ARE WE EXPECTING CHANGES AFTER ASC 2012 AGM?

With members in full force in a non-election year was interesting to mark a history of the millennium and outcry of our voices must be heard!

ASC’s 2012 AGM lasted longer than 5hours packed with members stayed back with participation eagerly wanted to see an end to the current management structure has been a lack of clarity, all under the manipulation of one man.  Most members expected Bishop Albert Vun appear in person to chair the ASC’s 2012 AGM coming forward for public apologies as how he had conducted himself in the previous AGM.

Members did not expect Bishop Vun to be silent, absent himself conveniently and deeply buried underground the issues in the blog.  If he thinks he is innocent with the issues raised, the greatest defence was to come forward to explain himself clean and reconcile with the people.  If he truly loves the church, why then he has avoided us?  Why only defended from the pulpit where nobody else can speak to challenge?

The Rector’s self-made rules at the proceeding of the meeting were very much like Bishop’s Vun style not to raise issues on personal attack.  Anyone tried to mention abusiveness of one man's power? Not allowed by the chairman!  How else can you address the issues if you want to say it? We see how manipulative they appear in large meetings like AGM how else can you imagine meetings in the PCC that our voices have always been represented in minority?

Was there a trick to swap the sequence of the 2 resolutions intentionally knowing the first resolutions required 2/3 majority?  The meeting dragged on until 8pm surely some people would have left to attend children at home.

Whether there was integrity in the scrutiny of voting for the 1st resolution of crying out for fairness in the decision making, it is seen rather an obvious manipulation of a “one man show”.  This problem remained unresolved if the elected PCC can never carry a fair voice in the decision making.  We must not let this issue unresolved.

  1. Yes, the church has spoken at the AGM.

Most of the items mentioned would not be recorded hence off record.

We cannot allow BAV to stay any longer at ASC even after the vote of no confidence as the acting Dean as he will not act on it unless we press on now and not next month. Would BAV instal another 'crony' as the Dean as we have seen in possible two assistant bishops who appear to be quite junior in service? Although a senior priest is expected as the new Dean, who do we think should be our new Dean? Would there be a choice by election for this purpose?

Actually, BAV should resign now as the Bishop as he by whatever insinuations that this blog is inaccurate and untrue. The answers/fact given at the AGM has confirmed that this blog is largely reliable. That is the reason I had to stay till the end at the AGM. There were still some AOB not dwelled with.

Those outstanding issues - unanswered questions or comment plus new questions would be in a long letter to the Bishop within the week.

Where is ASAA in ASC accounts for 2011?

Although the souvenir magazines for the centenarian celebration worth over RM80k had been charged and written off in 2011, the stock is still there. This is not reflected in the ASC 2011 accounts. If this is off the record, how would the admin maintain a record of such an asset? The Rector said the magazines are still for sale and who are getting the money if they are sold when there is no control of such items already written off?

About the financial situation, if the fixed deposits have been withdrawn (latest info to be confirmed), it is certainly a big problem for the liquidity of the church. The mess is getting bigger. Soon maybe no power, no water and all the vehicles off the road??

What is personal attack when it is "ONE MAN SHOW" so far?

Please tell us who are the signatories to the church accounts?

Must all cheques be signed by the Treasurer for good governance?

Once the dean - now missing in action even at the very important AGM - go off, there would be less financial burden as the ASC is re-invented.

It is very important for the mother church ASC of 100 years when the Diocese is only 50 years.

There is still a big problem to ASC as the liability over the years on the assessment to the Diocese had been an issue always to be negotiated with the Bishop. How would this be if the same person stays on as Bishop?

About the clause in motion 2 at the AGM, I think the number of clergy and lay readers be restricted to 5. There are still 4 others who can be nominated by the Chairman (Dean/Rector) of PCC as the Dean's warden is nominated one by the Dean or Rector. Three others (normally nominated by the Dean/Rector) are coopted into the PCC where 10 parishioners are elected at the next AGM. So we have 10 from the clergy and 10 from the laity. Is that fairer when the words "Any other" in the constitution can be misapplied by including all clergy, lay readers and diocesan workers to out number the elected ones? Dr James also told us that many major decisions at the PCC had been pre-decided by "someone" and so what role is left to the elected PCC members? Your views would be needed here to make it better for ASC and ADOS as this part of the constitution is applied throughout the ADOS.

About the Kokol Prayer Summit, when can we see the OC to be exhibited?

    much more to come...

  2. About the 2/3 majority for the constitution votes at the late hour, many of the 300 registered would have gone home and some have given the ballot papers to their friends who stay behind. Is that OK or not to give more than one votes to some people?

If there was 300 registered voters which must be declared by the Chairman before the votes as we were told 286 at 3pm (start)and 2/3 would require almost 200 to support that motion 2.

The total votes counted was about 260. So we need almost 80% of those present if it was get it passed. anyway the pressing message was carried on the 'one man show'.

Even the AGM passed this motion on constitution change, the consent of the Bishop is needed to implement it.

The first motion only need a simple majority and that was clear but it is still to be applied by the Bishop quickly.

So we need to have an action committee to see the change in the management of ASC for good govenance.

  3. Faithful 7.30am Parishioners writes,
Attended yesterday AGM and was very surprised of the large turn out and parishioners stayed from 3pm until 8.45pm.
The Parishioners had spoken and it is for their love of ASC that all came to attend and gave their view during the AGM.
The greatest disappointment was our Dean, who saw it fit to absent himselve from the AGM. Was the Dean, The Right Rev. Datuk Albert Vun Chong Fui felt that the AGM is NOT IMPORTANT & his travelling to Thailand is more important ?
By not attending the AGM, was BAV not running away from all the issues raised from the blog and running away from RESPONSIBILITY & ACCOUNTABILITY ?
As for yesterday AGM, I would like to raise the following issues :-
    A/.Voting.
1/. Why was last miniutes registration done to
give BM congregation rights to vote ?
We have proof to show one BM lady was in
    her possesion 5 circled votes.
2/. Why was the votes for Dr.James Chhoa's
    resolution collected twice during AGM.
3/. Why wasn't the votes collected in a more
secured ballot boxes rather then in a open
    plastic tray.
4/. Who was assigned to count all these votes
and who witnessed the counting ? Stella
    Lo ?
5/. Why wasn't the voting slip given in a
more accountabled maner ? Varify all names
before a voting slip given. My wife was given
2 set of voting slips, why ?
6/. Why wasn't the voting slip numberised ?
    B/.Accounts.
1/.Why was All Saints Academy accounts not
attached in the financial report ?
How was the RM 167,000.00 grant given by
    ASC in 2010 spent ?
    2/.Year 2010, 2011 & 2012, All Saints
Cathedral will be running a deficit of RM
    1.85 million.
With the above huge deficit, head have to
roll before it get beyond repair. Like if
a fish is rotten, one must chop off the head.
In this respect, Bishop Albert Vun & all his
clowns have to go before much more damages
    done.
3/.A fixed deposit of RM 696,551.15 was
withdrawn and who approved the withdrawal ?

    1. All Saints Academy already taken out from our All Saints 2 years ago. How to see their accounts? BAV is smart, he doesn't want you to the accounts and question him every year in the AGM. Now parking in the diocese accounts where he has all the free hand to use under the mission fund account.

When they seperate from All Saints, BAV requested All Saints to give away the RM167,000 owing from them. Like free money from heaven.

You want to know how the RM167,000 was spend by All Saints Academy? I think it is a bit tough. We call it "exclusive rights" only to BAV. This is a very unhealthy practice in the hands of an ungodly man.

    2. Wow! our DEAN & BISHOP Vun how come you run away from the AGM ??? As a SPIRITUAL LEADER in ADOS , when you facing trouble the best way is not run away.In the book of GENESIS :CHPTER 16 The brith of Ishamal. From this chapter God teach us how to overcome the problem. Can you solve the problem just RUNAWAY or PRETEND nothing have ever happens in ADOS, anyway once you back to the office those problem still unsolved .V:6 Abram replied, Look, she is your servant, so deal with her as you see fit."In this verse Abram is unaccountable. He want Serai to deal the problem.V6.b Then Serai treated Hager so harshly that she finally run away.Serai made unreasonable toward Hager, So Hager made herself unavailable from home is the best way to avoids all the remarked made from Serai.V:9 The angel of the Lord said to her" Return to your mistress and submit to her authority."
God want Abram to FACE the problem, Serai to DEAL with the problem and Hager to LIVE with the problem . God want them to be HOLY. And solve the problem.
If you think, I am the BISHOP of ADOS, you should learn from ABRAM . The Parishioners and the blogger just encouraged YOU BISHOP VUN CHONG FEI to live HOLY and solve all the problem as ABRAM did. We are not against You,BISHOP!
To our RECTOR YONG, your quote on last Sunday about the commented by this blog should not be air it out even a family problem too.But in God eyes is difference.Look, Abram family problem, God used Moses to pen it down. Printed in billion of bible, thousand of languages, billion of BELIEVERS read and learn through the problem which the ABRAM family in last 3000 year until now.God want US to be HOLY! Once again to reminds you, RECTOR, Parishioners of ASC want all the PASTORS live in HOLY!

    3. NOT TO AIR OUT???? evidence of corruption and the views of the people are indeed amongst the most important information which should be made known to the congregation on a mandatory basis. All Saint's Cathedral does not exist to serve the lackeys of the Bishop, nor to help him or them "save face". If he dares to claim that no wrong had been done by him, then he should not fear that the sentiments of the people be voiced. His avoidance is telltale. What more, the stupidity of his lackey in demonstrating his loyalty to this dictator by claiming that no comments should be aired is just another arrow towards their guilt. Do we really need such people leading us?

  4. I am very sick with the gentleman comment last night. He said it was no point to vote as bishop can veto the voting result.Come on, we came to vote to express our frustration and disillusion. Whatever the voting result, let's leave it to bishop to use his wisdom, pride , ego or mere foolishness to exercise his veto. The church members reserve their right to consider their next move if it is veto by bishop.

    1. what is the point in voting when after those people left because they had to go home to their children, an announcement was made that those who had left had therefore lost all voting powers?? when the cap was still set based on the original number of people who attended? even this does not make sense to a layperson, but is more than evident of the fraud involved in these practices.
      so shameless done.

  5. Who is the chancellor of ASC?
Why this chancellor of ASC not there to speak to enlighten the parishioners?

Why the Chancellor of the Bishop Albert Vun Chong Fui there to speak and siding with the ADOS?

The Chancellor did tell us that BAV did not appoint himself as the acting Dean when there was no Dean in ASC in 2006.

So if AVCF is the acting Dean today, why is the bulletin show him as the DEAN? Has there any change since 2006? Is this correct?

So BAV, please act fast to have a new qualified and capable Dean now with the vote of no confidence on AVCF at the AGM, before you too become irrelevant in ADOS.

The writing has been on wall but the stubborness of BAV is unacceptable.

  6. If the first resolution cannot be solved,go to the next course of action-get rid of the bishop.Sue him for mismanagement of funds. Yesterday the church was packed like sardines all out to voice their discontentment and if AV is still blind to the cries of unfairness than there is definitely something seriously hidden and ought to be exposed. Where was the bishop, now everyone had revealed his/her identity expecting to have a face to face talk with him? He said under anonymous names no entertainment in anything at all but did he keep his promise? The parishioners took up his challenge.

This is only the beginning and the murmurings now are going to the crescendo !! It will not stop until a dean is selected but not one of AV's cronies. We want a senior, humble, honest God fearing dean who can work independently without the interference of the bishop.

One would have thought being the head of the church,he would be present to clarify all allegations/lies he said but he did not come out with any answers and ran away.So the 'lies' are the truths. So folks this leader of ours will not protect his sheep in future if anything goes wrong such as the church going bankrupt,he will run away maybe somewhere to NZ !You can let your imagination run wild!

In future all the congregations like yesterday come out in full force to stand for for justice,
and fight for the good of our beloved ASC.

    1. perhaps we should be more vocal during actual sunday worship services as well... after all, the bishop and his cronies have utilised the pulpit as a means of reprimanding the people for their disagreement towards him. If he won't come when matters are discussed, then perhaps we should bring the matters out into the open, as in at the exact time when they belittle our cries. Let all the members see them answer. put the spotlight on them. i'm sure many members of the congregation are of the same view that something needs to be done, and it should not turn out as a one-man show.

  7. Rector still lying during AGM & trying to justify why all Pastor,Rev.,Staff should be given voting rights.
Quote " vote needed due to Pastors/ Rev., working closely with all parishioners & " PASTORAL CARE " can be given ????
I nearly fainted when I heard the translation done by Rev. Lin ( a parrot ? ) at yesterday AGM.
    My questions :-
1/.If what was said by Rev Lin, was the TRUTH
that Pastoral care given & Pastors/Rev.
working very close to Parishioners, can any
Pastors & Rev. address by name 30% of the
    Parishioners ?
Can Pastor Setlla Lo, who is the longest
serving Pastor in ASC address 25% of the
    7.30am congregation by name.
2/.Can any of the Pastors, Rev. or even Bishop
Vun address by name all the elected PCC
    members ?
3/.From what we heard from the sick in hospitals
or homes, our Rev.& Pastors do not visit them
and the cells members were asked to visit &
pray. This is what you called " Pastoral
    care " ?
4/.Did Bishop Albert Vun threaten a Canon who
just left Heritage with 95 % of the
congregation that his dead body will NEVER be
buried in All Saints Cemetery ?
WOW, now cemetery also belong to Vun Chong
Fui, no wonder he booked 3 plots for
    himselve.
God's people had spoken very loud & clear during the AGM.Now is the time for change from the very top. If BAV refused to repent & have no accountability & transparency, we should call for an EGM and get rid of this rotten fish
    for good.
    Amen.

  8. Bravo, you have all transitioned from being a blog of " a few nameless troublemakers" to a real living body that showed up en masse and moved, thought, acted and spoke in unison yesterday. That is no mean feat and whatever will be the present and future counter responses, you have demonstrated to them that this voice will grow louder and louder till change takes place. Whatever script they decide to write, the truth will not go away.

  9. Very nice to hear the Rector to say it is a family affairs and yet there was no solution to the crisis in ASC vis-a-vis ADOS.

I want to hear from the Chancellor if there is a provision for an EGM in our Constitution? Don't tell me we need to wait for next AGM in 2013- too long for the prevailing crisis.

I think the best solution within the family, we call a Committee of Inquiry, failing which we have to go out of the church for some solution to get the rotten head to resign.

In this committee of Inquiry, it is going to be transparent and both sides to the dispute lay bare the problems so that we find a very quick solution for the prolonged crisis of 5 years now.

There are avenues to deal with the crisis both within and without.

Once the outside avenues are pursued, don't blame any one except blame the Missing in Action aka one man show. PERIOD.

This response from BAV must be within the week to find the expected solution.

  10. Our church's voting system should be changed. The way that it was done yesterday was all wrong. You would not get a fair result. but then it was the way with the bishop. If the bishop still says no to the people's suggestion of having a fairer system ,then he is forcing the members to do the inevitable- there are so many ways of doing it and do it fast! The longer he stays on,the faster he will dry up everything.Put a caveat on the church properties so that he cannot touch them and don't give anymore.

  11. Our hloimen /women tried to CHEATS at yesterday AGM by having two booths to register
BM congregation and thus giving them right to vote.
( Learning very fsat from our political masters from West Malaysia ? ).
My friend had photograhs evidence to proof that a lady had in her 5 voting slip
    circled.
Our highly spritual leaders tried to CHEAT at any cost, but it is by the Grace of God that the first resolution was passed with more then 2/3 majority. ie 224 vs 120.
Suprisingly the second resolution has a total of not more then 240 votes and
balance of 104 votes when missing in action like Bishop Albert Vun Chong Fui ?

    1. BIG NEWS! Datin Mary Vun (wife of BAV) has been spotted playing dirty politics about voting the 2nd resolution.

GUESS WHAT? She warned and reminded the BM workers MUST vote against the 2nd resolution. If the 2nd resolution is through, all of the workers will lose their benefits.

I can't believe my own ears. WHO is trying to cause DIVISIONS to the church now? We have the sincere members wanted to make the system work between the PCC and the priests but the priests think being in control is the way to run the church! How sad to see the wife of a bishop to do such a disgraceful thing! Where is integrity & fairness in voting?

    2. I can testify we casted the votes and passed to those staff with the basket to collect our ballots while Dr James was still talking about his resolutions.

We trusted those baskets were to collect our ballots for that resolution. Because that was the only resolution.

Later,we found out those ballots collected earlier were not taken into counting. Why the helpers collected from us and not taken for counting? Baskets of votes left on the table at the entrance of the church.

They only counted votes collected 2nd time. WHY? People who passed their ballots 1st round to the baskets felt being cheated with great dishonesty from the church leaders why have they instructed their staff to do such a thing?

Manipulate to win over man's way is of no glory to God. The results for the 2nd resolution is DISQUALIFIED! CANON YONG, YOU GOT IT? YOUR TEAM OF STAFF DID ALL SORT OF DIRTY TACTICS JUST TO WIN. SHAME ON YOU AS A LEADER!

    3. If what was said is the truth, then the only person who was seated at the table that the 1st. collection of ballots collected was our Fake Rev. Philip Lo. He was seated at that table till the very end.

It's the dirty hands of Philip Lo or is he going to say the hand of God ?

  12. What, bishop's wife also campaigned? Why must she play dirty and tell lies? Aiyoh, husband and wife really are of the same feather! How can we trust all these so called spiritual leaders? We must keep at them hot on their heels now that we all know we are of one voice, the parishioners have given him 6 years of power and he is abusing it.Everyone wondered why all did not say anything for 6 years and now only came out united but it is never too late.We all have woken up and must work hard to straighten everything.Money saved by our past bishops are now all gone and who gave him the right to draw out the money-again-I am the bishop,I have the right!

Yes,there should be an EGM to settle things.Don't allow him to use delayed tactics and he must answer since the parishioners have revealed their identities.

Where is the Kokol prayer center's OC? Anybody go to the Town Board to find out? From yesterday's meeting all could tell the Chancellor is not for the parishioners but for the one 'Missing in Action' Do we want him to carry on with his job in the next General Election?

    1. My friends, I had been consistent to speak and with resolutions in AGM 2006. 2007, 2008, and 2009 without fail but unfortunately little supports from those present.

      I had seen the rot.

I did not go to 2010 and 2011 AGMs because I did not attend church to protest the Court Case on Allah (one man show) and the use of ALLAH in the BM services.

Since I knew this blog on Christmas day 2011 and so this God's birhtday gift need to act on..and so AGM 2012 is the best venue for now.

The acting Dean did insult us like fools but he is FOOL as he did not sign the 2011 minute of AGM and the BIG mistake of the Dean's warden report on the RM3m for CC plus of course there is no acting Dean's Report except a Rector Report.

ASC had been taken for a BIG ride on BIG FOOL day, with the MIA Dean and the Rector's report for a few months since Rector was appointed on 5 September 2011.

So the 1st Resolution is most appropriate now.

Looks like BAV fears men although he said before he feared no men but only God.If he does not fear men why did he go missing from the AGM when he was supposed to be present to answer to all his 'noble deeds' He did not even send his apologies and went hiding in Thailand as was rumoured. ASC Anglicans really love their church, keep the momentum up.If we don't take actions now it will drag on and on,as it is it has dragged on long enough with no movements but yesterday happenings was a great show that all stood united.Family affair and must be within the family? 15. The proposed Committee of Inquiry can also now look into the incorrect and incomplete financial accounts plus the invalid voting in the second resolution.

Maybe if the Chancellor consider an EGM, then we can have a fresh financial report plus new motions including the the highly disputed 2nd motions.

I tell you cheating was inevitable for the second motion because the "one man show" had lost heavily in the first motion.

So lets have the EGM in May, 2012.

  17. Yesterday AGM was the most attended since the Acting dean took over all Saints Cathedral. There was insufficient time for all those who wish to ask questions. I myself have many questions I wish to ask under AOB but very unfortunately I and many others were not given the opportunity. The following are questions I wish to ask:-
1). Why don’t we start the meeting earlier, say 1.30 pm?
2). Why can’t the minutes be given out 2 weeks before the AGM unless there are ulterior motive behind, as men of God and as a body of Christ we must be 100% transparent. As our Dean said he fears no men accept God that is good, then let everyone have the minutes 2 week before so that if there are any mistakes or discrepancies it can be raised, discussed, corrected and answered and everyone given the opportunity to speak until their hearts satisfy, there after no one should raise the same issue again.
3). Regarding the two resolutions, it is a clear tactic by whoever, fix the AGM, to purposely delay as long as possible so that many won’t be able to participate in the vote because they have to leave to take care of their children others are sick and old These people cannot sit for too long, they too have to go back earlier.
4). From what have been said the whole PCC sitting is a lope sided one, if all the priests, pastors, church workers even diocesans’ priests and pastor are allow to vote. Don’t you know that all Priests and Pastors have pledged canonical obedience to the Bishop, so how can they goes against the bishop? Not to mention about the staffs and workers they have family to take care. To prevent the abuse of power by whoever chair the PCC meeting. churches because there are very few priest and pastors available to sit at PCC meeting and in most other churches the Priests in charge never abuse their power and they take every suggestions and advises seriously because at the end of the day The Clause VIII 1C of the Constitution of All Saints Cathedral must be removed. This problem does not arise in any other diocesans they are responsible for their own action just because in the Cathedral the chairperson not only is he the acting Dean But also the Bishop of Sabah. Because he is the Bishop he thinks he is above all and is not willing to accept suggestions and advises because I am the Bishop if I do that malu lah. So this connected to Resolution 1. The Bishop of Sabah should not also be the acting Dean of the Cathedral, unless he is willing to amend the said constitution. He can co-opt the four different services Priest in charge into the PCC with voting rights the rest of the priests, pastors workers and staffs should attend the meeting to feed information’s to the chairperson and the PCC members when require. They can give suggestions and advises but they cannot participate in voting. Actually this has been the norm of all churches in the diocese. As I have also been a PCC member in two churches including All Saints Cathedral both as a PCC and a staff. As a staff I was only allowed to give information as and when require regarding the work I do because only I can give most up to date records, and information of my section, in the meeting I can suggest anything that will bring improvement and benefit to the Church but I cannot vote. I believe while as priest in Tawau he must have used the above suggestion. Actually the PCC Chairman have the final say even if all the PCC voted against it but he alone will be held responsible. To be continue. The least

    ReplyDelete
  18. continue form the least. for his action, and the whole PPC can resign an blog but normally this does not happen because the Priest in charge will stand to lose more than gain. Unfortunately all our PCC is not united.
5). Regarding the House of Celebration a lot have been said about it both in this blog and outside. One thing I read from the AGM report is, there were so much praises from the dean warden the BM people warden regarding the house of celebration, I hope they use their wisdom and I hope they will do their very best to help the bishop to raise at least 50 odd millions. I can assure you that since so many people are against it, there will be very little money coming from the English and Chinese Congregation, unless the BM congregation can come up with RM 25,000,000 because we are asks to contribute 60% of the cost. If the BM congregation can raise RM1,000,000 a year it will take 25 years, unless you ask your bishop to sell more of our land. This is not a 3 or 5 million project, you must also think of the maintenance cost, just for lighting and air-condition alone will cost overRM500, 000 a year. The total maintenance cost per year will not be less than a million. Already we are running more than half a million deficit every year. Even maintaining All Saints Cathedral is a big problem what else a house of celebration. Don’t tell me about faith and prayer; maybe I believe it more than you do. The important thing is o know whether it is God will and His timing. You just have faith and pray for food and do nothing and see whether the food will drop in front of you. Fortunately God also gave us wisdom to think and we must use it wisely, in other words do not simply support blindly just because he is a bishop. Bishop is also human like you and me is fallible, he is not God and don’t treat him like one. Haven’t you read about bishop who does not believe in Jesus Christ, Gay bishop, lesbian bishop, bishop who commit sexual sins etc, our very own bishop Proud, Arrogant, no love, no compassion, leave in luxury, you cannot know a person outwardly.
6). In regard to the way the voting was carried out. It is also a sin to influence other to vote for or against a certain things, you not only sin against God but you also make other innocence people sin. We are not blind, some of the action done by BM members during voting time is uncalled for, like refusing to take voting paper from certain members, allow others to mark the voting paper who have left. How can you teach innocence young BM members to carry out such sinful acts? What kind Christian teaching are you imparting to the young BM members? I am really ashamed that such thing is taught. You taught them to cheat in front of God. I just cannot believe its happening in our church. Those of you who ask the innocence BM member to carry out such acts better repent and ask God forgiveness and not to repeat it on the next AGM. The least

  19. YTC said to keep everything within the 'family' what he did not know is that there is a blog in the Trinity church in UK a pentecostal one where AV went to give talks on church growth (what an irony) an ASC blog is also by the side of this blog. The UK blogger said ASC and his church have similarities . So now the members of the UK church also have access to ASC blog by a click and it will be on!! Members of ASC who are living overseas in Australia,Canada and UK are all concerned what is going on in the church and they too keep an eye on the present crisis especially on AV,so YTC, it is all over the world without us having to tell them.Don't try to give authority like your boss,it just does not work.

During the AGM,everything was revealed especially who are on AV's side and who are together with the honourable Dr Chhoa. Those who tried to bring him down are the ones in cahoot with AV.Now out of the mouth of AV's wife telling the BM workers their benefits will be taken away if they did not go against the resolution! This was from the mouth of the tyrant AV's dear wife whom he loves very much, so it is very true that those who work in the church such as the pastors/Priests are all scared to lose their rice bowls.

Don't worry BM workers, whoever takes over will not be so heartless like AV and his wife. You all did not do wrong, the only wrong you did was to vote against the resolution which defeated the purpose of bringing down AV's sole power in deciding matters. The power is now in the parishioners' hands, they are the ones who 'feed' all of you. What are your benefits,it cannot be compared to AV's benefits. He has a free mansion, big salary, free vehicles to drive, wife given free grant to her school, free travelling to all over the world under the guise of mission work.Don't you think compared to yours, yours are chicken feed. The wife is more concerned of losing their benefits rather then yours. That was why she threatened and put fear in the BM workers' hearts that AV would sack them if he knew who did not vote against the resolution.

Joshua Kong is very correct, have a committee of inquiry. The 'missing bishop' is forcing the members to do it the hard way which nobody wants to.Get prominent leaders to form a committee.Once it is formed the bishop has to go on leave so that the committee can get access to the files without the bishop preventing them.If all else fail then go public, get outside help. Then it will not be a family affair. The statement of accounts is a vague one,yes where is Mary Poppin's academy accounts? If it is not given out all the more to press on to see why her husband gave her school nearly 170,000 ringgit?Members want to know how she spent the 170,000 ringgit? This account has to be made known if refused, take action against her!! Now that makes two of them. This husband and wife team are getting on the parishioners' nerves!

  21. This was the first time in ASC history that members came out in full force to make their cries heard. If they did not do that in unison, the bishop would think he could bully them and get away with everything using God's name in vain. This is only the beginning and if he does not resign on his own he will be forcing the people to decide his fate for him.As it is AV's name is as rotten as salt fish. You still have some dignity if you are like the honourable Ronny Liew whom you edged out using your evil ways, take your followers with you and start your own church using your own fund.Don't use the church's fund under the guise of Anglican Mission work. The church bank account is already milked dry and soon church properties will be sold if he still hangs on.AV will never agree to the second resolution by changing the constitution so that his voting power is curbed.Never heard of a church election involves priests from other diocese. What has it got to do with them for they are not involved in the running of ASC?They have their own churches to run.Do priests from other churches also involved the voting when it comes to their churches having general elctions? If not for our honorable Dr.Chhoa who is one of the most honest PCC members telling us how the voting system is done ever since AV came into the picture, the parishioners did not know a thing because it was always hushed hushed and we wondered why the Standing committee and the PCC agreed to such outrageous mega projects even though the church has no means to do it not realizing priests are also involved in this lopsided voting system.

The power of this bishop is too strong and if all of us are UNITED with ONE VOICE and CRY OUT to OUR GOD,nothing is impossible. The presence of the huge crowd turning up for the AGM already proof enough that nothing is impossible with God's help.

  22. This item of appointment/ election of auditor always at the end of AGM when the members already almost exhausted has been for years given very little attention.

In 2012, there was not given a chance to another nomination as the Chairman stated that the incumbent had accepted to be retained for another year.

Any auditor staying too long would not be good if the job is seen to be NOT done properly.

There are good reasons for this case namely:-

    1. The treasurer stated that the PCC did not know about the 2011 account although the auditor dated the report on 19 March, 2011 and that is on the same day as the PCC - last meeting- for the 2012 AGM. Was the audit report's delay -the cause for the non presentation to the PCC?

    2. Is the auditor also the treasurer of the ADOS? What good would this be for ASC? Would there be a conflict of interest?

    3. I think there are a few other qualified accountants and auditors in ASC to take that job. I am not interested/available in this job at the moment.

    4. The question of ASAA statement of income and expenditure not included in the ASC annual account 2011.

    5. The omission of foreign income by the acting dean in his overseas trips.

NB: There was so little time in one hour on 1st April, 2012 to study the complete reports in so many pages and small prints just before the AGM. What is this hidden agenda? Despite the one hour, many questions and comments were raised indicating that the reports and the accounts are clearly inadequately dealt with by those concerned. Another big mistake is the RM3m collected by the ASC for the CC when it was stated earlier that RM300k was the figure since the CC fund was launched.

There is always the option that ASC appoints an independent audit firm to audit ASC as it is now in the tens of millions of assets and incomes with important projects. We need to consider this and a few thousands rm in fees is not a problem for ASC.

On the Police Report, it can be done anytime if most parishioners support this move.
I would hope a few members would do it together and supported by a great numbers of ASC and other Anglican members - the more the merrier and then the press would play on it - good for the Church indeed to revive it from rottenness..because of one man show.

We have to make an appointment ourselves and turn up at the Karamunsing Police Station and flood the open space there...to get maximum attention..

Then we will see the immediate results...for the missing in action MAN cannot be tolerated.

  26. For those of you who want a soft copy of ASC constitution then somehow get to me your email address.
I would like to confirm that in Article 15 of the constitution, if there is an amendment to it, there need to be a two third of the total members present. Further, no amendments can become valid until it has received the approval of the Bishop.
So rightly pointed out by the Diocesean Chancellor (who happens to be a member of the Cathedral), resolution 2 required a two third majority as it is an amendment. There is a further hurdle that the Bishop need to approve the amendment to become valid.
There is no chancellor of the Cathedral, as far as I know but maybe legal advisors.
The Chancellor of the Diocese is a legal man and he does not take sides but interprets the Diocese constitution. Suffice to note that the Bishop has overwhelming wide powers in the Diocese affairs and if he abuses his powers, catastrophic ripple effects would be felt.
We do not expect an anointed and God fearing man with fruits of Holy Spirit to be doing self interests and carrying out abusive behaviour. The Bishop is a man and is a sinner too like us and needs repentance from God. He is definitely not God, far from it. We, as members of the Church respect him as a leader but not answerable to him but to God. God has given us discerning gifts and need to use this gift in times like these, especially relatng to the preaching that comes out from the pulpit nowadays.
As mentioned by the Chancellor, there should be clergies and lay readers and laity in the PCC to run church/cathedral affairs. Presently, the no of clergies etc. overwhelms the laity members and I believe this was deliberatly done with self interests of the acting dean who happens to be the Bishop and who demands canonical obedience to serve the Church. Hello mate!! Respect is earned not forced.
To call an EGM is not difficult. Only need 20 signatures from the electrol roll and within 30 days of such request and 14 days notice of meeting. A quorum of 80 is required for the meeting
Personally, I do not think the Bishop would have approved the 2 resolutions even if both passed. He will just ignore it unless God convicts his heart.
The affairs of the Cathedral cannot remain as it is now. My heart hurts as my late father has put in so much of his effort to build the Diocese of Sabah esp in the difficult times of oppression and insufficient financial resources. He has given special attention to the present Bishop to send him to the best theological college, more than his own children interests, and now he is turning into a megalomania dictator. There are good things that he has done for the Diocese so far but there must be full disclosure and transparency of his actions. I can feel the pent up sadness and anger in Mr Kong CY and parishioners as he/they has seen and gone through the very difficult times of the Diocese of Sabah till to day. So, in the people dean's report at AGM, we have today because of the solid foundation and God's grace put in place earlier. Numbers are not everything but the conviction of the hearts of God's people is very important too.
If the administration of the Cathedral do not change, I will make some proposal so that it will change for sure - finance !!! very easy

      Dear Philip,
I fully sympathise and grieve with you. As the Bible says Proverbs 15 :27 "He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house,But he who hates bribes will live."
      1 Timothy 3 :
"1 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop,[a] he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober–minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,[b] but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil."

Three things that lead us to sin, are lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life. These things fit into today's world and satan uses all the time and even to attack the church today especially the leaders of the church. Strike the Shepherd and the flock of sheep will scatted. The evil ones are already launching an attack as described in Angelica Zambrano's Testimony http://spiritlessons.com/documents/Prepare_to_meet_your_God/index.htm

Sometimes I wonder why the wrath of God has not come down to punish the evil doers, then I understand from the scriptures say that Isaiah 55 :'8
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.'
God is very merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy, is awaiting him to repent for what he has done to the church. The Righteous will prevail.

  27. I think the Dean warden from the BM congregation must have been brain washing the BM people.I heard that some of them did not even know what the crisis is about and so they just followed what their leader told them to do.Their minds are very simple and they are being taken advantage of because of their simplicity .They are being used when it comes to election.BM Dean warden has to praise the bishop like YTC and the Los to get into the good book of AV,they pledged their loyalty to him.It is so sad to see these people not pledging their loyalties to God but to ONE MAN who is a dictator! Because of material things they all have forgotten that they are there to do God's work not AV's.

It is so heartening that 2 former bishop's sons are at the fore front wanting to put right what is happening in the church. If the seniors and other long term worshippers in ASC feel the pain of what is happening now what more the 2 sons are feeling right now and their mother! Phillip and James and others who will be involved ,whatever proposals you take we will support you all and if there is a need to give-just let us know and we will send money to your account. This is a better way of helping than to give to the CC fund.

  28. What a stupid thing to say pray in faith for the money to come to build the CC when it is not the will of God only the will of BAV! Let's stop giving for one month and see what will happen? Maybe money will fall from the sky? If what you ask for is not in accordance to God's will,God will not answer your prayers. If you listen to your bishop, you are only agreeing to his corrupt ways.Even by giving one ringgit into the offering bag, your rector already cursed you-why didn't he walk by faith, why did he curse those not to give more?
Those who are in charge of the BM congregation,I hope your eyes are not blind as soon as you see ringgits flashed before you. I heard that the bishop is very generous to the BM people using money to buy their votes,I suppose, but those are not his money, they belong to the members. What is the point of contributing when the account is already zero! Where has the money gone to?

JK --- Philip please get this better organised for the EGM and hope 20 signatures would be happy to sign them. I would like to make some motions to be included.

JK --I think the congregation can organise themselves in a Committee of Inquiry CoI and start working on it. How can anyone expect an Inquiry to be set up to examine the BIG sin of the 'one man show" himself. This man would likely to ignore those 2 motions as per P Chhoa. So If we have EGM, this man would also unlikely to comply with more motions not in his favour. CoI would work as a last resort for AV to be accountable.

JK ---About the Police Report, I propose that be done on the afternoon of 11 April, 2012 as it is a public holiday and our members can be free to attend. 4 or 5 serious Anglican members can get in touch with me to organise this event and be in the front line. 34. Another important question for the AGM.

While many smaller and less connected organisations take the advantage of any such anniversary such as the golden centenarian jubilee to make some fund for the organisation, for ADOS and ASC, there is obvious a mismanagement of this special event to incur so much losses and who do we blame?

Is it the incapable 'one-man-show' to be blamed?

I want to see a full report on this event such as meeting minutes, accounting and documents and whatever quotation for the dinners and the printing of the souvenir magazines now written off.

If it was at 1Borneo for the dinner, the costs was obvious. Even with selling of tickets, loss of RM26,000 was incurred. So this is an abuse of the tithe not meant to be wasted like that.

Magazines would generally make some money if such magazines were intended to be sold. Why so much magazines of RM80k were unsold. The costs of printing these magazines could be off set/defrayed by some decent advertisements.

It is also an indication of the lack of support from the main congregations throughout Sabah not interested to celebrate the 100 years of the mother church in a grand and wasteful fashion.

So anyone can throw more lights on this sort of mismanagement?

I want to call for repentance, reconciliation and forgiveness. I, for one is a sinner and not perfect too. I wish to also clarify that the proposal to force a change in administration - 'in finance', is not seeking or raising funds from you all, not a single cent. I wish to let the matter rests for the time being and allow God's grace and timing to work in all our hearts including the Bishop and the clergies.

    1. Dear Philip,

Isn't it we have seen enough of the rottenness after five years now confirmed in writing especially at the AGM 2012.

Actually this blog started in Oct 2011 was the last resort for BAV to repent, reconcile and ask for forgiveness. Today it is seven months, and the scenario I have observed is getting worst for ASC and ADOS which I believe have a few major scandals which cannot be forgiven ad the people of God had been unnecessarily burdened by such crimes so naked to our eyes.

We are ordinary people also accountable to God.

But BAV asked all those volunteers to serve the church as lay readers etc to have canonical obedience when the one man show or the head is rotten.

There are enough grounds to move away from RRF now as it is s very stubborn head.

Has BAV started to act on the 1st Resolution at the AGM? No more delay.

We have seen all those cheating at the two votes.

The Rector considered 'one man show' as personal attack when no name was mentioned. So it only confirmed who the 'one man show' is with all those abuses already known.

I hope the BAV would immediate reply to my letter soon to be faxed to him.
I don't intend to see him as it is meaningless for the MIA acting Dean at the AGM.

With the Committee of Inquiry, we would request/demand all the relevant reports of those relevant projects.

The very important matters cannot be allowed to rest when BAV is using public fund or tithes to defend himself or remain silent hoping all the crisis would go away when the poor congregation suffer at own expenses 'silently' until now.

Someone told me the BAV can try to raise fund for the CC, and any members need not complain and just don't contribute. That is indeed a childish response when we have a tyrant.

In the Annual Report, we have seen how tens of thousands rm of collections at the Christmas eve service 2011 was banked directly to the ADOS account which is outside the accountabilty of the ASC. Were the congregation informed well ahead of such treatment? Did the PCC fully agree on this transfer of collections? Show me the records, please and that is a way of forgiveness.

BAV is likely desperate in need to pay those involved in the CC project without a full project report. It was disclosed that ADOS had so far collected RM3m for the CC project and please provide the accounts for ASC members as ASC is responsible for 60% of the project fund. If this kind of non transparency goes on, it is definitely bordering on a scam as the public would perceive it. Show us the records as s sign of penance now. please.

    1. Michael Tong Yin Shiew's responsibility is endless.

He always supported BAV blindly when he is the Dean's warden in the PCC. He would always challenge Rosalind Liew's professionalism just to be on BAV's side.

In the Standing Committee, his support for BAV is non-stop. He even asked the SC to buy a new expensive car for BAV when BAV tried to be humble and asked for a 2nd hand car (Toyota CRV). This was a pre-planned show. That is why bav is now driving expensive cars.

It is reported that he more or less gave his previous Ninja to bav (at a very cheap price at an exchange transaction).

Bishop going to repent, humble himself and say sorry? He and his right hand people already sounded out that the parishioners are the ones who should and they have no right to criticize the spiritual leaders!! Maybe in the next life they will change! We have a long road to go,Phillip do you think he will give up his power after having it for 6 years and all of a sudden he can't do the things he wants to do and have to consult and listen to others? He is the bishop as he often says. You have no right to query.Mary Poppins said,if you don't like ASC the way it is run,GET OUT! Get it,not them but those who oppose! He thinks he is a class above others,if he wants to work together with others to decide on church matters,he would have done so long ago. There are so many unanswered questions that the bishop wants to avoid making everyone thinks there is no transparency.Yes,we are all sinners but knowing something is not right,do we just stand by and keep hoping and praying that he will come to his senses one day and repent? By then the church will go bankrupt. The bishop has become a dictator and if we do not take actions soon the church will be run by people all of the same feather and where do true believers worship? 6 long years is a long time to tolerate one person who has no intention to have dialogue with anyone.never ask for advice from anyone. He knows all. There are so many professional people in our church, doctors, dentists, engineers, accountants, auditors, land valuers, surveyors, bankers, lawyers, developers and many others.Has he ever approached anyone of them for advice? He did not even listen to the advice of some Anglican members about soil testing before building the Kokol Prayer center and now look at the consequences.

They don't even want to know where they have gone wrong and improve themselves. They said all lies but do not come out to prove why they are not lies. They are all in denial but nevertheless,we can wait and see what this bishop says.Better be prepared for the next course of action if the bishop refuses to approve the 2 resolutions. If he agrees to have a Dean, you think he will not choose one in cahoot with him? What then? Better get ready and set out the conditions of choosing a Dean. The reason why he chose YTC to be a rector is to do the job of a dean but this rector may as well not be there. He is in name only.Back to square one.

You are a real coward dog running away from your own AGM, with your tail between your legs.

As the acting Dean (and also bishop) you have fixed the AGM for 1st April long before hand and then you decided to escape to Bangkok during your own AGM (once a year meeting) at the same time.

You knew the Parish Accounts will reveal everything you have successfully hidden so far and many pertinent questions will be raised on your wicked and corrupt leadership.

Where is your integrity and credibility?

You always proudly declare that you fear no man.

But your planned escape to Bangkok shows that you dare not face God's men and God's women at your own AGM.

Satan's grip on you is getting stronger by the day.

    YOU MUST STOP PREACHING IMMEDIATELY.

The AGM accounts have shown that ASC had a deficit of RM654,144.45 in 2011 and RM577,852.98 in 2010.

Did the blog tell lies about the corruption and abuse of spending by all you so called "SPIRITUAL LEADERS."

The total deficits of RM1,231,997.43 as shown by figures cannot tell lies.

The 5 of you must confess before God's altar on Easter Sunday Service at 7.30 a.m. at All Saints' Cathedral to either - deny that you have tainted your hands by stealing God's money for your own benefit by accepting cash benefits from contractors, parishioners or other benefits in kinds by approving expenditures through ASC accounts OR confess to God and all of God's people present that you have indeed tainted your hands resulting in the massive deficits of RM1,231,997.43.

This is the only true and meaningful way for you to celebrate Holy Week and Easter tide.

These so called preachers have lost all spiritual and moral authority and have given themselves fully over to Satan. No one will listen to their sermons (bluffings) anymore.

May God have mercy on All Saints' Cathedral and bless us with a new set of SPIRITUAL LEADERS and a NEW SEASON.

The Diocese Chancellor, Datuk Stephen Foo is the greatest joke in the AGM.

He thought he is only the advisor to bav. So he said everything to help bav when the 2 resolutions come up.

He did'nt realise that his job covers the greater picture of protecting God's diocese and God's church in ASC and in Sabah.

He did not speak at all on the big deficits of over RM1M for the past 2 years and the corrupt and illegal practices and policies of bav causing so many speakers to condemn bav rightly at the AGM.

Surely he cannot condemn bav of bav's wrongdoings.

In fact, Datuk Stephen Foo always sided bav in all Standing Committee meetings, including the one in late February 2012 when Paul Liew and Dr. James Chhoa tried their best to persuade bav to defend himself from all the accusations in the blog and to reconcile with the people.

Any responsibility on Stephen Foo's part in the very messy situation in ASC and the diocese of Sabah? Is he a bold and responsible chancellor?

    1. For a ordinary member like me once I read through the list for members of PCC. That is the appointed member occur 70% & 30% were elected PCC member. Priesthood made up 17 member, 4 people warden & 12 elected member. It look strange. In this point Dr James knows the constitution is wrongly used by Bishop Vun.That is the reason , he proposed that clause in VIII 1C be removed from the constitution.
We have been informed many Pre decision had made before it table in the PCC meeting. As said PCC just call for 2 seating & approved the CC building with cost RM 30 million in the preliminary, but it could completed in RM $ 40 M - RM $ 45 M.ASC would contribute 60% of the cost likely RM $ 24 million. For us, related to this project many area still very unclear about it . A 3000 seat hall , car park new office block & excise courts. Do the PCC member rally understand this project ???
How many car park are make ? If a hall for 3000 people. Put it 4 person /car. we need 750 car park. What are you go to do with car park beside Sunday ? Storing dust? How many square feet of land be used ? How many square feet of building be create ? How many square feet of office block is ready ? Are you going to light up the light in the car park through out the night ? Do you need more cleaner & securities ? In last year,ASC had spend over RM $ 100K for those manpower. What is the church growth rate. Last year ASC regular worshipers only have 2338 people in SEVEN services. Year 2010, was 2324 worshipers. Only increased slightly 14 people.Which mean 0.06% increased. How many people you need to recruited yearly to reach 5000 in year 2018 ? Are you plan for a bi- lingo service once the CC ready ? What about those HALLS ? Which spend so much money for upgrading.Do parishioners able to give RM $ 24 million in the shortest time ? Every Sunday preach more about PROSPERITY? How many storey are build for the CC ?
For the PCC member, I do not think many of you rely understand the whole project. Just 2 seating most of you agreed to go ahead with this project.
Even a fresh graduated from theological are in the PCC. And most of Pastor were never serve in the corporate sectors. To made such important decision for the future ASC.
Bishop Vun & Fake Priest is not genius too, let me point out few examples; our five star male toilet unuseable for the kids, those 3 nos of urine bowl only provided for men height. Pavilion with make us more sin, free breakfast, GRACE never be say by any PRIEST. Parishioners only rushing for food. Rumah Bishop , do away the main hall, with able to host 100 people , converted one game room , 2 washroom, a office & private living room. The made over for his owned never like BISHOP YONG the big hall is for the PARISHIONERS. Prayer House etc.
For those Yes Men & Women in PCC, ASC acct is in deficit, how ??? Why you could not understand the budget proposed by ROSALIND ? For those only know to say yes PCC members, do you have , this 4 element in your Christian Life as PCC member.
      1:Committed Christian.
      2:Consistence Christian-Witnesses.
      3:Consecrate Christian.
      4:Common sense Christian.

Sad. But Stephen Foo Kiat Sing has lost his credibility. As a lawyer he should not condone the wrongs of bishop Albert Vun. To think that he was the state attorney. In any case he wasn't chosen on merit. Pairin appointed him because they shared the same office in the AG chambers as public prosecutors. Also it was on Pairin's wife's insistence because he is a Hainanese like her. "Kakinan".

Rev Canon Yong Thiam Choi - SUPREME CRONY AND WICKED MASTER-MIND.

Your preaching on 25th March 2012 centred on Acts 5 - Ananias and Sapphira. You deliberately used these 2 characters and their deaths to threaten the 7.30 a.m. congregation.

God's judgment will now be on you now that the AGM accounts show that you have a big share in causing the big deficits of RM1,231,997.43. You are a co-signatory to all the cheques signed by your big boss bav or the dean's warden.

Yet you blasted the congregation for giving RM1.00 in the stewardship envelops.

Now many people will not even give RM1.00. Even such envelopes from now on will not be given. Many people will not give to ASC anymore, whether tithing or to the grand House of Celebrations of RM30,000,000.00 - into the pockets of thieves and robbers.

But you don't need to worry financially. A lot of the deficits money have gone into your pockets already.

For 30 pieces of silver, you had done everything and said everything to please your boss BAV - just to benefit yourself financially.

The Harvest Festival Holiday is just round the corner, end of May. Why not book your air tickets and expensive hotels for another grand holiday with your family.

But better that you buy your family air tickets for a 1-way journey back to Kampar, Perak once and for all.

ASC will have a new season soon and you will have no share in it.

The high-handed actions of BAV have really taken effect and is now filtering down.

Assistant Bishop John Yeo has recently chosen and bought an expensive car - Toyota Harrier 4 wheel drive himself and then presented the bill to St. Patrick's PCC for payment.

Doesn't this sound familiar? "I want all the best and most expensive things. I have already bought them - now you issue cheque."

St. Patrick's church will be the next to go bankrupt after ASC. Why not? The absolute leadership style (Don't ask question and don't query me attitude) is now taking root in Tawau again.

It was in Tawau where it all started when Rev. Albert Vun was transferred there in the early 1990's.

Bishop Melter - Why don't you enjoy yourself and buy an Alphard or Estima. Then demand that your Parish pay for this expensive car.

This type of action is perfectly okay for all assistant bishops, Rev's and clergy because BAV himself started practising this and continues to do so.

The whole diocese will go bankrupt soon because this attitude is the norm of the day.

"SPEND AS YOU LIKE AND THEN PREACH AT THE PULPIT (CURSE AND THREATHEN IF NECESSARY) DEMANDING THAT THE PEOPLE TITHE AND GIVE MORE."

  47. As far as l understand, it is not easy to get a license from the Education Ministry to operate a private school. I am very doubtful that the ASAA do has a valid license to operate especially if operated by a Christian organization. If there is going to be new resolutions that need to be passed in the next EGM, we have to appoint some one to guard the process of voting. It seems that we cannot trust the people who is running the church now. I am not sure whether ASC or the DOS need to be registered with the ROS. If so, the recent AGM could be regarded as illegal because the acting Dean was not chairing the meeting. We may have lost the battle during the AGM because the resolutions would not be endorsed by BAV but the war is not over yet. To show our unity, all parishioners must come together to accompany when making a police report. That will make headline and an impact.

They will do anything to cheat people because their master is their 'shepherd' I will not be surprised if YTC calls the parishioners to come for the altar call to own up their own sins and he will PRAY for them to REPENT!

Joshua is doing the right thing to lodge a police report, now that he has got the facts. Is it confirmed and what time at the Karamunsing police station? Get a reporter as well. This is the only way to get the upper hand of the bishop and his cronies. If he does not come out to answer to the allegations then the court is the next best thing and never mind about washing dirty linen in public, because the bishop wants it that way.He is asking for it. 7 months,he remains silent and avoiding the parishioners. In the bible, there are so many stories about people supposed to be chosen by God sinned and these stories were written for all to read, there was no hiding of the sins that they had committed.God did not hide anything from his people, you are there to read them and if they repent and turn back to the right path, you are forgiven. Why is this bishop such a recalcitrant !
Husband and wife ,a perfect team.

It is a good idea to check if this Academy is licensed.I heard the one in Tawau is also not licensed. Not sure of the one over in KL. If they are not, that means we are operating illegal businesses in the church! I am still skeptical about the Kokol center having OC.If it has, then corruptions must have been involved with the authorities, plans submitted after building was built according to one blogger's report.

Right from the beginning,we knew John Yeoh and AV wear the same pants! Now we cannot have John Yeoh as our next bishop after AV because it will be the same thing all over again.Good for St Patrick people to reveal what is happening over at your end.Treasurer,if a thing is bought without approval from your PCC and ask you to sign, don't do it ,tell JY to take it back! If not, you may be in trouble too.Be like our girl-Rosalind-stand tall for what is right!

  50. If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints?

Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases?

Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!

Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church!

I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers?

But instead, one brother goes to law against another--and this in front of unbelievers!

The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?(1 Corinthians 6:1-6)

About the police report, can we have other better option?

We have no idea how the Church properties, personnels, assets etc will be treated in the hands of the police, in a "you know i know" situation. God have mercy.

    3. It is too late to bring in the scripture here as the scripture or Bible has been challenged when the word "Allah" is not in the Bible and yet 'onemanshow' became partner in a law suit confirming our traditional English Bible is not fully true. So what is wrong here to go Police Report in similar fashion now?

Anglicans have very short memory indeed . In 1993/1994, there was a major incident where Robert Lairdon and 50 other americans were sent off home by the order of the Police. It had something to do with the Vun family too.
Did the ADOS and ASC and possibly another anglican church in KK insist that the priest in charge lodge a Police Report against a lady who was not really wrong in some sense.

So today, we are all staring at the Police Report. There is nothing to fear man if what had been done is blessed by God.

So it is indeed a very selfish and selective people at the helm.

There is now NO stopping for the Police Report to save the ASC vis-a-vis ADOS - the very big picture as the onemanshow is still stubborn not to reply to my letter and perhaps to acknowledge the said letter faxed to BAV office this morning.

So where got chance to solve the crisis within the church.?

No good any other persons trying to defend onemanshow now.

The time line for proper action has been ticking since 2006 and even much earlier even before BAV came to ASC.

Let God now show the way forward and many parishioners - Anglicans in KK and Sabah support this Police Report. Dont need to be members of ASC as long as you are Anglicans -past and present.

Thank you for another mighty deed again after AGM.

    4. Thank you John for your understanding in the bigger picture of the ASC (and ADoS) situation which is in an impasse or deadlock. Unfortunately, at present, the leadership of this faith community, for what ever reason, is not responding to the anguish of the parishioners and appear to be oblivious to their outcry. I concur with you in that the parishioners should not be hasty in taking any steps to address the matters outside the parish (diocese) at this point of time. Lets all continue to cry out to Father God.

Luk 12:58 "When you go with your adversary to the magistrate, make every effort along the way to settle with him, lest he drag you to the judge, the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.

    5. For people of God to discern..

While some people want to use Scriptural verses selectively, God does show us other ways.

God in the morning English service at 7.30am on 1st April, has spoken to ASC and ADOS, if we want to take note of that " Here come the King" when Hosanna is "Save us now" and Jesus would be weeping when he come to ASC and ADOS for many reasons in this crisis. Satan is in confusion according to the offering hymn.

So "Save ASC and ADOS now.", as the whole church including the Bishop and clergy and not only the congregation is guilty in some ways. We can leave everything to God and we need to be pro-active to solve our prevailing crisis with God. Now

So it was at the AGM to draw up a programme of resolving the crisis before the crisis worsens., but the acting Dean was missing in action to do that.

So nothing within the church, and so we go outside to do that.

Like all major crisis especially the vote of no confidence in the acting Dean in the 1st motion at the AGM, the 'onemanshow' should be suspended or go on leave as dean and also Bishop, while the investigation is underway after the Police Report.

Can the chancellor tell us more on this procedure please?

Re: Post Questions and comments of AGM 2012 0n 1st April, 2012

I am giving a brief letter as a follow up to your missing in action at the last AGM. I expect a reply also by fax by Monday, the 9th April, 2012.

    1. A post mortem report of the PCC for the Centenarian Celebration where financial losses were incurred addressing all relevant issues concerned on the overall organization of the project..
    2. When and where would the Kokol Prayer Summit’s OC be exhibited preferably at the ASC entrance?
    3. The details of three cheques unsigned by the hon Treasurer in 2011 including all documents for scrutiny. Photocopies would be acceptable for now.
    4. The accounts of All Saints Anglican Academy since the beginning and the licence of the ASAA.
    5. The full report on the Celebration Centre and statement of accounts of the fund so far collected by ASC and the Anglican Diocese plus the other agreements especially the contractor’s agreement if already signed. The working paper for the total project would be appreciated.
    6. Would you agree to attend to the Committee of Inquiry if it is established?
    7. Have you acted on the 1st Resolution of the AGM to appoint a senior priest as the Dean of the ASC?
    8. Please give full reports of all your travels overseas on missions or otherwise.
    9. How would you resolve the massive deficits of the funds in ASC in 2011 and 2012?
    10. Why did you not give a Dean’s report for the AGM 2012? Rector’s report is inadequate for three months only.
    11. Why did you not sign the minute of AGM 2011 when there were some important errors?

All the above questions could be asked and answered by you if you were the Chairman of AGM 2012.

So I hope you would resolve all the crisis in ASC vis-à-vis ADOS now, and failing which we are in more precarious position as a religious establishment.

Praise God for this small, humble and brief letter. Go to the blog for much more.

  55. In the heat of our anger, it is easy to react emotionally with our rationale a bit far behind (and whatever spirituality we have left :)), myself very much included. However, after reading the comment by Annonymous of 4th April 2012, 7.47 pm, I pondered over the matter and thought it was a good reminder from the concerned brother or sister that we should bring this matter before the saints first before we bring it to the unbelievers. Perhaps many of us think it is pointless, but being faithful Christians, shouldn't we follow the Bible's teachings and guidelines as a mark of our obedience to the Lord Jesus? In this way, we would not be wrongly accused of being "rebellious children" and acting out of line.

As many have commented, enough of "talk". Let's get down to action. Yes, there were also many suggestions on how to go about taking action from this point forth. I wonder what you guys think about first going to higher authority within the Anglican community, who, in this case is the Archbishop of the Province of South East Asia who oversees the four Dioceses of Kuching, Sabah, West Malaysia and Singapore - the Most Reverend Bolly Lapok who is also currently the Bishop of Diocese of Kuching.

I've searched the internet for his contact and you may find this useful. His address and email as as follows:

    The Most Revd Bolly Lapok
    Office tel : 082-240187
    Office Fax : 082-426488
    email address: bishopk@streamyx.com
    Mailing address: Bishop's House
    P.O. Box 347
    93704 Kuching, Sarawak

May I suggest that we gather much concrete support before we take concerted action to present our grievannces to the Archbishop. It is also a sign of our respect and submission to authority by consulting the Archbishop first. If he doesn't respond, then only we take the matter up with the police or the court. What do you all think?

As I read the blogs,I can see the big devil has quite a few little ones. The truth is slowly coming out and these devils are cheating the church .Do you all standby and see your church falling apart? All pretend nothing is happening? Go to church on Sundays, smile, praise and worship and receive holy communion from defiled hands, shake hands with them and go home and sulk? If your bishop is in hiding and does not sign the minutes of the AGM what then? This can't go on forever. If nothing is done.members are thinking of leaving, rather than be stuck in a church where nothing can be done. Those who prefer not to go to court are already defeated by the devil. AV is not a true Christian. If he is a born again Christian,he will not do what he has done and not act like what he is doing. He has no fruits of the holy spirit so you can still regard him as a Christian?.He is a wolf in sheep's clothing-not our brother in Christ.

The bible tells us to discern and not every spiritual leader is a man of God. It is already stated very clearly in the bible,AV does not have any of the fruits of the Holy spirit .Yes,we are all sinners and are accountable to God one day.God will judge us and will judge AV but in the meantime he is chasing all the christians away especially those who were supposed to lead the sheep. Cronies of his are preaching the wrong message in church.I can fore see many will leave like the church in Heritage.I heard only 10 left, only the musicians are staying behind.
Well members to lodge or not to lodge, that is the question. Has anyone written to Archbishop Bolly about this, get his advice and see what he says.

I appeal to you, Joshua and members of All Saints Cathedral parish not to carry out a police report too.

This week is Holy Week and today is Maunday Thursday that commemorates the last Holy Communion with his disciples before He is crucified on the Cross and also commemorates the washing of the feet of disciples by Jesus showing much humility.
Easter commemorates the Risen Christ that is the crux of our Christian belief.
I appeal to all Anglicans to go to church on Easter, the most important calender event of our Church (not Christmas).
Let us focus and meditate on our Christ and His suffering on the Cross so that we can have salvation in Him and in the the Risen Christ.

  61. Dear Mr.Joshua Kong,
Before you lodge a police report,we would like to urge you to consult a lawyer to ensure that you have a very airtight case and very compelling documentary evidence against Albert Vun Chong Fui.
This is to ensure that the thief is put behind bar for good or else you are making him a hero should the Police decide to drop the case due to lack of evidence.
Having said the above and if you decide to lodge the report, do have a good heart to keep the disbanded mothers union posted, so that they can prepare kiu nyuk & pak sam kai for Albert Vun for his meals at the lock up.
    Thank you.

  62. Forensic accountant, a true blue-blood chartered accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Scotland5 April 2012 at 16:44

There has been reports of accounting irregularities in public companies on Bursa Malaysia. The latest being Xiang Leng Holdings Bhd in which the auditors PwC said that was lack of evidence that RM85.7 million portion of the RM90.7 million was paid to contractors. There has been questions raised on the person who authorised the transactions and the persons who signed the cheques. As I read this news article, it dawned on me that something similar might have happened with the ASC and diocesan accounts. Can we investigate? Who are our auditors? Has there been any conflict of interests, related party dealings that have not been disclosed? Why is the so-called "professional" accountant so eager to push through the RM30 million deal? Why RM30 million? It is RM30 million from the sale of 13.5 acres of Likas land and RM30 million to build a convention centre which will become a white elephant. Who is making the money? Who brokered the deal? Investigation starts now.

PS: ACCAs and FCCAs are never recognised as Chartered Accountants

  63. According to a parishioner in Tawau, that the next church to go bankrupt is St .Patrick where the assistant bishop like AV splashed money on a Toyota Harrier without going through their PCC. Knowing what is happening in ASC,this so called man of God disregards everything and went ahead with the buying. One person spends lavishly is more than enough.now we have two.Parishioners of Tawau church you must be like your ASC's brothers and sisters in Christ, stand firm, united with one voice and appose what is not right. You had made a mistake once by being too lenient to AV now he thinks ASC people are also timid ones but what a surprise he has now.

I think we should send in a proper outside auditing firm to do the auditing for the church accounts to find out the irregularites of ASC/ADOS as well as the ASAA. Committee of inquiry is very important, otherwise no one has the authority to go ahead with the investigations.AV must go on leave when investigations are going on and we do not want John Yeoh to be the acting bishop, period! We have to start now.No more delaying if you all do not want Joshua to lodge his police report. He is waiting for AV to answer his faxed queries.See if he will.

3 couples ( 1. BAV & wife; 2. assistant Bishop John Yeo & wife; 3. BAv's ex-personal assistant Esther Liew and spouse ) were found having a holiday together overseas in United States in 2011.

Question is who paid for the air tickets of these people? Hello, St Patrick? Interior priests and assistant bishops gave huge love gifts to our BAV to these holiday trips. I feel sorry for the interior people because their money is hard earned. Are they aware their money are spent as such?

See how and why BAV control his cronies and keep all the yes men in the Diocese?

Investigations into the church accounts is the way to get at them and then if found there is hanky panky, then lodge police report. With the external auditors' report if found irregularities, then we have sound evidences to sue all these cronies.

    Most Reverend Datuk Bolly Lapok

    Your lordship Archbishop,

I think you can do something for the Anglican Diocese of Sabah.

I intend to lodge a Police Report against the Acting Dean of All Saints Cathedral /Bishop
of Sabah for various serious offences and possible crimes such as
    Abuses of power; Financial Irregularities and mismanagement;

Missing in Action/ irresponsible and Unaccounted incomes from overseas.

It is normal that Bishop Albert Vun be suspended until he clears all those allegations.

So I pray you will use your high office to deal with this to glorify God.

There are enough allegations which had been confirmed true in the blog since October 2011.

  67. There are all sorts of people around.
Some people can be selective to suit their fancy and some with known agenda.

We need to judge here whether we like it or not.

The voting result of the 1st Motion at the AGM already conclusive as no confidence on the acting Dean who call himself Dean of ASC. So what are we waiting for now after a week even in the Holy Week to put something RIGHT straight away.

Unless anyone ask for forgiveness when public interest is concerned, such forgiveness cannot be unilateral and nothing would happen. There maybe times that on the personal level, forgiveness can be one way only. In this the damages done already irreparable and cannot be allowed to continue as if those wrongs were right actually.

If we have to act, we have to judge before we act.

Going by all the allegations here, it BAV really doing God's work? So is he really a Christian shepherd when he had been forcing his sheep to leave the church. BAV also demands canonical obedience to him and not GOD to serve in the church as volunteers as lay readers etc. Normally all matured Christians know why they want to serve voluntarily in Church. If they are not sincere, they will not stay long in such voluntary services.

So is BAV doing God's work? Is BAV really a Christian exhibiting God's LOVE for his sheep? Such LOVE is the the result of the Gift of Holy Spirit or Fruit of the Holy Spirit to sustain anyone in such humble service.

Going by all the allegations here, BAV seems to be more involved lopsidedly in spending public money or tithe excessively in properties like selling existing church assets at 'low' prices and buying new properties at high prices. You all can find these allegations here.

About Kokol Prayers Retreat Center in ADOS's website, ADOS only managed to raise RM600,000 out of the expected RM4.2m initially and yet the Dean Warden was so boastful of that project in his report to the AGM 2012.

This is another great folly of the Acting Dean whose name does appear in the ASC of the ADOS website, and he did not sign the erroraneous AGM minute of 2011, There was no Dean report for AGM 2012 clearly he was largely absent from ASC in 2011. The Rector appointed on 5th September, 2011 had only give a report for slightly more than 3 months. Can anyone forgive BAV for such insulting acts to God? He had taken the full year salary as acting Dean and the deanery occupied by other people which is another abuse. The Rector should move into the Deanery until such time a new dean is appointed.

The list of all sorts of questionable activities and behaviour can be provided here.

About the Police Report, is there any lawyer to do it for FOC and in confidence?

It is unfair for BAV if not suspended to have access to the church fund to defend himslef against his own misdeeds as alleged. The legal fees could he hefty given the many issues raised.

If really BAV wants to apologise, then a string of terms and conditions would be defined for proper settlement.

  69. Attended Good Friday service yesterday at ASC.
Bishop sermon was about " FORGIVENESS ".
As servant of God and spiritual leader of DOS, we would like to urge our Bishop to put words into action. You need to come before our Lord, the Parishioners, PCC elected members and all the Priests that you had forced them to resign to ask for their forgiveness for all the wrongs that you have done.
We are very certain all the Priests that you had sacked and Parishioners are not as ' HEARTLESS 'like you. We don't think you will be asked to vacate the Bishop lodge within 24 hrs, like what you did to Dean Khoo. Rev. Quek, Rev. Chin & Rev. Fu and others.
Be a man, discard the denial syndrome and humble yourselve before the Lord and the Parishioners.
Fake Rev. Philip Lo did an almost excellent sermon until stupidity get the better of him by revealing that he lost his children while holiday in London Legoland.
WOW, having holiday for the whole family in London ??????, who paid for the trip ?
This is the person that Albert Vun said he TRUSTED the most and left all the developments, renovations and purchases under his care. Albert's Project Director &
Mission Director who on records revealed that he can't keep tap of his children even in Tanjung Aru Beach, let along managing DOS mission & projects.
Now you guys know why so many Priests had gone missing & ASC 2 years RM 1.16 million deficits ?

    1. Totally agreed. Fake Rev Lo has to fine tune further before he is qualified further to preach. Going up to the pulpit to share one's experience one incident after another merely testimonies these should not be 98% of the contents of the message of a sermon. Word of God is only few lines read out from the Bible. I am sure lots of others non stipendary also can preach better than this.

Did you guys realise there was a clear difference in the sermon between a theologically trained preacher and theologically untrained?

God have mercy on us for the foolishness of our Bishop to decide preacher base on personal favour rather than going thru the proper process of true selection of the anglican system.

Come quickly LORD to bring healings to our land.

  71. From an Observer .

I can see our brother Joshua is very brave, hard working and concerned about the church. There were many fence sitters, helpless ones who can't do anything, those raring to do something but was cautioned, nevertheless, after AGM on 1 April, all stand united.
Some used 1 Corinthians 6 to tell Joshua to be rather wronged than to go ahead with his police report.I believe this verse cannot be applied to all instances. If so why some bishops were pulled to court in other countries and got jailed! Some for fear of going public, resigned.

By going to Archbishop Bolly,I can bet AV will not entertain him and may write a letter to tell him to mind his own business like he did with the 2 former Archbishops! If he does, this shows how arrogant and disrespectful he is but I hope at least he has the courtesy to reply and not remain silent.I am sure too Archbishop will want to see him face to face to answer the allegations but will he? He will say he answers to no Man!

Outsiders are wondering-how come the bishop of ASC is holding so many posts, can he
be the acting Dean,Dean and bishop all at the same time? All 3 in 1?? That means he is having very high pay.Well,I told that person, the Anglican bishop will use whatever title he sees fit at the appropriate occasion.Wah,your church is sure a unique one, that person said.Yes,I said many things are very unique which we did not know but now know told by one honourable PCC member at the AGM.The bishop will get very offended if you call him by his name like 'Ah Vun' by his old friends, must call him Bishop or Datuk! Wah,your bishop is very conscious about his title! Oh Yes,I replied. He is also materialistic, everything 5 stars just like a CEO.better than a CEO-giving the church a deficit of over a million and still at the helm.Members have to find the money for him but members' eyes are now open wide-refused and think of reporting to the authorities.Just tune into our blog for latest news!

No wonder husband and wife and YTC fought for their master tooth and nail!!!! Wilson Rantau what about you? If all these people have so many priviledges you should also have.

No wonder AV wants projects going on all the time at the expense of the parishioners.
I think what the bishop was saying was that he forgave those who accused him not him asking the parishioners for forgiveness. You are the ones who should go down on your knees infront of him and he will pray for you to ask God to forgive all your false accusations against him! That was what he meant in his sermon.

  73. I cannot help laughing when reading about PL's sermon. Please let him go on preaching so that he can reveal more and we can use that as proofs to substantiate our accusations against the bishop! Surely,he is not qualified to be a deacon indirectly telling us how he managed to earn such a large sum of money in such a short time!

  74. BAV ordained PL with ulterior motives so that he can vote in the PCC meeting. He does not care whether PL can preach or not. Those that can preach have already 'gone missing' those that cannot preach are welcomed to stay behind, soon this church is no more a church but a bank run by BAV and his cronies.

  75. Why are some of you blowing HOT and COLD over a very important matter that may affect ASC and ADOS.

Members of ASC despite the mother church have been frustrated over decades as the ADOS is sort of stumbling block when we want some information of the church especially what is going on in ADOS. I believe ASC has been the major financial contributor to the coffer of the ADOS through the diocesan assessment for decades. Yet we are block to have access to financial and other information due to bureacracy.

So can we give our trust to the Annual Synod to handle the church matters with effectiveness to avoid the ruse we now experience? Can we trust the Standing Committee in the ADOS to do a proper job in the interest of all Anglicans in Sabah? Why cannot all members of ADOS have access to the financial and administration Reports of the ADOS? There is definitely nothing to hide and it is good as check and balance. Any dissatisfied ordinary members can ask the Synod to raise any pressing issue for the common good of the Anglican community. Are we only excited when there are elections to the various committees and not in the position to have eyes on what these committees do?

To quote the Bible - if one part of the body is sick, the whole body is sick hence the Body of Christ is really sick now and what is the immediate prescription? Police Report is now no choice to be left out.

We have just celebrated 100 years of ASC and we are in the 50th years of ADOS. So it is timely for a massive change for the better as I am told ADOS is no longer affiliated to the Church of England in the global anglican communion. Are we soon also leaving the SEA Anglican Communion so that the whims and fancies of BAV would go on alone in Sabah? That is definitely doom before that is in place.

We read that the Assistant Bishop in Tawau is asking St Patrick to pay for the new and expensive car?
Why is that car not to be paid by ADOS as he is Assistant B? Is ADOS out of fund through the excessive spending into wasteful projects like Centenarian Jubilee, the CC, the Kokol project, and other high priced items? Can we view the 5 years accounts of ADOS?

The Police Report is very much on the menu unless BAV indicates otherwise with all the demands in this blog.

  76. More inconsistency in treatment of ordained priest/clergy with spouse as pastors.

A former priest of ASC, now serving in another parish in KK, upon marrying a full time pastor (a graduate of a Bible College), has to get his new wife to resign as a pastor, as this was the practice of ADOS and BAV is enforcing this strictly.
However, when it comes to his crony, the fake deacon, this rule was never enforced, and you find Shortee Lolly (a pastor with no formal theological training) merrily bossing around in ASC, and unashamedly continuing her illegitimate occupancy of the Deanery, with all maintenance borne by parishioners.

This is favoritism and cronyism BAV can never deny nor defend!

  77. Another incidence of irregularities:

In any council of the church, it is not healthy to have husband and wife sitting as members, especially in the executive committees.

However, in ASC PCC, we have Philip Lo and Steela Lo together in the PCC, even when Philip Lo is not an ASC staff. Then we have another husband and wife team, the Dean’s Warden, and the BM People’s Warden, in PCC as well as the Excom. All these were ARRANGED by BAV. How cunning this BAV, in fooling the parishioners

    ReplyDelete
  78. Rigged balloting in AGM 2012

Some BM members were spotted by a former PCC member to be filling up registration forms during the AGM, and were immediately given ballot papers by ASC staff who were supervised by Stello Lo and Philip Lo, both keeping surveillance over everyone throughout the AGM. This incidence was immediately reported by the parishioner to the Diocesan Chancellor, Datuk Stephen Foo, who refused to intervene, and remarked, “if they are parishioners, it should be OK”.

It was later revealed that Rev Clarence Fu and family, who now worship at ASC, and who applied to enroll as ASC member, were until the AGM time, not entered in the Electoral Roll, and were refused the Ballot papers. Fair play? These are not on the minds of the Los and BAV!

  80. The crisis in ASC/ADOS involves the gov't authorities .It cannot be solved from within-such as-Kokol Prayer center, were corruptions involved that approval could be given inspite of the soil erosions.Where is the OC?

ASAA as well as other Academies , where is the licence esp for AASA? Why could a school run without a licence? Isn't it illegal to run a business in the church compound?

Selling church proporties and buying land for the church involved transactions with the authorities. Why sold the most precious prime land in Likas for only 31 Million and then bought another piece in Sipitang above the market valued price? Aren't we supposed to negotiate a lower price when buying things for the church? Have to get hold of the buyers who bought church properties and investigate if there is kick back for those involved, the seller of the Sipitang land too. How come BAV offered such a high price to buy the land from the seller when he was supposed to negotiate as low as possible on behalf of the church.Don't you all agree, something is very wrong? We need the help of a lawyer to do all these investigations.

Bishop's family land was sold above the valued price to the church with John Yeo negotiating for BAV. Why? How much did JY get in commission? Bishop paid for you and your wife to go to US? All these need the help of outside authorities to investigate.Left within the church,it cannot be done because the confidential files
are kept under lock and key and only authorized people can get hold of them.

Is it true? If it is, my following question will be as follow: Why do we need to sell this particular piece of land. How much was it sold for? How much do you think we have to pay for a piece of land like that in future, let say 10, 20, or 30 years for our own expansion? Or is there any ulterior motive behind the transaction? Is there any connection between the Vision School and this Transaction? The same company name appeared. Anyone from Tawau’s Anglican to enlighten us or Avcf himself may want to explain? How many more ADOS land will be sold by Avcf possibly to pay for all his extravagance spending? It is very sad to know that we are losing land that we will not be able to buy in future for our own expansion, especially our future generations as Avcf said “I did all this for the future generations”.
About the Rm1 tithing, do not think for one moment we are robbing God’s money, Though we tithe Rm1 we give the rest of our tithes to our interior Churches where there are greater needs, or we can give to RBC Resource Centre or we can give to Gospel for Asia, the list will go on and on. Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, actually I have a great burden for the Anglican’s hard core poor of the remotest mission Church of the interior. Why don’t we find out from the interior priests or evangelists or some of the resigned priests and evangelists, who are the Anglican’s hard core poor and use our tithes to help them, since DOS never do anything for them? Sharing what we have with our poor Anglican brothers and sisters from the interior is 100% Biblical and this is what we were asked to do. Do you know how much ADOS can do to the help the hard core poor Anglicans of the interior and to evangelise to the people of the interior with the Rm30 millions or more, instead of building a House of celebration for what. We were told to evangelise, we were not told to build mega building that is for the independence churches to do because they normally only have one mega building to show and attract members where as we have so many churches all over Sabah to take care of. The time will come when God’s give us the numbers He will also provide the building to house His people. It is His timing and not yours. As long as you do not keep selling off His Lands. God have a purpose, when He provides all those land through the hard work of the previous Bishops, Priests and Church members. Avcf please stop selling off God’s lands, at the end of the day you will be held responsible to the Almighty, unless you do not believe that there is a God, there are bishops who do not believe in Jesus Christ We hope you are not one of them. 85. Forgiveness is not just forgiving one another and forget the whole thing.Christian disputes among friends and relatives can be forgotten and forgiven and settled within the Christian family without having to go to the court but in a big crisis like the church is having now,we can still forgive but things must be put right and must have a fresh start. We cannot just forgive and then carry on as before. It has to be settled once and for all and settle them quick. It cannot drag on and on.Looks like Joshua cannot get hold of the accounts of the ADOS because they are kept by BAV's men,so this may force Joshua to go to the police to get it done.

I hope the Chhoa brothers have something under their sleeves and will change the church adminstration like Phillip promised. The whole constitution must be changed and curbed the bishop's power. He can only be a bishop doing his spiritual duties,he cannot be like what he is doing now.All his cronies must be transferred out,PCC like the chancellor and others who are on BAV's side must go.Chancellor should be only an advisor, cannot take sides. As it is Chancellor does not know his job.I am surprised that being a christian,he does not want to advise the bishop on all the wrong things that he does. The whole church must be overhauled. So sad after 100 years,it is back to square one all because of one man and his cronies.

My heart boils when reading all these people supposed to be running the church all having lavished holidays going overseas. How much have you all given to AV's CC that you still have a lot to go on lavished holidays?

Some of the members never have the means to leave Malaysia for holidays and gave one ringgit only to be cursed by the rector. Some have so much money to take a whole brood to go to UK and now spiritual leaders and cronies to US,how much do you all give to the church? If BAV does not agree with all the conditions laid out for him to follow then send him a letter and tell him that the bishop's job is not suitable for him like he used to tell some of the priests whom he wanted out.

I hope more victims will come out to tell their true stories. It was such a cruel thing from a bishop to do to tell those who resigned to vacant their premises within 24 hours!!

  86. Disputes with friends and relatives can be settled with one another if they are true christians. They can be settled within the christian families with 2 parties agreeing to solve the problems but in ASC,the parishioners are willing but the head is not!Opportunities have been given to him but he keeps running away. The best chance to settle the crisis was in the AGM but he purposely went away, only to return after the AGM as if nothing has happened.Minutes not signed-why-how come no acting dean or dean-who is he if he is not the bishop as the acting dean!

How much longer is this issue going to be dragged on? Heard from a victim that if bishop was not pleased with you and wanted you out,he would say, this job is not suitable for you. Then like a man with dignity would resign. Can we say that to the bishop and his cronies? Many hints have been given to him and he is still in denial.I hope the Chhoa brothers will do something as Philip promised that a change in the church adminstration is for sure.He said he would make a few proposals if the bishop does not do anything about the 2 resolutions.

It was a farce on the voting anyway.Shocked that cheating and dishonesty happened inside the church with those so called spiritual leaders not doing anything and allowing this sort of evil things happened and these people are the leaders conducting Sunday services every Sunday. If we still let them continue conducting services and giving out holy communion,we are obeying these anti-christs! Think about it.

  88. If ADOS has nothing to do with the Church of England or Anglican Diocese of Canterbury, why is ASC getting a speaker from there for such a great day in the Church calendar such as Easter.

Normally it is the Bishop that would deliver the key note sermon at Easter and so he is not doing his duties as a Bishop, as acting Dean or Dean when the lady Stella was doing the announcement and BAV only interested to run away to mission as an excuse when he prayed for Irene as ASC ambassador. I am disappointed as I did not hear Irene introduced herself before the prayers by BAV and who had appointed her as ambassador for mission. I though P Lo had been an ambassaor once.

So BAV is actually running away from Sabah as a Bishop not deliver the Easter Sermon, not acting Dean or Dean as he did not do the announcement and he is FINISHED as his voice is so coarse.

At the consecration declaration, he almost missed out the word "Jesus", and I know why that happened.

In the good sermon of Revd Dr Paul from England, he mention not evolution but transformation. If we allow BAV to have his way for 6 years, he has actually evolve ASC and ADOS into a business house especially doing brisk business on Sunday forthnightly at the entrance and the left lobby. Normally a tradition of FOC refreshment for Easter and Christmas plus OPEN Bishop house at the top of Signal House and now all gone to the money demons. With so many land/properties transactions, ADOS has become a bank and ASC an estate agent with the CC over-priced indeed. So who are getting the commissions for the CC? RM30m is too much with the FOC land. RM20m is reasonable. Show us the masterplan and the project paper now.

So many messages have been coming to me not to mention the Biblical one as I am shown Psalm 138 this morning before I left for church.

When I arrived at the ASC at about 8am, there was no reception. There was no bulletin on the tables and so I picked up a hymn book which I thought has the bulletin. When I open the hymn book, there were 3 palm crosses into plus the bulletin for April Fool day. I handed the 3 palm crosses to T Yap as he told me he did not receive any.

Next I saw someone wearing a T shirt with the words " Hard Rock" and then another T-Shirt "So What?".

Then there were message like "Here we go, get it started, here we go".

Were the boiled eggs given out? There were so few at the entrance.

There were a few preachings recently about deaths.

Today, Rev Dr Paul told us we live to die, and for Christians to die so that something wonderful can arise especially relating to resurrection in Christ..Dr Paul did mention about the Fruit of the Spirit.

Next I will discuss about the Police Report on 11 April, 2012.

  89. Yes, it is a Hard Rock for the Bishop AV.

So it is timely to lodge a Police Report before we do anything to find any solution within as it is a protection We would not see any repentance from BAV and his cronies.

BAV is unlikely to implement any changes in ASC vis-a-vis ADOS despite so many urgings including the 1st Resolution on the no confidence on the Acting Dean in BAV.

So the congregation after the AGM must try to set up the Committee of Inquiry CoI now after repeated major deficits in 2011 and 2012. Enough is enough.

Who would be in the CoI? Those who speak up against the acting Dean in his handling of ASC vis-a-vis ADOS should come together to form the CoI.

After lodging the Police Report together, we have every reasons to deliberate in the CoI. We can assist the Police and other authorities to investigate all our complaints. Don't leave this others.

So I can name those who had spoken (not in any committee) so well at the AGM 2012.
William Thien, Philip Chhoa, Dr Richard Barrow, Christopher Tseu, Wong Vui Yin, Kong Chong Yin, Mrs Deveraj, Joshua Kong, Gillian Wong, Florence Wong and a few I have left out as I do not know them.

Can we get down to work in CoI? You have identified yourselves already.

About the Police Report, I must have a few members to accompany me to the Police Station.

I call this project as Save Sabah Anglican (SSA) and we need to raise some fund for this SSAF.

Get in touch now to work something very fast.

    Structure of the Diocese

    Synod

    House of Bishop
House of Clergy (comprising of all ordained clergy)
House of Laity (comprising of parochial representatives and deaconesses)

    Registrar

    Chancellor

    Secretary

    Treasurer

    Standing Committee
    Subordinate Bodies

    Advisory and Constitutional Bodies

    Diocesan Strategic Implementation Unit
    Diocesan Salaries Commission
    Archbishop's Advisory Board

  91. Make sure you have all the facts and evidence before you make a police report. Otherwise it will backfire on you and you will be charged for making a false report. You must know what charges you are bringing. The first thing to do is to get people Michael Tong Yin Shiew to explain the accounts, the deficits, the exchange of cars, the purchase of expensive cars, money spent on renovation of bishop's house, how much was paid for the bishop's land for the Mengattal church. The land did not belong to Albert Vun's mother. It belonged to Albert Vun, Michael Vun and John Vun. Only Albert and John agreed to sell their share of the land. Michael refused and still owned his portion whichnisngrown with durians, rambutans nd mangosteens, etc. Please investigate this land deal. Because the land might have been sold at inflated prices.

  93. Talk about OC issued to the Kokol center, in fact the engineer and the architect of the Kokol center should also be held responsible and accountable because as professionals, they first have to certify the building fit for OC to the local Authorities. They supposed to supervise the building construction works and know best the building or soil conditions before issue any recommendation. Based on the building by laws, l dont think the Authorities including BOMBA, City Hall and Health department dare to recommend the issue OC without first receiving the recommendations from the consulting architect and engineer who supervised the project.
I say so because l had been a developer myself and know the process well. So we should go after BAV consultant team first and question their professionalism and integrity for issuing their recommendations to the Authorities for a building which its foundation, after a series of erosion had taken place, it may no longer be safe now. The engineer who designed the building and the slope should give a report now what protection measures he has proposed to stabilize the erosion and if not attended, it will become more and more serious. What is the cost to repair the eroded slope.? Why the slope protection measures constructed earlier not strong enough?

  94. It’s been quite a while that we have truly hears God’s words spoken from the Pulpit by Rev Dr. Paul. That was the reason you heard so many people applause at the end of the sermon because the words of God truly touches everyone hearts and souls and at the same time it bring peace and joy. The examples given were short and meaningful to God’s words, not like those who preach every Sunday from the pulpit about their family and their own experiences which is not relevance to God’s words. Please do not take the All Saints Cathedral congregation as ignorant children who are unable to distinguish a sermon that come from man and that from God’s own words. Go take some time to listen to the recording of Rev Dr. Paul’s sermon and learn from it. We believe all those who graduated from STM and others theological college know how to preach a good sermon, just because they want to preach like their boss to gain his good favour they preach rubbish like their boss. We really miss sermons from preachers like the late Bishop Chhoa, Bishop Yong Ping Chung, Bishop Yong chen Fah, Dean Khoo, Rev.Moses Chin, Rev, Clarence Fu and other local priests also many others visiting preachers like Bishop Moses Tay, Bishop John Chew, Bishop Ng Moon Hing and many other priests. If a man is not from God even his preaching is not of God’s words. So take heed all those who preach from the pulpit every Sunday less you enrage the anger of God.

  95. When Dean Khoo was the Dean of ASC.every year the ASC account was freely given to anyone who wanted one. After the AGM,the following Sunday, the statment of accounts would be passed to all the church goers at the church entrance. When AV came, many people are ignorant of a lot of things. They don't know the 'buy and sale scheme' in the church and depend on insiders the honest ones to leak out the truth!

We cannot help comparing AV with the past bishops. He leads the church with an iron hand-why? he floods the ASC/ADOS office with the people who obey his commands! That is why Joshua cannot get things done when he asked for help. We, nobodies need people like Joshua Kong and all those who spoke out at the AGM to help us to get things right.

    ReplyDelete
  96. continued

Most of us were blind since AV came to ASC in his initial development in the worship of ASC. I was not blind but I did not want to stir up anything as I wanted to give AV and his new team a chance to perform in a new environment. The motion of changes was very much in progress and today we know it is detrimental to the church at large. That chance had been abused now for 6 years and no chance to see any new direction. Now it is strange that sidesmen or welcomers or ushers have to dress up smartly every Sunday. Did not you see how J T (now Revd?). was dressed in his worship/singing/presentation sessions in those Sundays for months? I know that was a small thing - maybe for you - but definitely a major misdirection of lopsidedness and arrogance.

God had actually given his indication of the attitude of AV even before he came to ASC. Today, we are told most the clergy in ASC do not know the congregation. What a 'mocking' scenario if they want to serve the church - the people rather than concentrate on the church building (endless) which is sucking almost all the tithe of the believers without concerned as the massive deficit is burden for all.

Actually the Police Report if done properly is a protection for the people in the church if we decide to make the changes in the ADOS and ASC. The Police Report is a justification for our action to resolve the crisis in the church as it is not possible right now - within - hence we go out. Without a Police Report or Court Order, the laity is too weak to act on the prevailing crisis started by the onemanshow for 6 years. AV would tell us who are we? On the other hand, AV and his gang may resort to the Court with the ill gotten gain to block the laity to gain any information or act on the crisis. We can test that with the Committee of Inquiry at our own initiative.

So the Police Report would go ahead as soon as possible with a few concerned members of the Anglican church.

God bless us in this season of action for the good of the church.

Please contact me on 012-8380897. to finalise the preparation to lodge this landmark item in the history of ADOS and ASC.

All supporters would be welcome. Please stay as quiet as possible except some clapping maybe allowed. Don't let infiltrators to spoil our effort.

Please bring a few small hand banners (no slanders or libel please) to be approved by me if considered necessary. After the PR, all we need is to stay
around for the most 15 minutes peacefully.

Reporters are welcome. When we speak to reporters we have to be careful.
I will prepare a one page press release to the Press as why we make this report and no copy of the report would be given to the press until after the Police had started the investigation. We have to be cautioned to give any chance to the other side to hit us back the slightest whatever way. Nothing is easy. I have done more than 30 PRs in recent years with over a thousand pages.

  98. Gone are those good old days when our former bishops such as Bishop Chhoa , Bishop Yong Phin Chung and Bishop Yong Chen Fah together with their wives became our friends. They knew a lot of us by our names, our backgrounds and even now under retirement still closely connected with ASC people.

Bishop Yong Chen Fah would visit the parishioners by joining the carollers on their rounds to sing in parishioners' homes. This was the best time for him to meet them because other days,he was a busy man but he still found the time to go to pray for the sick in their homes or hospital if requested.

For those in their late 60s and 70s,we remember Bishop Koh.He was also a humble man and during Chinese New Year,he would make his rounds to visit parishioners in their homes. If he happened to meet his old friends in their homes while on his rounds,he would laugh and joke with them about the good old days in Sandakan, about football etc..All went back to calling each other by their nicknames, with no barrier such as,I am the bishop now, call me bishop or datuk!

I remember Bishop Chhoa when he was still in good health but retired would go and help the women folks of the church to make achar to raise money for the church. He was much loved and we still remember him fondly. As far as I know Bishop Chhoa did not have any drivers with only Mrs.Chhoa as his driver. Some said he went to live in the interior to have better connections with the kampong people.

Bishop Yong and his wife also did not have luxurious cars, lived in a humble bishop's house quite run down but never complained about it.Occasions like Christmas, all invited to go to the bishop's house a time for fellowship and getting to meet the people session. All 3 churches,Good Sam,Christ Church and ASC all joined together with one accord to provide home cooked food but no Q nyuk and pak cham kei for the occasions, all done by members of the 3 churches with Mothers' Unions at the fore front. Everyone was looking forward to these special occasions.

When BAV came, for 6 years no invitation to the bishop's house which does not belong to him anyway. Why? Members paid for the renovations which came to a huge sum, they have every right to go and have a look. Mothers' Unions abolished abruptly without a closing ceremony inspite of being in existence for 50 years- not even allowed them to celebrate their 50th birthday before calling it a day.The money saved in the Mothers' Union all must be surrendered to the church.I hope the Mothers Union money is properly accounted in the church accounts.

This present bishop and wife are way,way down compared with our past bishops but their style of living is way,way up.They really know how to live in style at the expense of the parishioners and would curse if money is not forth coming as if the parishioners owe them anything.

How many of us the bishop and his wife really know?
All he is concerned is about building mega projects.I wonder if he and his pastors know that some of the parishioners are sick, bedridden and cannot go to church on Sunday. When they died, last rites and burial plot were disallowed stating the reason as,they did not go to church when alive,so when dead, also not allowed! Who made such stupid rules?

Whether the reports were passed or not,it is now irrelevant because the AGM was a farce. The votings were rigged and no proper ballot boxes for putting in the ballot papers. The ballot papers were collected using baskets!!! There was no security and one person could give more than one vote.People's names not on the electoral roll were not allowed to vote .The BM congregation people were allowed to register at the time of AGM and could vote straightaway but those in the other congregations were not allowed to do so if their names were not registered on the electoral roll.

So far AV does not do anything about the resolutions nor comments on the voting system. Is he still the Dean/Bishop or not?

I am an Anglican and have a few points to share with you after following your blog for the past few months. I am not siding with your Bishop AVCF. Please refrain from filing the police report as yet. A few of you should come together, sit down and discuss among yourself what you want. Make sure you have all the facts and supporting documents for discussions. You already have your ASC accounts. (The Hon. Treasurer of ASC is the best person to explain the report, She should have all the documents, facts and figures). Get hold of your ASC SYNOD REPRESENTATIVES, they should have the accounts of the ADOS. Accounts of the ADOS MUST be made available for SYNOD REP. which they have to approve at the SYNOD. By the way, when will the next SYNOD be held? This should be your first step and most important fact for your next step of action.

The next Synod is 29 August to 1st September.

I have never in my life at ASC seen any report of the Synod..and what do you expect now?

      Delete
    4. If you have not seen any SYNOD report,(THEN IT IS A PLUS POINT FOR THE REMOVAL OF BISHOP AVCF). Please get hold of ASC Synod Rep. There are SYNOD Minutes and reports and also please get hold of your ADOS Constitution (get it from the Chancellor or the Registrar). You have mention that the Chancellor is a FOO+L and side Bishop AVCF then see the Registrar. It should have a clause to say that the Accounts of ADOS must be accepted and approved by the SYNOD.
I am not against filing a Police Report but you must have all the facts and figures and documents on hand otherwise it will backfire and you all will not have a strong case for the removal of Bishop AVCF. Without documents it is just hearsay and will not hold water.
ASC PCC's members must have the minutes and accounts. If not get hold of your ASC's Constitution. Dr. Chhoa is the Warden. He should have all the necessary documents (minutes and accounts) if not your Treasurer (Rosalind). Even though the PCC are lopsided to the Bishop AVCF but this are facts that the PCC did raise their objection (if they did and is recorded in your minutes). All this are PLUS points for your removal of Bishop AVCF.

  104. Dear brothers and sisters in Christ in the Anglican family in Sabah,

Some of you may come to support this Police Report.

This is first ever and possibly never again - a tough challenge for the Resurrection of the Sabah Anglican church now in turmoil due to ONEMANSHOW.

So we have to be in the best conduct at the event both in the Police Station at the report desk, in the Police Compound and possibly in the ASC compound.

I do not know what to expect especially the number of Anglicans would turn up in the very HOT event. I can feel it as the AGM 2012 was such a highly charged event ever in ASC. So we need to keep our cool as I don't know what is up in the sleeves of the other side. Trust God to help us to be a COOL event.

Most important - not to be played up by some reporters (anything possible) both in the event and what maybe published or not published later. Trust God that they would do a good job too.

So if the numbers of supporters and others are very big in the hundred as it is a public holiday, we need to appoint a team to control the crowds wih a Captain and some assistants. We may appoint on the spots just prior we set foot to the Police Station.

After the Police Report proper at the desk, we may have a brief press conference if needed. Some photo sessions and I hand them my press release. The few that accompany me to the Police desk may say something reasonable to the Press. It would be a solemn affair at the Police desk and at the door after the PR.

Please help ourselves to help us in this very highly charged and important event.

    1. This is not a HOT event. This is a SAD event but you seem to be enjoying what you are doing. Sincerely ask your heart, do you think God approves what you are doing? You are doing it for your self or for the church, or for God? If for the sake of the church, remember HOLY Spirit is the Head of the Church, not even the Bishop, a human being. Let us do what we are suppose to do and whatever that is done by others, let God be the Judge. We are accountable to God when we meet Him face to face. By going to Polis, I can sincerely tell you, you are accountable to God and this act is not pleasing before HIM and will bring shame to HIS name. Why don't we just let God do what is beyond our doings? This church belongs to God, not the Polis.

  108. Veteran Anglican writes,

We should support and encourage Joshua Kong in taking the intended Police actions for the following reasons -

BAV and his crony clergy preachers and supporters will never repent or resolve all the complaints.

We have already exhausted all avenues. What other avenues can opponents of JK's actions think of. Please state them down and do not only say that not all avenues are exhausted.

The long term damage BAV and his cronies are causing to ADOS and ASC will not be reparable if actions are not taken now. Those at the AGM, hearing and reading those reports cannot be blind and deaf to those already caused by him.

Everyone knows that the Bible discourages court or legal action. But that applies to brothers and sisters at the same level.

Here BAV as the "so called spiritual leader" is damaging and disparaging the Diocese and Cathedral. Facing a blank wall and arrogance of BAV and his cronies, JK's actions are the only choice if we genuinely care for God's church.

God also wants us to use our discernment and effort to help preserve His church against thieves, robbers and destroyers of souls.

Joshua Kong is faithfully carrying out his spiritual responsibilities unlike those who can only talk, try to be spiritual and do nothing.

Joshua, you are doing the right thing and good job as a personal sacrifice.

I will donate money for your cause. Somebody should do the collection of funds for JK's actions.

This remind me what happened to ASC own kindergarten......but before I start, my frien told me that this might be just a rumor, and if this really is just a rumor, then I'm sorry for wasting everyone's time reading this and please ignore this and even delete this post. But if this turn out to be more than a rumor, then can people who still have the power to do something pleaseeeee stand out and stop this from happening.

A church is a non profit making organisation. So it is not right to have profit making as one of the goal in the church's kindergarten. The kindergarten has more valuable purposes than just $$$$. It is a way to pay back to the society, a social responsibility and the most important as a channel to spread the words of god. Families around the Good Sam church send their children to the kindergarten and lots of them r non Christian. So words can be done to spread out the words of god tru their children. If they become Christians, isn't this a greater profit then the $$$$$ in the kingdom of god??? Imagine if the kindergarten did closed down, what would they think of a church that close down their kindergarten because it's not making profit???

If $$$$ is such a big issue to the church, then we should start by closing down the vision school in tawau........I don't think it is making any profit till now and it is making bigger loss than the Good Sam kindergarten.

So once again, if this turned out to be true and 'someone' is really trying to put their hands on to close down the kindergarten, I beg those with power to stand out to stop this.

    1. I am a Good Sam member and I can assure you that there is no truth in this rumour of Good Sam kindergarten closing down. The kindergarten is also not losing money. Could have just call the priest in charge, the principal, or the leaders in the church to verify such claim before hitting the panic button. There are lots of accusations written in the blog, please make sure that they are true, verify with source, its usually just a phone call away, before they are put in the blog to give the blog better credibility. Thank you.

    2. I tend to believe in your 'rumour' about closing Good Sam kindergarten. Why must AV want to meddle in other parish, that is the question I want to ask.He is the bishop and he should let the running of other Anglican churches to his priests. His job is to go round to all the other churches to see to their needs.

As it is,the parishioners do not know where he is,he has disappearing acts. His itineraries are never revealed not like Bishop Yong's time. His whole year's time table was published out so that parishioners knew his whereabouts.

Nowadays,we don't know who are the sick so that they can be prayed for and visited. There is nothing about them in the bulletin. We only come to know of a person when we see his/her obituary in the newspapers!!!

Oferrings on Sundays are not revealed every week, why? Everything is kept hushed hushed and not transparent.

Will God be pleased to have business done in the church such as breakfast after church and have to pay for it? Who gets the profits-They go to the church account or to ASAA account? This illegal school, does it need to pay rental, electricity etc or ASC is doing it for them? All the more we should get to see the accounts.

I can give you a good reason why Good Sam kindergarten is going to be closed if it is true, first it does not make money but so is his wife's school, secondly,by closing this kindergarten, then all the children will go to ASAA as there is a kindergarten there. Thus this will increase the students' population of ASAA.

    3. Can you please verify what accusations are untrue? You from Good Sam,you know the inside matters of ASC? The parishioners want to find out with the help of the bishop and all his right hand men/ladies so that everything is put right. No more accusing wrongly. The reason why all the accusations are going on is because we want the bishop to reveal the truth.Come out with facts and documents to prove that the parishioners are liars. Why,don't they do it? Why did the bishop run away on the day of the AGM,minutes not signed and now after the AGM still silent on the 2 resolutions. Thank you Good Sam member for coming out to say that Good Sam kindergarten is not losing money and not closing. This is the sort of person I like for telling people off for accusing wrongly.Keep this up and BAV should learn from you.I wish Good Sam Kindergarten 'long life' and may you all have many.many years of teaching and learning.God bless Good Sam Kindergarten.

  110. Annoyed Anglican writes,

BAV's bad examples of forcing his way are showing results and spreading in our diocese.

So frustrating to hear that assistant bishop John Yeo has picked up BAV's style and got himself an expensive Harrier and forcing St. Patricks to pay.

Not surprise if assistant bishop Melter do the same very soon. His parish gave BAV RM9,000.00 for his holiday in N.Z. in 2011.

"You scratch my back and I scratch yours".

The whole diocese spiritual leaders talk about money, materialism and enjoying all the good things in life at the expense of money and tithings given by faithful parishioners. But the so called spiritual leaders cover their greed by appearing to be very zealous in doing works of mission and evangelism - this has fooled the parishioners into giving more and more.

BAV is the greatest thief and robber.

BAV should now be known as BARABAS ALBERT VUN.

Because of his stealing God's monies, can he be in paradise when he dies? Worst than Ananias and Sapphira who only sinfully treated their own personal monies.

  111. Although there is likely no formal removal procedure for the top position in the Anglican Diocese of Sabah unless the House of Bishops in the Anglican Communion which formally appoint/confirm the Bishop elect whenever a vacancy arises, decides to act accordingly to remove such office holder.

When that is likely to fail as we have seen it happening here. The Archbishop of the DioceseSEA has yet to respond to my email for an suspension of BAV. I have heard some five persons had signed a petition to the Archbishop of DSEA at Singapore now retired. We witness an impasse for a rapid solution in this respect.

Now, would the Chancellor of ADOS confirm what the Pledge AV made in his installation at the Bishop of Sabah? Has Bishop Datuk Albert Vun Chong Fui breached in his pledge to the Church for all those acts and activities described in the AGM 2012 and in this blog? If he has failed to uphold what he had pledge, should he not be removed or resign from the high office which he claims he can what he likes. Can he really do what he likes as what we have so far witnessed in 6 six years sinking the ADOS and ASC into such a low and precarious position with massive deficit in ASC accounts for 2010 and 2011. I have yet to sight the accounts of ADOS since he assumed office in 2006.

Accordingly, the Chancellor of ADOS should advise BAV to do the most honourable exit.

Unfortunately, the Chancellor of ADOS did not voice out anything at the ASC AGM 2012 over the conduct of the Bishop/acting Dean/Dean except advised the members on the two motions.

When the check and balance mechanism appears to have been manipulated, members should have the natural justice to act accordingly to remove the person or persons concerned.

Our brother Joshua is doing all that he can to help ASC/ADOS.He has tried all he could to get to see the accounts and I believe he has met a brick wall infront of him. What other avenues are there except to go for outside help? Inside help is not forth coming. Joshua had faxed Archbishop Bolly about the crisis in ASC and asked him to read the blogs and JK also told him his intention .If Archbishop Bolly is very busy to reply,at least he could instruct his secretary to acknowledge JK's faxed letter but up till now, silence,so what do you expect JK to do other than with the support of the parishioners to go to the police?I think JK wants to get a court order to get to see all the files. If there is nothing to hide, why so secretive? This is a church which belongs to all the members and they are funding the church. If there are irregularities in the account, surely they have a right to check. If there are irregularities in your bank account ,don't you want to see the bank officer to check or you rather be wronged and keep quiet since the person who stole your money happened to be a christian!!

Joshua, bravo and all the brave ladies and gentlemen who are tirelessly helping the church to put things right. We will forever be grateful that some brave people are coming out to help the helpless ones.

Don't be so sure, you can use the church and the car park,it may be closed tomorrow!

  115. A police report is necessary because this is an issue that is connected to the alleged misappropriation of funds, possible CBT, undisclosed accounts, abuse of funds etc. It is NOT a dispute between Believers. Hence I Corinthians (no lawsuits) does not apply.
This is a very dark and turbulent time for ASC and the DOS. It is truly terrible what BAV has done to the diocese;sowing discord, causing division, bringing shame to the body of Christ without any repentance. He has in the words of St Paul "troubled" the church.
He has to leave and the next bishop must NOT be the two assistant bishops. In fact, a bishop can come from any part of the Province of SEA. Bishop Koh, Bishop Chhoa were all not from the Sabah diocese.Let this be a good lesson to all those responsible for making Albert bishop (selection committee, ex bishops, house of bishops, internet journalists et el). Seek God and the good of the church not your own self-preservation.

By taking such a move, we are showing ourselves that God does not have the power to take care of His church. The moment this act is carried out, Satan will be very happy. God will be sad. 1. Why are you so scared that mismanagement of funds committed in the church must not be made public? We can't cover up what is happening in our church,it has gone global by now! Why are you so sure that God is not at work? The majority of the parishioners agree with JK to go ahead with the police report,if the holy spirit is not at work then who is? We as christians have the holy spirit dwelling in our hearts and prompting us what to do. Do we just sit and let God do everything when he is using the holy spirit to tell us what to do? What are authorities for? The bible tells us to obey the authorities and so we ask the authorities to settle this crisis since authorities in the church are not forth coming.

Satan is already running our church and will play havoc if we do not put a stop to it.The majority of the parishioners know something is not right but helpless because church authorities help are not forth coming because it involves the head himself. The archbishop so far is silent. The bible says we are to obey the authorities even if the authorities are not christian ones.Where else to go for help if your own church is quiet about the mismanagement of funds? Nobody wants to take the lead until we have our brother JK who offers himself to do this job which a lot of us are unwilling to do so,at least he knows all the procedures how to lodge a police report as he said he had done so so many times.

  119. You tell me if you have a company, and a CEO who does not come out any annual report at the AGM, it mean the CEO has not been working for almost the whole year.

This CEO also send his GM to attend the AGM on his behalf and takes no responsibility of the events at the AGM.

This CEO did not sign the last AGM minutes.

The GM was only for a few months and came up with a brief Report with missing items.

Last year, the CEO presented the Financial Accounts instead of the Hon Treasurer in a drama of microphone snatching.. This item was missing in the 2011 AGM minutes.

So you reflect on this BISHOPGATE and this is likely my last message before the Police Report as the fire extinguisher as the fire of turmoil has spread to other churches.

Tawau parishioners it is time you all be like your brothers and sisters in Christ to give one ringgit or not at all.So disappointing that 2 bishops spend the people's hard earned money without batting and eyelid. They are blinded by material things. The second bishop ordained by the 'elder brother' by passing the more abled and more senior ones so that they can 'work together' to dry up the church coffers! No wonder the 'younger brother' was involved in the 'elder brother's' land deal negotiating the price for him.

Sometime last year in one of the bulletins AV put up a comment and said that some parishioners collected money from others and then used the name Anglican to do it.He said not to give to these people whose account might not be transparent and not audited!! He stressed that his account was very transparent and properly audited-well BAV why don't you let people scrutinize the church accounts?

For your information, money collected during our bible study is very transparent and properly accounted for.We use the money for helping others who are in need of them.We don't have to pass the money to you and then for you to give out under the name ASC It is saver that we keep the money ourselves.

  123. I wonder whether the award of the construction of the Kokol Center had gone through a proper tender process. A normal tender process would mean that the tender notice to be publish in newspaper for a certain period and the tenders should be opened in front of a building plan committee. If this had not been done, it is considered as abuse of power and the award is inappropriate. Every Payment can only be paid to contractor after the work done had been certified correct by the project engineer or the Architect. If this is not done, it is also an abuse of power. The contract sum is not 40 to 50 thousands but 4 to 5 millions dollars. It must be accountable. This is also a serious offense, CBT.

  125. I can see that some parishioners prefer to let their church be run by the anti-christ spirit even though they know what BAV is doing is not right. They prefer to 'whisper' only not to let others know about it because it brings shame to the church! They want to sweep everything under the carpet and keep waiting for God to do something. They sit and sulk and let the bishop and his cronies dry up the 'bank' which is running dry very fast, not only in ASC but it spreads to St.Patrick's.You all want the bishop to live in style at your expense,by not doing anything, you are encouraging him to continue to do what he is doing. If we know that what he is doing is not right, aren't we supposed to let him know even though he is the bishop?? He is the head and he thinks what he is doing is right,so the next generation especially the young clergies will follow his foot steps like the ass. bishop in Tawau, buying things and then telling the PCC to pay for it.The exodus of priests leaving is already proof that they did not want to be a part in the bishop's ministry. They just could not stomach his administration.

What is so wrong in lodging a police report? Gov't authorities are also chosen by God and we are to obey them. This will never end if we do not do anything.

Corruptions-Conger.It is a Church of England newspaper with corrupt bishops taken to court for mismanagement of church funds and all found guilty and some jailed!! Very shameful right?. Members lodged police report to get access to financial statement of accounts. They did not wait for God to take actions.God gave them the wisdom of discernment and the law was the best avenue to get matters dealt with.

As I see it going to the archbishop, house of bishops etc are of no use. They will not do anything. It is up to the members of your church, maybe keep the archbishop informed. I wonder who are in the house of bishops? John Yeo and ass. bishop Melter?

Don't be deviated by voices to stop you. If you have enough people turn up to support you, even less than 10, you should go ahead with facts in your report.

Facts like spending without even asking for approval from his committee and also giving out awards without calling for tender. What is there to vote? all those who turn up is to report to police, they are with you. Therefore do not make this day unfulfilled.

Think about it, without proper report, there will not be investigations, how then we officially complain a scandal and call for investigation? Do not let BAV turn around and say you are coward!

  128. The time is now and in our own hands as members of ASC and ADOS.
If any of you want to depend on the Archbishop SEA to handle this very complicate case, you must do it very fast. You think the Archbishop with such a big Diocese in Kuching or Sarawak has the resources and time to handle our BISHOPGATE, and we will be disappointed.
I did not pursue the Police Report alone although it is ready but I was waiting for more people to come at 2pm at the ASC entrance and I left about 2.25pm as no other members turned up.
If any one turned up late, you miss the earlier show.
Rector Canon YTC, Dean's Warden, Stella Lo together with another person I do not know plus some security men came to me and my wife standing near the main ASC entrance next to the Police. YTC told me after shakehand that I could not have an assembly in the ground of ASC without his consent because of the personal security of people staying in the ASV compound.
I was pleasantly surprised that DE and OCDN's reporters turned up at about 2.10pm. The reporters wanted to find out more and I then asked them for their email addresses. Then they asked to see the priests who were in the left lobby. So they went over to interview YTC and others after YTC was on the handphone.

So what to expect tomorrow in the newspapers?
    So what is next?
We need to organise ourselves properly and the Police Report must be made at a strategic timing.
It is fine if some people want to wait for the Ecclasiates Court.
We also need to set up the Committee of Inquiry immediately.
Both the EC and CoI can be in parallel running as they are intertwined.
After that we need to have a strategic programme to resolve the BISHOPGATE.
What about the Extra-Ordinary meeting that needs 20 members? Do you think you can get 80 to attend for the quorum?
What about the 2 resolutions at the AGM with the massive rigging for the second resolution vote?
I see many very good talkers here but do not walk the talks.
I know what happened today is indeed a miracle of sort.
We will meet at 88 on this Sunday and please don't bring/allow any infiltrators.
We need fund for all these. We can set up a protem committee for the BISHOPGATE and submit it to the ROS.

  129. Joshua, I am pleasantly surprise YTC & Stella Lo turned up to stop you. I thought they do not read the blogs? Nonetheless, we should not stop here without a police report. Without report means without investigations.

You should not let the reporters interview the wolves in the sheepskin. Have your say 1st, tell the reporters all your intention. All we are asking is justice nothing else. Even the AGM at the church they had cheated the members what else can we trust our priests and pastors? Even the Bishop's wife influenced the helpers in the BM to vote against something good that the lay people are trying to bring forth. Why?

Control, power is crazily needed in the hands and the family members of the bishop and the priests? SOMETHING MUST BE VERY VERY WRONG! THINK ABOUT THAT! THOSE WHO WERE AGAINST THE POLICE REPORTS ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO GOD!

The church does not submit to ROS. So you people who want for justice? BAV is laughing now.

There is no need to inform the rest in the blog and please do inform us after the making the police report. Like you mentioned, all you need is mini 5 church registered members
We don't a need a big crowd otherwise we can be charged as illegal assembly. It is a blessing that the rest did not turn up today because someone may lodge a police report about an illegal assembly infront of ASC. You don't have to meet at ASC compound but can go straight to the police station to meet. The best if the ASC Treasurer and secretary can come along because they are officially the committee members and that would make the report more relevant.

  136. I have been following this blog from the start.

I believe this incident must has impacted alot of Christians; both emotionally and spiritually. Unless we go back to the teachings of the Bible, we are not going anywhere. At the end of the day, Christ's body will be greatly affected.

With this burden and heavy heart, I am writing this blog not with the intention of publishing it but I do hope my sharing will bring some thoughts on how Christians (including church leaders) should respond to any call of trials.

    1. Christ Himself: He was arrested and put to trials (from Jewish trial to Roman's trial).
    2. The Apostle's first trial was before Nero.

I would like to raise a few questions:

    1. Who were the people who put them to trials?
    - In today's term, are they Chritians too?
    2. Were King Pilate and Nero considered non-Christians?
    3. Did God give them the juridictions to carry out their duties?
    4. How did Christ Jesus and the Apostle Paul respond to the trials? Did they repond to the allegations that were put before them?

If the above answers are "YES", I guess what you all have been doing is the right thing. I am not an expert in Bible but I do hope someone among you who is qualify to answer the questions can stand up and speak out the Word of God.

May our thoughts and actions guided by His Word and His Holy Spirit.

The Lord bless you all and He remembers your love for His Church and people.

    Praying for you all!
