has been denied by
BAV as false information or lies.

Since BAV does not want to acknowledge the weblog, I cannot raise a motion on that.

With the 5 motions, I want to convey the message that BAV must give us written reports if there are lies in the weblog.

We must settle the major important issues within the ADOS and silence is not the answer. If we go out of the church like
lodging Police Reports, we would also wash socalled 'dirty linen' in public.

Once we receive the written reports, we can then resolve the issues in either ways already proposed in the weblog.

I understand there is an exodus of Anglican members at the anglican heritage church, but the BAV did not even
mention it in the last Sunday's bulletin.

If any one wants to proceed to second the 5 motions, we can proceed just to apply pressure on BAV to come to his
    senses.

It is so ridiculous that members are so voiceless in ADOS matters.

I had been raising all types of issues at all AGM I attended at ASC since 1988 till 2009.

I had done motions since BAV assumed Dean of ASC in 2006 -2009 but the response from the members were
    strikingly silent.

Nevertheless, I hope I can attend the AGM on 1st April, to break the FOOL syndrome of ADOS. I think I can
find the hard questions to raise to BAV. I think the members attending the AGM should be pro-active on any issues
and put them to votes if Dean is stubborn.

Can we make the move now to stop the rot of 5 years under BAV within the church environment to give glory to God?

God bless those who care for His Kingdom on Earth and in Heaven.

    Joshua Kong

NB: I did not go to church since May 2009 as a silent protest on "Allah" dilemma making a mockery of the English Bible

My brothers & sister in Christ, assuming if all
PCC members were to votes against any motions,
it will always be 18 votes from the Dean, Rector, Pastors, Rev. & 2 ASC staff members vs only 10 elected PCC members votes.

Worst then a political party & all these holymen & women are hiding behind their lopsided voting rights.
If we love our ASC, is this how we should operate, no transparency, good governance &
    accountability.
It takes one high IQ & EQ bishop to distroyed the 100 years of spiritual labours our forefathers & pass Bishops have put in.
I urged all parishioners to turn up in full force to attend the coming AGM on 1/04 and vote
a against motion that our hard working DR.Chhoa is putting up during the AGM.

Our group was having our daily afternoon yam cha at one of the coffee shops at Gaya Street and it was talked of the town today.
Topic, Rector Thiam Choy picking a fight with one elected PCC members at yesterday night PCC meeting which was chaired by him.
    Perluded to the fight :-
Chairman Thiam Choy after giving details of number of baptism done, insisted all PCC members must applauded.
One of our beloved, very honourabled and hard working elected PCC member did not applauded.
Chairman Thiam Choy, then asked why he did not applauded, he then compelling elected PCC to do so and Thiam Choy further intimidated elected PCC member that he doesn't like the body language of elected PCC member. He INSISTED that he should applauded.
My question to this very highly educated spiritual Rector Thiam Choy, who holds a Master Degree from a Uni, are you chairing an PCC meeting of picking a fight with an elected PCC member ?
I once protected you when parishioners said bad things about you but today, what I heard at a coffee shop in Gaya Street, my group & I have lost ALL RESPECT on you.
If a spiritual leader can't respect an elected PCC member, he is indirectly showing disrespect to all ASC parishioners who elected this beloved PCC member.
    Thiam Choy, you MUST remember,
1/.you are not running political party or you are not in the league of Saddam Hussein. Can we suggest, the next time you chair a PCC meeting, please bring along a M16 rifle and guy down all the PCC members who do not applauded.
2/.All elected PCC members are professional, they are accountants, Lawyers, Bankers and etc. Don't treat them like sunday school children.
Thiam Choy further, singing praises about BAV and how he " built ASC & DOS " and
" trained " ppl like Faked Rev. Lo, Shorty Lolly & etc etc. He insisted all should support BAV.
Thiam Choy if what we heard is true, we are very very ashamed and disappointed with you.
Before you were always known as the very nice and sincere guy from Kampar. What we heard as above and the way you double crossed our Beloved Bishop CF Yong, you have lost all our respect ( log, stocks & barrel ).

    1. Dear Senior citizens,

It is wishful thinking that Canon Thiam Choy will ever apologise to Dr. James Chhoa because he has exactly the same pedigree as BAV - no matter how wrong they are, they will never admit because they think they are sitting on the right hand and left hand side of the throne of God. In another words, they are already 'God'.

  131. Disappointed Anglican says,

Bishop Albert Vun again lied at the pulpit of All Saints' Cathedral, 18th March 2012.

At last Sunday worship, BAV tried to bluff the congregation by saying "Rev Canon Ronnie Liew resigned from the Diocese because he is 63 years old now and only have 2 more years when he is 65 years and must retire. So he has decided to resign now to set up his independent church so that he can continue to lead his independent church after he is 65 years old."

This is not true at all because age never came into the picture.

Rev. Ronnie Liew did not have any choice but to resign because BAV always disturbed him and the Heritage Anglican Church - ordering them what they must do and what they cannot do even in their worship.

This is exactly the same what BAV always do to harass and disturb all the clergy who do not openly support him.

So many clergy were forced to resign over the last 6 years. The latest are Rev. Raymond Chin in Oct 2011 and Rev. Clarence Fu in Dec 2011.

So the Diocese lost 2 more very fruitful clergy. Rev. Ronnie Liew and Rev. Michael Wong Kon Fatt, several pastors and about 400 worshippers at one go.

BAV further lied by saying that the Heritage Anglican Church was set up in the Cathedral in 1994.

This is a total lie because the original group of worshippers lived in and came from the Bukit Nenas areas and was raised by Rev. Canon Ronnie Liew himself in 1990. When the group became too big to worship in a house in Bukit Nenas, they asked for permission from Rev. Herbert Tong to start an evening service in the Parish Hall.

When they got the permission, the official evening service started in 1992.

This congregation grew very fast and then moved over to Heritage Anglican Church in the late 1990's. So this congregation was started and raised by Rev. Canon Ronnie Liew and a few dedicated leaders.

So BAV bluffed the congregation by trying to paint the picture that this congregation was started in 1994 and that Ronnie Liew is taking away a ready made congregation.

Truth is Ronnie Liew did'nt take away any congregation. This congregation is his own and they love him very dearly because he first loves them dearly like a good shepherd - not like BAV and many of his crony clergy and pastors who are only good at being arrogant, pigeon-eyed and heartless.

What can we hope for if our so called leader BAV and his crony clergy and pastors always use the pulpit to tell lies.

    1. Add on, BAV has demoted Rev Ronnie Liew. The Canon Rev Ronnie Liew has now become Pastor Ronnie Liew. Mistakes? He purposely said it many times huh?

We must acknowledge Rev Ronnie's heart to save souls for Jesus. Though not trained with any theology background but he has been serving as a non-stipendary (no salary) priest all these while for so many years started from a very humble beginning and the Lord has blessed their ministries into a congregation of a full church with over 400 people. Look at the fruits of its trees.

Now, we look at Rev Philip Lo. He is not trained theologically but getting pay from the Diocese. What has he done to warrant himself as stipend priest (with salary)? Just because he is good buddy with BAV? He has no ministries, doesn't preach, doesn't lead, doesn’t build up people but all the time speaks and acts arrogantly. A tree with no fruits! Only good at going for expensive deals to award outsiders and putting up illegal buildings.

    2. No way "Rev" Philip Lo can be compared to Rev Canon Ronnie Liew. "Rev" Philip Lo can't preach & can't lead but can be very good and extremely competent as a front man for Albert Vun. That's all that matters between the two of them.

With the current ABUSED in the voting rights given to all Rev., Pastors & Staff members, PCC

They called themselves " SPIRITUAL TRAINNED LEADERS ". They are so power corrupt with absolute power!.
These are the type of " SPIRITUAL LEADERS " we are having today and these are the same leaders
who are sowing the same seeds to young Pastors.
Honestly, BAV & all his clowns have to go and MUCH have been distroyed by BAV and it will takes at least another decade to undo all his wrongs and uproot the bad seeds that had been sowed.
DOS & ASC parishioners, wake up FAST before it's too late.
If BAV really loved the DOS & ASC so much as he claimed, he should take the lead of Canon Ronnie Liew, leave and form your own independent church. Don't forget to bring shorty Lolli with you.

YTC is a double headed snake, beware. He used to be in my good book but not anymore.Knowing what type of person AV is,he still wants the PCC to support the bishop scared that he might lose his rice bowl.Such type of man cannot be a man of God.He is already brain washed by you know who.Another priest to avoid.

PCC now is the time to show which side you are on,search your heart,AV is not going to be the bishop in ADOS forever, you know what I mean.Staff of ASC,AV's cronies and his favoured priests and salaried PCC,when he is gone, will you all still stay behind and pretend nothing has happened, knowing it is all your doing that ADOS falls!

How can we believe in what the bishop says? He is a cunning man and can twist and turn with his answers. He forced Ronny as well as others to resign by making it look as if it were their own decisions. He would make their lives so miserable that they had no choice but to go.Then he would ordain more of his cronies to take over from them. Did he believe the parishioners would believe what he said about being Ronny's good friend? John Yeoh is his good friend and he promoted him to be the assistant bishop by passing the more senior ones.Ronny Liew a very senior non stipend priest with no salary,a good man and you used your evil cunning way to edge him out making it look as if it was Ronny who wanted to resign. We are not stupid people,as one blogger said, why would a good friend resign and brought all the sheep with him? He is accusing Ronny for 'stealing the sheep' which by right are his own right from the beginning.A great 'thank you' to all those who revealed the real truth and dare to come out to tell the actual reason of Ronny's resignation. We knew that there is more than meets the eye.A person will not resign without a good reason.

So how are we to deal with this bishop and his cronies? Instead of the sheep growing now more and more are leaving and isn't this a good enough reason to demote his position as well? Quite a few months back, some bloggers revealed that a priest's promotion depends on the number of baptisms, confirmations etc.. Now the table is turned to the bishop! Actually,he has nothing he can preach about, that was why he preached about how to have twins and all that nonsense, might as well not preached!

Better watch out, soon he will order people to get out if he does not get what he wants! Bishop was also baptised, confirmed and ordained but does he seem to be like a man of God? Are you trying to hint that when AV attends the AGM you all want those attending to applaud starting with the PCC ? People are free to do what they please even God gives us the freedom to choose.Having heard about this episode,I can foresee what will happen in the AGM.There will be many switching off microphones to prevent people from talking and all your dirty ways to get things done. You are worse than a lot of dirty politicians playing dirty politic and in church,oh my goodness!!!

After readying the blog regarding the coffee shop talk at Gaya Street about this YTC wanting all the PCC members to applaud for what AV has done,it came to my conclusion, that he is trying very hard to 'angkat' the bishop's legs so that he may be promoted faster,I suspect. How could he supposed to be a man of God forced people to give all the glory to his boss and not to God???? It is so difficult to listen to sermons from these 'men of God' and believe in what they say. They just do not have the calling!!

Some of the BM members have opened their eyes and they are not ignorant about ASC affairs. We must give this 'wakil' credit for blogging on their behalf and that means they also read the blogs because they are concerned not like some of the prominent members including the bishop who said they do not read the blogs!! These BM members are humble people and can use their minds intelligently although they said they do not have a high education.God has given them the wisdom to discern.Praise God.

We can feels your pains & hurts on the so many wrongs that have been repeatedly abused one after another with the ways our spiritual leaders are managing ASC & DOS funds.
As one of the sons of a former very much beloved Bishop of Sabah, the Very Hon. late Bishop Datuk Loke Chhoa, we can understand how much you love ASC and not wanting to see the many years of good labour your dad has done to be distroyed
by one mad power crazy heartless selfish Vun Chong Fui & all his clowns.
We will continue to support our brother Dr.Chhoa and don't let our highly educated pedigree from Kampar bully you. If this skinny thinks he is so holy and above board, why cari makan and cari pasal with our elected PCC member in KK ?, go back to Kampar and start your own independent church in the new village.
Dr.Chhoa, we are all behind you & have no fear with all these clowns with the same

  144. Many members of ASC said they go to church because they are duty bound. There is no more desire in wanting to know more about God because the spiritual leaders are preaching nonsense every Sunday which is not relevant to the bible. Some said they go to church because they want to show their faces that they are present for when they die, they will be able to get a plot of burial ground in the Anglican Cemetery! Some priests do try to give a biblical message but when their boss calls they go running and forget what they have preached ! You cannot blame the members for losing trust and faith in these priests, preaching one thing and not practising it.

The reasons why our " highly educated & very holy Canon TYC " chaired the PCC meeting last monday, 19/03 2012 at 8pm like he was chairing a mafia war lord meeting was due to elected PCC members wanted to pass the following motions at the coming AGM on 1/04/2012.
1/.to propose that clause VIII 1C be removed from the constitution of ASC.
The clause stated " any other clergy & lay workeys licensed by the bishop
    to serve in the parish.
2/.to propose a resolution to be tabled at the AGM on 1/4/2012 to have a Senior
Priest to be stationed full time in ASC as Deqan other then Bishop Vun, who has
been the Acting Dean for more then 6 years, so that pastoral attention is given
to restore ASC and bring forth unity and confidence.
This proposal is very good for ASC to have a full time Dean other then Bishop Vun
so that there will be a CLEAR SEGREGATION of duties between ASC and DOS to administer of our finance. ( FYI, did you all know that in 2010, BAV has given
a clean grant of RM 170,000.00 ++ to All Saints Academy ? If ASA, is making losses
why didn't BAV closed the ASA like what he did to the kindergarten 6 years ago. The reason he gave was kindergarten was making losses. Is ASA is making losses and
ASC have to be given a grant of RM 170,000.00 ++ in 2010, why did BAV also used
ASC funbds to buy a brand new Honda CRV that cost alomost RM 150,000.00 for Datin Mary Vun, who happens to be the principle and the dear wife of BAV ??? ).
Our dear ASC parishioners, do you all know that every motions or resolution that needs to be passed at any AGM, will have to get the approval of PCC concil ?
By now it has been make known that in a any PCC votings, elected PCC members will ALWAYS be voted out. These was due to the very lopsided voting rights given to all
Priest, Pastors ASC staff members total 18 votes vs only 10 from elected PCC members. Our holymen & women Priests, Pastors & Bishop has been abusing their voting rights to suit their own personal interest.
We urged all ASC parishioners to come out in FULL force to attend the coming AGM to STOP all these abuses by Bishop Vun, Canon YTC & all their clowns.

If it is not for the purchase of a new Toyota Harrier, then what was this grant for ?

  149. I was in ASC witnessing what happened when the Rev Canon YTC was preaching from the pulpit.
Why did he use the pulpit to preach in angry tones? Why did he said that the blog is all not true?
YTC also pretended so innocent as to say that "Do you use the blog when there is a problem within a family?" We all know why the blog is used after 5 years of unhappiness with the Bishop Datuk A Vun Chong Fui.

If the blog approach is wrong, then is the use of the pulpit to declare innocence on behalf of the BAV right?

If there is a genuine desire of repentance for the whole church BAV must be present. Then there will be healing.

If YTC want to blame the blog for the crisis of the ASC and ADOS, it is certainly misdirected.

If YTC want to curse those who give RM1 in tithe when tithe itself is questionable especially when such tithes had been abused for decades by the church especially recently. Who do we think God would treat such abuses if that is really what the Bible says on tithe? I believe the Bible is for all irrespective of the religious sway and so tithe is really not only for the church but the society at large such as income tax. Again income tax had been also abused by corruption.

Anyway, now the blog problem is acknowledged by YTC but has BAV acknowledged that ?

Maybe a group in ASC should present a sketch of all the alleged wrongdoings of the BAV especially for those not having access to the blog.

I found my David last Saturday as it is to be David and Goliath scenario in the April Fool AGM when BAV is absent.

Please prepare ourselves for the AGM next Sunday and come early at 1pm when the reports would be made available.

Why is the ASC serving breakfast when we are at the Lent time?

Rev. Canon Yong Thiam Choi confessed to lying at the pulpit today - 25th March 2012.

The rector and priest-in-charge of All Saints' Cathedral, Anglican Diocese of Sabah today finally confessed that he lied about not reading the blog - allsaintscathedralsabah.blogspot.

He has been lying all the time that he never read the blog. Today he said he does read.

But in his Sermon, he made 2 mistakes.

Firstly, he said a church credibility can be lost because of the congregation inside. But he should include the bishop, Albert Vun, Canon YTC himself and Pastor Stella as the biggest culprits causing ASC's credibility in the eyes of the world to be totally lost and damaged beyond repair. These 3 persons tell lies non-stop in the pulpit and inside the church.

What is written in the blog are totally true and correct although accuracy may not be 100% all the time.

Secondly, Canon YTC challenged the congregation to repent - not themselves bishop Albert Vun, Canon Yong himself and Pastor Stella. They are sinless?

These 3 culprits are real agents of Satan causing all the problems in the Cathedral which never happened before.

Canon Yong - you should shut your big mouth and stop preaching.

As a constant liar like bishop Vun, both of you have no more spiritual authority to preach and no more moral authority to teach. Lost all respect and credibility.

You should go back to Kampar, Ipoh and find your livelihood there since you like to sweet-talk and tell lies. Bishop A Vun got conned by you and both of you make a perfect pair.

b/.Why didn't the Bishop & Rector took action like calling for meeting for all ASC
Parishioners to explain & defend themselves what were written in the blog.
Unfortunately, both very learned spiritual leaders denied having read the blog
and let these matter drags for far too long.
c/.If what were written in the blog were nothing but lies, why every motions or
resolution MUST get approval from PCC Council ? Knowing very well that all our
learned spiritual leaders were hiding behind the voting rights which were very
lopsided as mentioned by a parishioner in the blog.
d/.If what were written in the blog were nothing but lies, is the Bishop cum Dean
willing to engage the services of an external auditor to have all the accounts
and administrative matters audited and presented to all ASC parishioners.
e/.In this coming AGM, will the Chairman of the AGM willing to let all Parishioners

  153. When YTC came to join ASC,everyone was praising him and said at long last,we had a nice God fearing man who was friendly, understanding and just like one of us,one that was entirely different from BAV's cronies. In other words,he was much loved by the congregation and sympathised him for having to tolerate his boss.I heard some women folks loved him so much that they made soup for him to fatten him up-hope it is not a lie but he was taken out for dinners, that I can verify. How nice it is to be among friends as your brothers and sisters in Christ but now you have chosen to be with your boss rather than be with those who 'feed' you! What a let down! As soon as BAV promoted you to be the rector we all knew you are going to be in trouble. You were chosen to be the 'shield' for him and how true it is.Being an intelligent man,why did you defend him blindly and time and time again the members said do not use the pulpit to curse, reprimand etc the congregation. There are other means but you all like to choose the pulpit where members cannot defend themselves until last Sunday,a very Senior member could not stand it and had to voice his disapproval. You have shown your true colours and you have lost all the respect we have of you,and the Los needless to say the bishop as well. The ASC members are not stupid people and will not take abused of funds ,power, etc without giving a transparent account. If the Academy is running at a loss, close it.Why closed the kindergarten and then started another one at the Academy?

  154. YTC is going to feel the heat on 1 April 2012 at the AGM.Is your boss going to be present to answer all the allegations or you are left to be on your own to do all the answering.By right the bishop should be present to answer all the questions from the members.Don't push the poor rector to do the dirty job for you.Don't be a coward.Tell the members that all the allegations are lies, come out to prove that they are wrong, come out with facts, documents etc to prove everything is legal.Don't switch off the microphones, let them talk, time is no problem. If the members are convinced and found guilty of accusing you wrongly, then the members are willing to repent. If you do not answer and keeps saying you are the bishop, the members have no right to query this and that, then you are very wrong. The members pay you and your cronies salaries every month and they do not even know how much you are all getting every month, now it is the time to put things straight. They want to know everything because they care. These are 21st Century members and live in the electronic age,no more in caves and no more yes men/women.

YTC,if your boss does not attend the AGM then you are on your own to defend on things that do not concern you but since you are his ma zia and are brainwashed by BAV ,you have to do his biding. You are pushed into the trap! If you cannot get things done to his liking, you get the scolding and blame and if you follow your boss's biding which is not to the members' liking you too get scolding.Either way,you lose,it is end of the road for you.Like the bloggers say, better leave and go back to your kampong.Your job in ASC will never get better since you have exposed yourself and be on the bishop's side.Your boss goes, you too have to go for we know your true colours now.The much loved rector is now going down hill and our love for him is rejected!!

How To Share the Gospel Training - 26th March 2012.

What a waste of time attending this training.

I thought I could get good teaching. Instead, wasted over 1/2 hour singing and asked to clap hands and then given a talk on the 4 spiritual laws which many of us already know and taught several times.

Overall, it is just a circus show with Pastor Stella praising Canon YTC as a great speaker and YTC praising Pastor Stella in return.

Our church is going for all the vain things and superficial things of this earth. The important matters of real spirituality, love and grace are all thrown out of the windows by the present so called 'spiritual leaders'.

I will not attend any more of this type pf training especially, those given by our local vain 'spiritual leaders'.

    BISHOP ALBERT VUN LIES AGAIN

In his bulletin message to All Saints' Cathedral on 25th March 2012, BAV said all lay readers wanting to renew their Lay Readers' licence must declare their faithfulness to the Anglican Doctrine and canonical obedience.

He quoted Hebrews 13:17 and Rom 13:1-2.

These 2 references are not applicable because - none of the lay readers had rebelled against BAV or have deviated from the Anglican faith. He should say which lay readers had rebelled against him and how. No such cases. BAV just power crazy.

I also do not believe him when BAV said it has been the practices since the beginning of our Diocese. He is only making up a story that declaration of Faith and canonical obedience was practised since 100 years ago. BAV is just power-mad and want everyone to worship him.

The truth is BAV is so power crazy that he wants all lay readers to submit totally to him and blindly. Bishop Chhoa and Bishop Yong never demanded such canonical obediences all the times.

I am very happy to hear that at least 2 lay readers, Alfred Ma and David Wong disagreed with BAV and as man with principles they gave back the licence to BAV last month and will not want to be licensed again to be BAV's cronies.

It is indeed very sad for ASC and ADOS to see that BAV wants to disturb even the lay readers, who voluntarily agreeed to assist in Holy Communion and worship leading after past PCCs and past bishop's recommended them.

ASC and ADOS are surely heading for very difficult times because BAV wants to interfere and disturb everyone serving in Church - the priests, his pastors and now the lay readers. Satan must be in BAV.

Rev. Canon Ronnie Liew was forced to resign because of too much and constant interference and harrassment from BAV. ADOS lost over 400 worshippers overnight because of BAV's high-handedness. This is BAV's greatest 'achievement' for our Diocese.

WHO'S next to be disturbed by BAV in ASC and ADOS????/ Just wait and see!

Last sunday sermon started very well by Rector YTC, buy........., very unfortunately towards the very end, he decided to blast the congregation for all the purported lies written in the blog and parishioner giving RM 1/- for CC.
He then mentioned that what ever was offered in the offering bags are God's money.
Our question, if it is Gos's money, why did you & BAV lavishly spent money on the followings:-
Alphard, CRV & Toyota Harrier cars ?,Furniture shipped from KUALA LUMPUR for Deanery, RM40K lightings, RM 45K carpeting, RM 167 K grant to ASA in the name of MISSION or for purchased of a Toyota Harrier ? and the lists goes on & on.
In the statement of income as follows :-
    Total income received 2011 - RM 3,231,175.65.
    Total income received 2010 - RM 3,400,183.81.
    Total DEFICIT for 2011 - RM ( 590,700.33).
    Total DEFICIT for 2010 - RM ( 577,852.98).
    Total 2011 & 2010 loses amounted to - RM 1.17 million.
If today ASC is a Sendiran Berhard, it will have to close shop alredy.
Very soon, Rector sermon will emphasis on sowing generiously and reap 100,1,000 and 1,000,000 folds or alternatively Rector will be asking all Parishioners to live by faith and start praying for money to drop from the sky to cover the 1.16 million losses.\
Is there any more valuble property to be sold to cover the big hole ?
Are the baove lies again ?

  159. BAV wanted the lay readers to swear in their canonical obedient is a strategy to serve his own purpose. People complaint about his abuse of voting in the PCC. The constitution says the PCC members include "any other clergy and lay workers licensed by the Bishop to serve in the parish"

Now the Bishop has included the clergy as PCC (his advantage) but why NOT the lay workers. Why BAV so unfair? Is it because he is the Bishop of Sabah & also acting Dean?

Most lay readers have been serving there more than 15 years, except some recently recruited. If BAV is right in his reasoning, Why only takes him (after 6 years) to implement something (he claimed)that has been practising more than 100 years? Why not implemented to other Anglican churches in Sabah? The BISHOP HAS AGAIN WRONGFULLY ABUSE THE USE OF CANONICAL OBEDIENCE. He only wants the YES MEN /WOMEN even to serve as lay readers because he sees the potential threats these people be included as PCC members. (stated clearly in the constitution they are rightful PCC members!) Wow! is this serious? A "power crazy man" is using all sorts of ways to gain power and control. He has created another charge to hold him as "unfit to be the Bishop" Right or not?

He acts, speaks etc exactly like his teacher. He sure is well brainwashed and in no time he will be ordained as another assistant bishop!! He thinks we don't know our bible well by quoting the case of a couple being struck dead! You think you can create fear in our hearts? People give one ringgit to the church but they give to others who are in need without having to tell you.It is not neccessary that we must give to ASC which looks well off from outside.Helping others other than the church is also doing God's work. Why should we give to the church when you all abuse the money and now the deficit has accumulated to over a million! The bishop sure knows how to live well.As for the members they have to tighten their belts. The way AV is spending the money, this church is sure going bankrupt and you YTC still wants people to give to his CC.Don't you have any guilty conscience at all? Is it so important to 'angkat your boss's legs' that you go to any extent of praising him to hang on to your rice bowl? By the way our so called spiritual leaders preach, they put their stress more on money as well as praising each other, other than saving souls. Now that the church has lost about 400 sheep at one go all because of his meddling, therefore a bishop with principles should resign.Numbers to him is very important but now his sheep is dwindling so what is he going to do? Scold some more, curse some more threaten some more? The more you do this, the more the sheep will rebel.
